V6.0 News and Progress!

Hey everyone,

I would like to share the progress of V6.0!

As I move forward with new content updates, I'll be making a News post for each update that will hold a running list of additions/changes that are planned for that upcoming patch. These posts will be updated every couple of days so be sure to keep an eye on them if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.

The new update should be ready in roughly 5-7 days and you can read more about it further down the post.

NEW CONTENT:

ADDED - The Water House: Can be built as a stand alone building that when turned on will pump clean water into sinks. It requires 100 power to run.

ADDED - Sink: Sinks can be built anywhere in your base and will provide fresh clean filtered water for your flasks if they are located within range of a powered Water House. More of a late game thing once you have the power capabilities to maintain running it.




ADDED - Clothing Rack: This was a very popular suggestion and also a very good one. The Clothing Rack can hold up to 10 items. 6 items on hangers like shirts, pants etc and 4 smaller items like caps and boots at the bottom.




ADDED - Greenhouse: This is a prefab building that will allow auto irrigation and is temperature controlled. Any Plant Bed growing food within the greenhouse will maintain a "watered" status as long as a powered Water House is within range. Great way to keep plants safe & warm for winter!




ADDED - A Fire Pot: Early game, cheap to build light source. Players have been asking for such a thing for some time now. It will only require 5 Iron Fragments and 10 Plant Fiber to make. There is no fuel requirements, can be toggled on/off and is movable.




ADDED - Wooden Stairs: Also a popular suggestion, these stairs are straight and centered within a foundation section.

ADDED - Wooden Railing Opening: This new railing is design to fit well with the new stairs, see images below

ADDED - Flat Roof Corner: This roof section will allow for a few more build design options.



ADDED - 5 New furniture types that are only cosmetic at this point.
1 - Leather Couch 1
2 - Leather Couch 2
3 - Leather Chair
4 - Wood Chair
5 - Wood Cabinet



ADDED - I have added a new furniture filter type in the placeable tab.




CHANGES:

CHANGED - When turning off fire on forges, campfires etc with water from flask, it would use up all the water in the flask. Now it will only use 1 water.
CHANGED - Reduced Weight of Rope from 0.25 lbs to 0.2 lbs
CHANGED - Reduced Weight of Stone and Bone arrows from 0.4 lbs to 0.3 lbs
CHANGED - Reduced Weight of Tallow from 2 lbs to 0.2 lbs
CHANGED - Reduced Weight of Cloth from 0.5 lbs to 0.2 lbs
CHANGED - Reduced Weight of Plastic from 1 lbs to 0.5 lbs
CHANGED - Oil Lamp light radius increased
CHANGED - T-Shirt Mesh
CHANGED - Cooling Shirt Mesh
ADDED - More bulk crafting recipes. Biofuel x 5, Plastic x 5, Bone Shard x 5, Kevlar x 3




BUG FIXES:

BUGFIX - Issue where pillars could sometimes not be placed on foundations

V5.7 Hotfix

Hi everyone, a few more bug fixes.


BUGFIX - Could start the mineral extractor with no fuel in it if the extract stones only box was checked off.
BUGFIX - Could not interact with fouldation pieces under water, such as delete the ghost or add materials.
BUGFIX - UI would sometimes get stuck while interacting with chests and other placeables. Could not close the stuck UI even with escape and required a task manager game close resulting in lost progress.

V5.6 Hotfixes

Hi everyone,

A few more bug fixes.

BUGFIX - The helmet light could be toggled on/off when wearing a cap.
BUGFIX - Could switch weapon slot while holding a watermelon. This would result in you seeing both the watermelon and weapon on screen at the same time.
BUGFIX - Jumping with the watermelon in hand would show the arms jumping animation and would result in the watermelon floating in air.
BUGFIX - Seemed to still have a bug when moving built wind turbines. The blades would look transparent.
BUGFIX - Placing food items in the mineral extractor chest would pause the perish timer.
BUGFIX - If you save/quit game while standing on the frozen water in the winter and you reload the game, players would start under the ice and get stuck there.

V5.5 Hotfix

Hi everyone,

Once again another hotfix. This should be the last for a while pending any game breaking bugs before the next content update.

CHANGE - Ghosts of building parts such as walls, foundations etc no longer have collisions. Previously you could walk on foundations for example even if not constructed. This change is necessary for the getting ready of the new AI system.

CHANGE - Adjustment the new jumping Vambie behavior, reduced jump height.

FIXED - Was able to duplicate object being moved using the N key by quickly hitting Tab after the move.

FIXED - Moving the wind turbine would result in the blades looking transparent or like the white ghost
mesh before its constructed.

ADDED - Japanese and Polish language cultures added.

OPTIMIZATION - I managed to reduce more texture sizes without much of a visual impact. This mainly helps reduce memory usage,

V5.4 Hotfix

Hi everyone, a few more fixes and changes.


OPTIMIZATION - In the winter, the frozen water was causing performance issues. I have made some changes to improve this. It is normal to see a drop in FPS in the winter and when it rains as I add an additional function to handle wetness and snow but it should be less of an impact now.

CHANGE - Vambies step height increased, this will result in them jumping on Foundations.

FIXED - Swarm attack Vambies would sometimes get stuck in the river resulting in the event not terminating after what would appear no more vambies were attacking. I increased their step and jump height to resolve this issue. Its still not perfect and may still get stuck but not as often as before. I will not work too hard on this issue as a new AI system is almost complete and will spend my energy and time making sure this issue is fully resolved on that new system.

FIXED - Forge fire would turn off when raining even if in base. This would only happen if the ceiling above the forge was 2 stories high or more.

FIXED - Would hear water footsteps when crouching.
