Old Skies' voice lead, Sally Beaumont, honored as a BAFTA Breakthrough

When Wadjet Eye's Dave Gilbert joined a 2019 a game jam to play around with the idea that would eventually become his recent adventure game Old Skies, he asked actor Sally Beaumont to provide the voice of his jaded time-traveling protagonist, Fia.
Over the next six years, almost everything he came up with in that early demo would change -- but Sally's Fia remained. In addition serving the game's lead voice actor, Sally also helped shape the game's narrative as a script consultant.
Now Wadjet Eye is thrilled to share that Sally Beaumont's work on Old Skies has landed her a spot in this year's BAFTA Breakthrough cohort. Affiliated with the BAFTA arts charity, BAFTA Breakthrough showcases and helps accelerate the careers of the next generation of film, games, and TV talent.

"It does feel like an arrival that's been a long time coming," Sally says of her experience voicing Fia. "I've had a lot of smaller roles that show off one little element of what I can do, but a character like Fia has been rarer. I grew a lot and became braver as a performer. I really got to dig deep, which some of the smaller roles don't allow you to do."
