Classic 1v1 Map Returns! (Update #377)

Hey everyone!

Getting our new environment assets into the new maps has been more trouble than we expected.

I've got a few solutions, but they'll take a couple days to iron out.

So in the mean time, here's the original 2019 1v1 Classic map, back in-game again!

Free for all players!

Changes:
-Re-added original 2019 1v1 Classic Map to Map Select
-Updated textures, outlines, and lighting
-Works with block goalies, CPU goalies, and supports up to 8 players (if you're insane enough).

To Do:
-Stage changes will come back to the classic map in a later update!
//The fans need to use a new physics system, and I wanted to separate them out from the update so I could tackle them separately.

Demo Version:
-Includes 1v1 Classic map.

Known Issues:
-Goalies are leaving their net far too often in some games.
-Goalies are spamming their charged swing too often in some games.
-Goalie's movement can be twitchy at times.

-Textures in Coliseum are appearing stretched wrong in Coliseum
-Some geometry won't load in the stands in Coliseum

-CPU Players at higher levels are spamming ball lifts and freezes more than they should

-Controller Navigation in ArenaSettings doesn't work as expected

//These are all being worked on, and should come later this week, or next!

Win Tracker Added, UI Improved (Update #376)

Hey everyone!

New week, new update

Changes:
-'3,2,1 GO!' Text moved higher on screen to prevent blocking of the face-off.
-OT text on the Overtime panel is visible again
-Infinity Symbol is stretched correctly
-Added an icon for overtime to be fancy

Added:
-Game now tracks your total wins while you have the game open.
-On the victory screen, you'll see text on the left and right sides.
-Those are the total number of wins for each side, and reset when you close the game.

-The 'Restart' button has been re-named to 'Continue' to make more sense with the change.

Demo Version:
-Gets all these features

Known Issues:
-Goalies are leaving their net far too often in some games.
-Goalies are spamming their charged swing too often in some games.
-Goalie's movement can be twitchy at times.

Crash Fixes, Resolution Options (Update #375)

Hey everyone!

New week, new update

Changes:
-Fixed crash caused by having more than 5 players in a scene
-Fixed hair from flickering in new maps
-Fixed mesh of stands not always appearing in-game

Added:
-Resolution can be set in the settings menu.
//Options are 1080p (HD), 2K, or 4K.
//Your game will remember your previous choice when launching the game.

Backend:
-Upgraded Unity version from 2019.4 to 2022.3.
//Allows us to support newer features, like adding more geometry to the new maps.
//Performance should be slightly increased.

Demo Version:
-Includes all changes (although playing matches with more than 4 players is in the full version only!)

ArenaSettings Improvement (Update #374)

Hey everyone!

The new ArenaSettings menu is implemented, we'll be slowly rolling out now features to tweak your matches from this menu!

Changes:
-ArenaSettings Menu improved in prep of new features
-CPU players no longer spam the swing button in the seconds between whistles after a goal is scored.
-ArenaSettings uses a new system.
-Build size decreased slightly
//The build was accidentally building scenes you can't access yet, increasing the build size slightly.

Known Issues:
-Text is appearing less crisp as before in menus.
-Game will sometimes crash when more than 5 players play a match at a time.

Demo Is Now Live! - Dev Update 66

Hey everyone!

Our pricing adjustment has been made, and our free demo is now live!

We have some new features almost ready that will go out to both versions of the game.

A new version of the ArenaSettings menu is finished and will come out some time this week, with us eventually adding more features to tweak your match settings the way you like.

The experimental new environment maps have been working successfully across our settings, so the next steps are to fill those environments in with more geometry (this has been held back by a shader bug).

Once the geometry is in place, we'll start experimenting with stage hazards (we think a global toggle may be a good way to introduce this) and then eventually some more creative sizes of stages.

Some of the ArenaSettings work we've done is also to help create some more long-term ways to change up how you play. Our plans are to introduce some tournament brackets first, as well as introduce more players you can play as and different teams to fight.

That'll help us get ready for a more of an adventure-style mode where you could complete missions on the way to a final goal.

You'll see these milestones in an updated roadmap in the next few weeks.

KNOWN ISSUES:
-Outside geometry in new maps failing to load
//We've figured out the problem. It was a shader feature compatibility problem between our older version of Unity and the Unity version they were built in. Since our tries at working around the missing feature didn't fix the problem, we'll be updating our Unity version in the next week or so.
//This Unity update was already in the queue for a long time, and this gives us a good reason to make the update. We'll still need to iron out any issues the newer version causes, but it'll also allow us to add in features we've had to hold off on.

-Game crashing when more than 5 players load into a match
//We think we've found the cause and will hopefully get a fix out this week.
//We also have the potential to allow as many as 16 players to a match, but we'll probably roll those out slowly to make sure it still plays smoothly. It definitely gets chaotic and sometimes hard to follow, so some QOL is also on the way to make seeing your player in a crowd even easier (the first was the different hair and glows on similar characters!)
