The Naturalist and The Doll-Maker revealed on Kickstarter
We have collected over 65% of our initial Kickstarter goal, and it is time to reward the community with some information about our game’s characters. Back us on Kickstarter and share the word!

We borrowed the image of Madame Mandilip directly from Abraham Merritt’s book Burn, Witch, Burn, but re-imagined her following our setting.
Madame Mandilip a toy store owner, who often moves from one town to another. Her toys are amazing, especially the dolls, lovingly crafted with incredible skill, only that her arrival in a new town is always marked with mysterious deaths.
Mandilip is an adept of an obscure cult older than humanity itself: she possesses a skill of splitting souls and extracting the essence of life. She can steal a part of a dying human’s soul and implant it into a doll made in their image and semblance; such dolls become her faithful servants.

When creating The Naturalist character, we were inspired by old films, such as Werewolf of London and Wolfman. However, our character had to delve into occult studies and secret knowledge far deeper than his cinema counterparts.
He used to be a botanist and study exotic plants in the most remote parts of the world. Looking for rare specimens of flora, he happened to meet some fauna as well. The young scientist was bitten by a werewolf, and ever since, he was turning himself into a bloodthirsty wolf-like monster at night. Only the cold reason turned out to be able to tame the feral essence for a while. By taking various herbal brews, the Naturalist can control his transformations, at least to a certain extent.
Studying himself and his kind became his new goal. The scientist had to turn to the areas of knowledge that used to make him sceptical. From studying the folklore of various countries and tribes, he moved on to sects and mysterious cults, and then to practical magic. Trying to find a grain of knowledge under a pile of prejudices and superstitions, he spent several semesters at the University of Arkham.
Information from several sources has shown that something epic is coming. Having put together the painstakingly collected facts, the Naturalist learned about the Great Game and decided to watch it. However, the Game’s magic turned the onlooker into an active participant.
Which side will he take? This somewhat depends on what part of his personality will decide, human or feral.
