Clay bodies and heads are live on "testing" branch!

[DISCLAIMER] In order to use the clay stuff we had to upgrade the Unity project so this *might* have broken a lot of things. We hope not, but we created a new "testing" branch for this update as its probably unstable.

Also Unity(the game engine NP is made in) has removed the resolution/quality dialog that appeared when you launched the game so you are now unable to choose your resolution through the game. NP will use the default resolution of your display. NP is designed for 1920 x 1080 - 16.9 ratio. Choose this manually if things look weird. We'll build our own resolution selection menu later.

We added help text to the new clay menu's but HAVE NOT updated the manual yet. We will be adding a tutorial video shortly. Check out these introvideos for more info.

To access the testing branch Right Click NP in your Steam Library and choose "Properties"

In the field "Enter Beta access..." enter letmebreakstuff and press the Check Code button- then in the popup choose the testing branch- you need to be on the "testing" branch.

Since there's a lot of new code the download is about 4.5gb- sorry about that- future updates will be smaller.

Please report any bugs you have to our Github repo here or if thats too much trouble report them as comments to this post(screenshots etc are very helpful in fixing bugs)

Please submit any ideas you have for features/things you want to be able to do and we'll do our best.

By request we will be now be working on a Clay Prop Making menu where you'll be able to make props out of clay and use them in NP like any other prop(thanks Jolsh for the idea).

Then we will be adding body and head import to NP. You will be able to use any Daz, Mixamo, or Makehuman heads and bodies inside NP- we will also add better prop import.

If you want to see if your .fbx body will work in NP in the near future try adding it here

For props try here

That's the asset we are using(upgrading) so if your model works there it will work in NP in a future version.

That's all for now, please let us know how the clay works OR doesn't work haha.

So again, sorry there's no resolution/quality menu- Unity removed it and didn't provide a replacement so we'll make our own when this new stuff is in a non test/beta release.

*** IGNORE the new "add 3d model" menu as I'm still working on it ^_^

New Beta with small bug fixes + more updates soon!

If you didn't know- Imagination Rabbit is also a film/animation studio. The image above is a spec poster from our new animated feature film "M doll".

* Notice that the second head from the bottom is an NP head that we painted a different texture on.

You can check out the teaser trailer here

We were away from working on Nightmare Puppeteer as we were working on that film. Our work on the film is now finished so its back to Nightmare Puppeteer!

Btw- we used NP to produce a few segments used in the film itself.

We just uploaded a new update to NP on the BETA branch which fixed a few bugs that were submitted from users. If you submitted a bug in the past 6 months or so check its status here as we might have added a fix for it.

If you are still having issues please reply or submit a new issue to our github page- thanks!

We will continue to work through those issues while prototyping some crazy new features in NP in our quest to MAKE EVERYTHING STRANGER.

Please submit your feature requests to our github page or as a comment to this post.

Also! Check out these awesome new made with NP videos by Slipgate!

Beat In Babaloo The Underground Crash of Glass
Nicotine Buzz

and more from other Puppeteerians!

Everybody right now by JetPack

The loudest sound by The Strange Man Band

Check the video post thread on the NP Discussion Steam forum thing for more!

P.S.

It doesn't look like anyone has tapped into or used the rich Twitch integration NP has or its ability to generate procedural cartoons. Check the NP tutorials and Manual for more info on those features.

Added Scenes, props and new features!

The default branch of the game is now synced with the beta version which means if you were not on the beta branch there lots of new weird stuff to play with.

Wiggle, green, invisible NPC's + new pricing

Hey there puppet peoples!

Be sure and join the beta branch for all the newest NP stuff! We explained how a few posts back if ya don't know.

We probably forgot some new features but here's a few-

There's some new scenes- CYBERPUNK 1977, KEY ME! and FOREST AT NIGHT

Our cyberpunk scene is GUARANTEED to have LESS BUGS than Cyberpunk 2077 and the bugs we do have are much more entertaining.

Stalk whomever you want at night... in the forest.

Want to use green screen NP footage in other projects? Now you can!

We added a ton of new props a few updates back, we might have doubled the number of available props.

This discoball is probably our favorite.

We're still improving it but we added a Scene Option to make props wiggle when they detect the start of speech, we're going to change this soon so they wiggle as long as speech is playing.

The newest thing we just added is out lousiest new feature! If you have any saved actors they are now available inside the level editor to add to your scenes. You can find them at the top of the level editor icons. Their icon's don't render for some reason 0_0 So every choice is a surprise!

We will be drastically reducing the price of Nightmare Puppeteer soon so don't unload your bowels when you see the new price. We thank you all for purchasing it at the original price. You were so nice we decided to continuing to update NP instead of throwing it in a ditch and making a flappy bird FPS walk simulator clone instead.

We have some crazy new features planned for NP near future including a working telephone so you can crank call other users and more.

With imagination and ears,

Imagination Rabbit

Empty scenes just like real life!

I finally updated Nightmare Puppeteer fulfilling a few requests from you Puppeteerians...

You can now move/scale/rotate any of the people in the scenes using the level editor (request by Jolsh?) and you have a few new options available. The new options are in the Scene Options menu on the third page-

You can choose to make Actor1 and/or Actor2 invisible in the scenes. This was a request by super ultimate alpha Puppeteerian "Same Skeleton Different Closet"

You can choose to have no people at all in the scenes you can be in lonely places like this now...

You can also choose to have ZERO toilets in the scenes though I'm not sure how that is going to work out?!

If you check the discussion forum for NP I pinned a topic with a link to a new head and a few bodies you can try out. This is me testing out the process in which I will add your requests to NP.

Since I just added the new stuff and didn't get a chance to fully test them NP 1.1.8 which is the newest version is on the beta branch...so wtf does that mean?

It means to use it you must right click the game in your library and choose "Properties"

Then in the popup menu select the "Beta-testy" branch-

It will then download the update which is only 4.9mb.

You can switch back to the main branch whenever you want if shit is all fucked up bruh-

When you switch back be careful not to switch to the 32bit branch if you don't know what that is- its a potato version of NP for potato PC's.

Anyway, keep making weird shit ^_^
