V11.0 Progress Report and Info!

Hey everyone!

We'd like to introduce you to the upcoming patch - V11.

This update will introduce major additions and changes to both the AI and the Building System. As with other patches, it will also include some smaller changes & balance tweaking.

This post will be updated as we have new information so be sure to keep an eye on it/check it from time to time if you'd like to keep tabs on stuff coming down the pipeline.

[h2]AI Additions and Changes[/h2]

The basic Vambies within the game have undergone another update/change in V11; you'll find some of the larger changes coming with this patch located below in list format. However! Players should keep in mind that the tweaks to the AI should increase the difficulty of fighting Vambies in a significant fashion. Their new attack animations are quicker/more fluid and may provide a new level of difficulty to adjust to/learn. In addition they will now move/sway more, making a headshot less of a sure thing.

Also please note that their ranged ability to throw a knife has been disabled, as the animation is undergoing some tweaks/improvements.


  • New AI Vambie models added.
  • Various new AI animations.
  • New group behavior system. (2 to 5 AI roaming the map together)
  • New group attack patterns. (Varied engagement behaviors- dodging, taunting, attacking, etc)

Some new basic construction shapes will be added.

The construction tab now has a few filters to make finding pieces easier!

A wooden sign that players can craft and write upon.

[h2]Weapon based Game Markers[/h2]

Players have often expressed that they lose track of thrown spears and fallen arrows- there will now be a marker for each object on landing so that they can be more easily found and picked up.




[h2]New Hunger System[/h2]

There's been an overhaul to the food stat system.
Previously, when each stat was at 0, health would slowly drop. In this new system, the 4 food stats (Carbs, Proteins, Fats and Vitamins) will all contribute to a new Hunger Bar.

- If your hunger bar is less than 10%, a player will slowly lose health.

- If your hunger bar is less than 75%, your max stamina will be reduced. (Min Stamina capped at 50)
Example: If your max stamina is 100 and your hunger bar is 62%, your new Stamina Max will be:
100 * 0.62 = 62

Under the old hunger system eating a Meat Stew would add 1 point to your maximum attained heath. A new, smaller bar has been added to display the progress of your next max state 'level up'. This will allow for fractional improvements and allow for more depth/complexity to the food & hunger system, versus only eating meat stew(s).

[h2]Potato Pie and Mix[/h2]

2 new food recipes join the list- Potato Pie and Potato Pie Mix!
While the Potato Pie Mix can be eaten and offers some vital stats increase, it is primarily used to craft the Potato Pie using the stove. Potato Pie is a solid all around food type that increases multiple vital stats.

Potato Pie Recipe and stats
1 X Potato Mix (On the stove)
+ 5 Thirst
+10 Carbs
+10 Proteins
+10 Fats
+10 Vitamins
+10 Energy
+0.30 Sun Resistance

Potato Pie Mix Recipe and stats
1 X Raw Meat
1 X Pumpkin Slice
3 X Potatoes
1 X Onion




[h2]Pumpkins & Jack O'Lanterns[/h2]

Pumpkins can be harvested much like other plants in the wild and/or grown on plant beds -harvesting a pumpkin will provide seeds.

To celebrate the approach of Halloween, players can build Jack O'Lanterns- the perfect light source to enhance the night.




[h2]Other Additions and Changes[/h2]

ADDED - Take all Button to the Brick Drying Crate.
CHANGE - 65% chance at obtaining seeds and sprouts from harvesting Veggies and fruits. (Previously 100%)
BUGFIX - Upgrading the wooden pillar to cement was changing the location of the pillar.
CHANGE - Food(s) will no longer increase max caps on proteins, carbs, fats and vitamins. (Due to the new hunger system, this has become unnecessary)
CHANGE - On character death, players will now lose 1 max health rather than 5.

V10.3 Small Update!

Hi Everyone,

This update contains a few bug fixes and a couple of additions.

BUGFIX - Bug with greenhouse where players would open/shut the door at the same time as interacting with a plant bed.

BUGFIX - Greenhouse doors would not show when being constructed in Free Build Mode.

BUGFIX - Free Upgrade and Repair was dependent on God Mode being enabled. This was my error and should have been when Free Build was enabled.

BUGFIX - When adding fuel to both the mineral and clay extractors, it would consume the entire stack. Now it will only take what is needed and add the balance of the fuel stack back into your inventory.

ADDED - New transfer stacks key binding added in the game settings.. Previous players had no choice but to hold left shift to transfer stacks. This was resulting in some potential conflicts with other key actions.

ADDED - Hat: New craftable hat that players can wear. Can be crafted on the workbench. Increases your Sun Resistance by 50% , +1 Armor and -3 Heat.

Recipe:

3 X Cloth



ADDED - Durability on tooltips....
A way to visually know the durability left of weapons, tools and gears has been requested by many recently.








V10.2 Hot Fixes!

Hi Everyone,

A few more fixes and changes.

- FIXED: Large Gate texture issue when in free build mode. Doors would remain with the ghost texture.
- FIXED: Fridge texture issue when in free build mode. Doors would remain with the ghost texture.
- FIXED: Hypothermia and heatstroke animations and icons removed in God Mode.
- FIXED: Truck would fall through the ice, Collisions now set and you can drive it on the ice.

V10.1 Hotfix!

Hi everyone,

Just a couple of fixes.

- Fixed: Truck was having issues going through the large metal gate if fences were close to it. Basically the issue was an invisible collision box on each side of the fence for the snapping feature. This collision box was not set to ignore the truck.

- Change: Some are still reporting an issue with the distiller but I am unable to reproduce this issue on my end. I made a few changes to how it works in the hopes that it corrects any lingering issues.

After V10.1 is installed, please let me know if the distiller is still causing issues.

V10.0 Update

Hey everyone!

So V10.0 is now live on all branches.

Please report any bugs to the bug report section here on Steam. When possible please form one thread for each bug versus multiple threads for the same issue- it helps keep the community information together.

  1. The addition of a Vehicle that can store/carry large amounts of loot/material.

[h2]New Truck Vehicle:[/h2]

This vehicle will be randomly spawned in a damaged state in a village location. Players will need to find & repair the truck it can be used, and it will require gasoline to run.

Repair cost:

15 x Mechanical Parts
20 x Iron Ingots
20 x Steel Ingots
25 x Plastic

Some vehicle features below:

  • Fully functional dashboard gauges (speedometer, RPM, Fuel Tank)
  • Interactive doors, hood and cargo box
  • The vehicle bed can hold logs, chests or stone crates. 2 stone crates, as many chests as you can fit (you can stack them very.....very high), or 21 logs - can even toss some stone crates on your stack of chests. (While the truck was being worked on to carry placeables, that feature has been removed, the idea may be revisited at a future time).
  • A flip button... In the event that this vehicle is stuck or upside down for example.
  • First Person driving view. (I may eventually add a third person view)
  • Head Lights added.
  • Added a truck/vehicle marker on the map.






[h2]New Buildings:[/h2]

The Garage:

The garage is a pre built building that players can construct (similar to the Greenhouse). This building's primary function is to be able to recall/teleport your truck back to base should you die or should it get stuck and you are unable to drive it. Simply looking at the building and pressing [E] will teleport the truck inside it.

Construction Materials:

60 x Clay
24 x Planks




[h2]New Crafting Stations:[/h2]

The Oil Distiller:

This new placeable will allow players to craft gasoline for use with the truck. It functions similar to the forge by using a wood based fire to boil Oil Cans and produce gasoline. It requires 5 Oils Cans to produce 1 Gas Can.

Materials Needed:

20 x Iron Ingots
3 x Aluminum Ingots
3 x Plastic
8 x Planks




[h2]New Items:[/h2]

Gas Can: Produced using 5 Oils Cans on the Oil Distiller station.


Crossbow: Upgraded range weapon of the Bow. Deals double the damage and a greater durability.
Bolt: Used as the new Crossbow projectile.



Wool: Can be obtained by harvesting Sheep.
Carpet: Rectangular carpet made from wool.
Round Carpet: Round carpet made from wool.

Wool only has this one use at this time but I have plans to introduce new items that will require it in the near future.




Large Metal Gate: Double the width of the regular Wooden Gate and large enough to allow the Truck to pass through. It also has more durability than the wooden gate, from 400 to 2500.

Recipe:

75 X Iron Ingots
10 X Mechanical Parts
25 X Screws




Garbage Container: Placeable garbage bin designed for players to discard unwanted items quickly. When interacting with this container, players will see 2 buttons.

Button 1: Drop all items.. A quick swap of all items from your inventory to the container.
Button 2: Discard items.. Basically a confirmation button to destroy and delete all the items in the bin.

Recipe:

25 X Iron Ingots




[h2]Map and Environment:[/h2]

A new road system will be included in this update. This will be useful when trying to drive to locations with the new vehicle.




[h2]Creative Settings:[/h2]

A few more game settings to allow players to build freely without the need to acquire technology and gather resources.

- Free Build: Allows all base construction and placeables to be built with no resource cost.

- Technologies: Toggle the need for technology blueprints. Disabling this setting will remove all technology prerequisites.

- God Mode: Enabling this setting will grant players immunity to all damage and pause all stat depletion.




[h2]Changes and Additions:[/h2]

CHANGE - Fish in ponds: Some behavior changes that seems to help performance when in range of many fish.
CHANGE - Added the ability to add/remove the Crossbow on the Weapons Rack.
CHANGE - Can now move/relocate gates.
CHANGE - Moved gates into the building/construction section. (Previously in the Others section)
ADDED - Added Shift+RMB to move complete stacks and changed Alt+RMB to move single items.
ADDED - Added Shift+RMB to move stacks of Iron Fragments to forge.
CHANGE - Solar Battery name changed to Battery Storage.
CHANGE - Solar Battery Tech BP name changed to Battery Tech BP.
ADDED - Take All button added to the brick forge.
CHANGE - Replaced the text of the Take All button in the storage chests with an arrow icon and tooltip.
ADDED - A pause game button added to the keybindings.
ADDED - Bulk recipe for Crossbow Bolts.
