Nienix: Cosmic Warfare 1.0!

Nienix has finally reached 1.0!

I had originally planned for 8-12 months of early access, but it ended up lasting ~14 months. This was the case as I got so many great ideas from you guys that the originally intended features were flexed quite a bit. I am very happy it did, and very grateful for all your help - Nienix 1.0 would have been way less fun without it!

Brief summary of the year in EA:
  • On average, a player spent 20 hours in-game - 1 out of 10 played more than 100 hours.
  • More than 5000 player feature requests were received (and most were implemented). An example fan-favorite is the worm-type ship.
  • More than a hundred patches were deployed.


To put it mildly, a lot happened during EA!

On another note - I am far from done developing the game. You can expect alot of new content over the coming years!

🎯 [Balance] Sensor range has been buffed, especially post level 30.
🎯 [Balance] Sensor range now fully stack with respect to buffs (e.g., the Founders T7 talent "Skill Shot"). The character information screen has been update to reflect this value.
🎯 [Balance] Bullet velocity and range has been increased for many weapons (when used by players).
🎯 [Balance] Stun has been reworked - there is now a cooldown of 10 seconds for players and 5 seconds for enemies.
🎯 [Balance] The crit multiplier cap has been raised to 3000%.
🎯 [Balance] Enemy damage has been reduced when playing on the normal and easy difficulties.
🎯 [Balance] Increased the loot rarity in one of the unstable dungeons in Act 1.
🎯 [Misc] Changed the music of some dungeons in Act 4.
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed an issue in the input (gamepad/keyboard/mouse) system that could cause the input to become locked after starting the game from sleep mode on the Steam Deck (and possibly also other systems).

Misc update

🎯 [Balance] The Vagrantis T3 skill Turret Damage Booster has been buffed.
🎯 [Balance] Elite enemy hull has been revised for the regular campaign.
🎯 [Balance] There is now a cooldown on stun (max once per 30 seconds). This applies to both enemies and players.
🎯 [Balance] The frozen condition is now less effective against bigger ships/hulls. This applies to both enemies and players, although the bonus is greater for players.
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed a bug that could cause players to become invincible and gain wallhack when switching maps in the PvP modes.
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed a bug in the Arena game mode that caused some enemies and bosses to fail to properly spawn.
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed a crash issue that was introduced by patch 0.905.
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed some incorrect texts.

Performance improvements

🎯 [Performance] The performance in hectic locations such as the large space battles has been significantly improved. This should be especially evident when playing COOP.

Balance changes

🎯 [Balance] The damage and range of many weapons have been buffed (only applies to newly obtained items).
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed an error with the procedural spawn position of an entrance to an asteroid in Act 2.
🎯 [Bug fix] Fixed an issue in the path finding system that could cause a crash.
