Against the Storm – Quality of Life Update (1.7)[/h3][hr][/hr]Eremite Games is hard at work on new content, but in the meantime, they’ve released a
quality-of-life update with community-inspired improvements and balance adjustments.
The new
Town Statistics tab offers a breakdown of settlement data, including reputation sources, villager deaths, and resource usage. A
Global Effects tab has been added to the warehouse UI, summarizing all settlement-wide bonuses such as production speed and movement buffs. Production buildings now feature a
statistics tab displaying worker assignments, production speed, and double yield chances.

This includes modifiers like production speed, double production chance, movement speed, and season duration. It only displays global effects, so individual villager or building-specific bonuses remain separate.
Production buildings, camps, fishing huts, and mines now have their own
statistics tab, showing a breakdown of assigned workers, their production speed, and double yield chances.
While these stats offer a clearer picture of resource flow, they also provide useful insight when fine-tuning efficiency—whether it's checking how much double-yield chance a worker has or seeing the broader impact of production bonuses.
The update includes several UI and UX changes to improve accessibility and usability. World map modifier tooltips now display whether you’ve completed the corresponding deed, making it easier to track progress. Specialization icons in the in-game encyclopedia now have tooltips, providing additional details.
New settings have also been added, including an option to disable screen dimming during autosaves, a zoom sensitivity setting, and an automatic pause when alt-tabbed.
Two of the most notable additions in this update are
building mirroring and
more irregular building footprints. While these might seem like small changes, they provide more flexibility in shaping settlements and creating visually distinct layouts.
Against the Storm isn’t a game centered on customization or decor, but these features offer new ways to make towns feel more organic and unique.
