Community Feedback Update 1.1

[p]Since the 1.0 launch, we’ve been actively gathering your feedback and ideas, and taking note of ways we can continue improving the game. In this update, we've introduced a variety of community-requested features, quality-of-life improvements, and balancing changes that better the Len's Island experience. Discover what's changed in the latest Community Feedback update:[/p][p][/p][h2]Free Camera Orbiting [/h2][p]We've changed how the camera works in Len's Island. You can now freely orbit without the soft-lock. Combined with the increased load distance in the settings, you can now see much further into the distance to appreciate the world and discover distant islands. If you don't like the unlocked camera, no worries, you can re-enable the camera lock in the settings menu.[/p][p][/p][h2]Chunk Loading Settings & Performance Boost[/h2][p]We've made many improvements to chunk loading, including enhancing its performance and adding chunk load distance and speed settings in the game menu. You'll find that the game's performance around large buildings and farms has significantly improved, creating an even smoother experience. This also gives you the option to see islands much further into the distance, although please keep in mind that longer load distances will affect performance.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]
Increased Performance of Buildings and Farms[/h2][p]We made some big performance improvements to large houses and farms. We re-wrote the optimisation systems that handle structures, making larger structures load far smoother and also impact performance far less when you're nearby.
[/p][h2]Sorting Button for Storage Items[/h2][p]Are your chests filled with random resources and looking like a mess? We've added a new sorting button to all storage items to make it easier to keep your resources in order. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Edit Constructions With New Move Button[/h2][p]We heard you wanted an easier way to make edits to your base. Now, instead of having to delete and re-place build items, you can use the new 'Move' button to pick up the building item and place it in a new area. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]New Animal Companion: The Black Bear[/h2][p]Discover the new black bear lurking in the Len's Island cave network! Once tamed using a bait box, they'll make themselves useful by harvesting nearby wild fruit and vegetable bushes! [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]New Crop Status UI[/h2][p]Additional UI has been added to the crop system to show its name, maturity, and watering status to give you a better indication of how your crops are progressing in your farm. [/p][h2]
[/h2][p][/p][h2]Translation Updates [/h2][p]Many improvements have been made to translations across all languages, driven by community requests. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Future Plans for Len's Island [/h2][p]We’ve got some exciting events happening this month! [/p][p][/p][p]We’ll be at Gamescom this week! Julian, the creator of Len’s Island, will be at the Fireshine booth in the Indie Arena on Thursday and Friday from 2–4 pm. Stop by to say hello, ask questions, and play Len’s Island at the booth.[/p][p][/p][p]We're planning the next major update live on stream! In the last week of August, Julian will also be hosting a livestream on our YouTube channel to talk through plans for the next major update. This build by Stripysocks is absolutely wild! Who would've thought you could use building pieces to create a full-on airship?! [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][h2]Amazing Pagoda Fortress[/h2][p][/p][p]Community member Axevalla's extravagant pagoda build is nothing short of epic. We can only imagine how long it took to create. One thing’s for sure: Voidling raids don’t stand a chance against this mighty fortress![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Show me the Stuff![/h2][p]

  • [p]Fixed bug that allowed quests to auto-complete on load without giving rewards.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that could make the quest UI not populate correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed lighting issue and optimised lighting performance.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Patch 1.0.12

[p]Hey all, so sorry this happened but a bug slipped thru the last build which caused load issues. These load issues would roll back town levels and crops most notably, and sometimes some other stuff too.

This has been fixed and will no longer happen, but if you loaded the game over the past 12 hours and got some rollbacks, all we can do is manually fix them ourselves. If you lost any progress from this bug, please submit a bug report and share your save files and email https://noteforms.com/forms/lens-island-bug-report-form?notionforms=1. In the report, tell us what you're missing and how you would like it returned. I will then manually add back in any lost town levels, or crop resources, etc, and send back your save file to your email.[/p][p][/p][p]Sorry again, hopefully it's the last time we ever have a bad bug like this. We will do whatever we can to help anyone affected and continue your progress.

  • [p]Fixed bug with the item drops that could cause some parts of the save file to not load correctly. Then, if the game was saved after that point, it would override and wipe town levels, crops, and some other save data. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Patch 1.0.11

  • [p]Item pickups on the ground now despawn after 1 hour of playtime (this helps avoid performance issues when large amounts of items are scattered on the ground).[/p]
  • [p]Killing bosses and lighting keystones give XP to everyone on the server.[/p]
[p][/p][h3]! Bugs fixed:[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed boats turning into helicopters when turning upside down, still possible to bug the physics, but it's now a lot harder.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that could cause trees to despawn temporarily if resource multiplayer was set to 2x.[/p]
  • [p]Chat messages, such as 'died', 'connected', and 'disconnected', now translate.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed boss names and outpost names not translating.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue causing quests to sometimes not load in the correct state.[/p][p][/p]
