Built as an airline hub capable of operating 24 hours a day on an artificial island in Ise Bay, Chubu Centrair International Airport is used by domestic as well as Asian and European airlines. It is designed for operational efficiency, with taxiways functionally positioned to efficiently connect the runways with the passenger terminals.
