Patch 1.0.5 - Fire trucks, Japanese, Balancing & Bug Fixes
NEW
- Fire trucks are sent from the fire station and can stop fires (if too far or road is congested they will be 'teleported' to the building in flames, for now)
- Japanese localization
CHANGES/BALANCING
- Increased the part of citizens willing to use buses to commute to 75% (from 45%) (by rail is unchanged, at 75%)
- Multiplied by 2 the effect of pedestrian walkways on land value
- Enacting a policy now costs 10 stability points.
- Basic manufacturing will now only get built on lots that have a land value lower than $1500/sqm, making it easier to create zones targeting only advanced manufacturing.
- Further reduction to the speed at which citizens change social classes
- Further reduction to the number of jobs the economy creates
- Reduction of the amount of taxes paid by the upper class
- Multiplied the speed at which houses can be rebuilt when abandoned: 20x with 200k+ population, 8x with 100k+ population and 2x with 50k+ population.
- Multiplied the speed at which new buildings (Stage 1) can be built: 10x with 200k+ population, 4x with 100k+ population and 1.5x with 50k+ population.
- Reduced the probability of riots in large cities (100k+ pop).
- Reworked computation of the number of jobs that can be shared between connected cities.
BUG FIXES
- Added a workaround to force the city to complete the loading process to avoid corrupted save data and infinite loading time.
- Optimizations to the AI pathfinding system. Large cities with complex road networks were lagging with commuters taking very long routes, reportedly even turning in circles.
Commuters will now choose a closer workplace when that's the case and won't drive further than 500 road tiles (4km) except if they work in a neighbor city.
- Optimized vehicle sound effects
- Connected cities were not sharing population growth derived from births correctly. Population growth from births in the Stats tab now also count the influence of neighbor cities.
- Solar panel price button tooltip was incorrect
- Loading tips were not visible in 4:3 screen ratio
- Inflation is now limited to a range of -5% to +1000%. Extreme numbers were possibly responsible for crashing the computation of other variables.
- Changed the way data from parks is loaded to prevent them from loosing their effect on land value.
- Added a safeguard to prevent the game to crash if the window was reduced while being in the Nation view.
- Airport could be built outside of the map and then could not be destroyed.
- The budget was not displaying the treasury contribution bonus if not changed.
- Effect of policies on the environment was still inverted in some places of the UI including in the custom policy editor.

Patch 1.0.4 - Balancing and Bug Fixes
Changes/Balancing
- Changes to the land value algorithms: effect of education, health and security levels +20%. Decayed buildings effect -50%. Pollution effect -20%. Skyscrappers effect -30%.
- The economy creates a bit less jobs by default, differences between income classes further reduced. Effect of education on participation rate removed. Effect of unemployment increased. (low unemployment rate increases the participation rate)
- The zoning tool is now more tolerant and will proceed to build lots even when the cursor is above a built area
- Low income housing will now only be built if the land value is below the city's average instead of a fixed value.
- Changes to the inflation rate system. More stable equations, less punitive, especially when the unemployment rate becomes negative.
- The local currency can now have a higher value than the USD, enabling more control over the inflation rate.
- Added a loading icon to the launch screen. Smoother intro video.
Bug fixes
- Delete save game was not erasing some files and could cause problems in certain cases
- Added safeguards to the nation loading screen, should now open a new Nation automatically if last Nation can't be found or if data is unreadable.
- Trees could be transparent after loading a city without any tool being selected
- Alert messages were popping up while in pause
- Destroying all connections with an existing neighbor city could stop the city's growth.
- Pollution effect value in custom policy was inverted
- Custom policies on the right column could be selected but only the ones on the left side actually exist!
- Thousands of airplanes could apparently, in rare cases, spawn at the airport

If other serious issues are reported new patches will be uploaded. If not I will be able to work on additional content (unique buildings, new growables, fire truck...) and the improvement of the existing tools (roads especially).

Any bugs, balancing issues? Let me know!

Patch 1.0.3 - Bigger schools, delete nation, bug fixes
NEW
- New, larger school with 1800 capacity. If your school was already upgraded to stage 3 before the update you'll have to rebuild it.
CHANGES/BALANCING
- Revamped advanced manufacturing demand growth mechanic. Still requires high land value to get built!
- Middle and upper classes creates less jobs than before, making economic transitions less susceptible to induce an economic crisis. Remember to check your unemployment rate, a negative number is not a good sign!
- Divided by two the speed at which demand is lost when there is a lack of workforce
- Reduced the impact on the stability index from large building being abandoned
- University education level requirement lowered to 65
- Riots will now only appear with at least 10,000 population (before: 2,000)

- Multiplied by 2 the population growth derived from births
- Divided by 2 the population growth derived from immigration
- Reduced by 30% the number of citizens climbing the social ladder every week
- Increased policies' cost/income by 15%
BUG FIXES
- Slums spawning on the edge of the map could stop the city's growth and create saving issues.
- If an ambulance couldn't pathfind to its destination, the whole traffic simulation would stop.
- Building several highway or Avenue bridges successively could crash the building tools
- Arcologies and University unlocking requirements were not counting the national population as displayed but the local city's population instead.
- Airport was free to upgrade above stage 3
- Riots can now only happens in one place at a time, hopefully preventing ghost rioting sounds.
- After saving the selected game speed is 1 and the correct speed button is now shown active
- Changed GDP assigned variable type to fit larger values
- Stage 7 upper class buildings could be built on 4x3 lots (max stage on a 4x3 lot is 6).
- Arcologies population could be higher than the capacity
- Bus station button was displaying an incorrect capacity
- Less confusing news title about advanced manufacturing
- You could drain the national treasury indefinitely
- Edge scroll was deactivated after loading a city
- Interface volume level was not saved

Please keeping sending me those bug reports!

- Safer loading of road data to prevent initialization of 'bugged' road tiles.
- In the flag creator a large emblem positioned at the bottom could block the middle emblem button making it impossible to make further changes
- Fusion Power Plant and State Social Media were not detecting the policy option chosen and therefore could not be unlocked...
- Exiting the game while a state owned building was under construction was making it impossible to load the city back
- GDP value could be shortly inverted while the population count was being updated
- The loading bar could be changed with the mouse
- Political affiliations could exceed 100%
- Reduced fog density
- Rail and walkway tools would sometimes leave a red cube cursor behind
- An option was missing from the drug legislation
- Small parks were never saved and were possibly causing loading errors
- Budget was not counting the parks monthly cost
- Spanish translation 100% complete and support for (modded) Japanese translation.

Thanks again to everyone helping with bug reports and logs! Next update will be ready next week and will include the 'delete save' that so many of you have requested.

- Trying to destroy the same building twice successively would stop the city's growth
- Placing a service building on the edge of the map could stop the city's growth
- We can now place buildings on the beach
- Honking volume was not set to the cars' volume settings
- Advanced manufacturing land value requirement decreased by 25%
