Tyrannis Development Diary 20th of September, 2020

Good morning! It’s time for another Dev Diary for Tyrannis, where we’ll be covering the new tutorial, graphical update, and two new game modes coming to Tyrannis in Update 1.3.0.

Tutorial

Update 1.3.0 includes a quick tutorial on the faction creation system. Didn't seem right for us to just give you a new feature without any instructions. And now that all our tech issues are sorted out, we wouldn't have an excuse if we didn't want to.

Graphics Overhaul

A new, fresh coat of paint that improves the interface of Tyrannis.
Whether it be the menus or the in-game UI, it's all getting an overhaul.

Capture the Eagle

In the Continental States, you might think people value the flag more than human life itself, but you'd be wrong.

No, they value the eagle on top of the flag more than human life. And the flag more than human life, too.

Capture the Eagle is similar to your normal Skirmish, except with Merc Players deploying only Level 2 Forts along with the Eagle when they select a Region.

Every five turns, the Player controlling the State with an Eagle will capture it, gaining one point. At the same time, a new Eagle will pop up in a random State in the Region.

Winner has the most Eagles by the end of the game.

Now get out there, and get those Eagles.

Survival Mode

In the Office of Secret Actions, Agents are trained for practically any scenario.

Coup? Easy, they could overthrow Caesar in a week.

Raids on CASS strongholds? Already been done.

Zombie invasion? Sure, why not?

What matters is being prepared.

Which brings us to our new mode, just in time for Halloween, Survival is a local singleplayer mode that pits the player against the zombie-infested Americas. Select your faction as you live on as the last hope

Move, fight, and fortify as you fight against the endless hordes.

Just watch out for those zombie-infestations. You know, the little black pieces with the zombie icons? Yeah, those'll add a couple defenders per level, and you'll have to clear them out, one by one.

Oh, and sure to manage your resources well. Forts are nice, but you'll need the manpower to build them. And you'll want them, too, with their +2 Defender bonus.

Remember: No mistakes. Training scenario or not, the OSA always plays to win.

Tyrannis is available for purchase on Steam, and Update 1.3.0 is available for free for all players.

Tyrannis Patch Notes 17th of August, 2020

Good morning! It’s time for another Update for Tyrannis, where we’ll be covering bug fixes for in Update 1.2.1.

Bug Fixes

  • Local Skirmishes with 7+ players will no longer have an intro glitch.
  • The game-breaking glitch for AI players has been fixed.
  • Typos in the battle number are fixed.
  • The faction intro for Local Skirmishes is the correct color.
Capture the Eagle

They say that in the CSA, people value the flag more than human life itself. Which, if we want to get technical, isn't true.

People value the Eagle that's on top of the flag more than human life itself.

While odd, the Eagle or Aquila is a tradition based on the exiled French Empire, and by extension, the Roman Empire. In those days, units were told that they ought to defend these Eagles with their lives. It is a tradition that their cousins, the Caesars of America, have continued to this day.

Capture the Eagle is a new game mode that will be featured in Tyrannis Update 1.3.0. Inspired by game modes such as Call of Duty's Domination and games like Stratego, Capture the Eagle has players fighting to control the Eagle in every Region of play, with new Eagles appearing every five turns.

Winner takes the most Eagles.

Capture the Eagle will be free with Tyrannis Update 1.3.0.

Tyrannis is available for purchase on Steam, and Update 1.2.1 is available for free for all players.
