V3.0 Alpha Update

Hi Everyone,

Today's update adds some new content, some bug fixes and some changes. The primary focus was to add an additional step to base building (Planks Required) and to add a few more build options such as roofs.

No restart will be required, see below for the complete list of changes and additions.

New Content

ADDED - The Sawbench: Base construction will now require planks. These planks can be made with the sawbench. 1 log will make 2 planks.
ADDED - Planks: needed to build specific things such as foundations, walls, storage chests etc.
ADDED - Plank Stand: Storage stand for planks.



ADDED - New construction sections. This is just the start of the addition of more build options sections. I will continuously be adding more.
1) Flat Roof
2) Slopped Roof
3) Single Foundation Roof
4) Interior Half Wall



ADDED - Bones... Bones can be acquired by killing animals in the same way meat, fat etc is obtained. Bones can be used to craft an upgrade to the stone spear and stone arrows.
1) Animal Bones: dropped by animals
2) Bone Spear: Upgrade to the Stone Spear. 30% more damage, 40% more durability.
3) Bone Arrow: Upgrade to the Stone Arrow. Only a slight 5% more damage but these arrows never break, 100% return. Stone Arrows have a 50/50 of breaking.
4) Bone Shard: Bone Shards can be crafted on the advanced workbench. These shards are required to craft the Bone Spear and Arrow.



ADDED - The Log Cart. This cart can be built like any other placeable and used to transport up to 11 Logs.



ADDED - Ingot Shelves: Some new storage shelves to hold your smelted ingots. There are 3 types of these babies available to you, Iron, Copper and Aluminium storage shelves. Each one can hold up to 20 ingots.



ADDED - Cosmetic Base Props: 2 New tables for decoration only currently. I do have a plan to make them usable in the future but strictly cosmetic for now.



New Stuff and Changes

ADDED - New ways to split your items. You can now now split items in your inventory by expanding an item with a right mouse click. You can split by 1 and in half. This feature will only work if you have room in your backpacks.



ADDED - Material cost for repairs. All base repairs, fencing and gates will now require materials in order to repair.
1) Wood Sections: 1 Plank per 25% damage.
2) Wood Foundation: 2 Planks per 25% damage.
3) Concrete Sections: 1 Cement per 25% damage.
4) Concrete Foundation: 2 Cements per 25% damage.
5) Brick Sections: 1 Brick per 25% damage.
6) Wood Gate: 2 Planks per 25% damage.

ADDED - Player crouch (self explanatory)

ADDED - More bulk crafting recipes
1) Bone Arrow x 5
2) Bandage x 5
3) Cloth x 5
4) Tallow x 5

ADDED - Players have been asking for the Escape button to close any UI once on screen. Well it has now been added.

CHANGE - Log Stands can no longer be moved when logs are loaded on it.
CHANGE - Quite a few placeables have changed recipe to include Planks instead of Logs.
CHANGE - Most wood construction parts now include planks in order to build.
CHANGE - Stone Spear recipe now requires sticks and not firewood.
CHANGE - Picked up arrows go directly in quiver

Bug Fixes

BUG FIX - Health can go into the negative if drinking dirty water fixed.
BUG FIX - Moving a chest with the player on it would also move the player.
BUG FIX - Backpack weight was not being modified when items were being removed when upgrading structures.
BUG FIX - Backpack weight was not being modified when adding items to the Mixer.
BUG FIX - Having multiple metal stoves was creating an issue of pots and pans disappearing.
BUG FIX - Animals would sometimes have a strange rotation, especially when on slopes. They would run backwards etc.
BUG FIX - Large Flask would not turn off forges when water added as a fuel source.
BUG FIX - Dirty water in Large Flask would change from dirty to clean if moved into storage chests.
BUG FIX - Dropping Flask/Large Flask on the ground with dirty water in it would change the water to clean.
BUG FIX - Dropped bulk crafting items that did not fit in your inventory when crafting would read a quantity of 1.













V2.5 Hotfix

HOTFIX !

BUG FIX - Tech Blueprints were not spawning in camps if you set Vambie spawn to disabled.

Please re start a new game if you recently started with no Vambie spawns. (Swarm spawns off was not an issue)

V2.4 Update

Hi Everyone,

Yet another small update for you all.

I have primarily focused on the gameplay settings and allowing for load games to be able to modify them. I have added 2 new settings that will allow players to have full control over all AI in the game. This will allow for a full peaceful mode should you desire it.

Note to players loading their games for the first time after this update. When you select your file to load, please make sure to adjust all your settings as some defaults may be there. This is just for the first load, the next time all the settings will be saved.

See below for the complete list of changes.



ADDED - 2 new gameplay settings. You will now be able to customize your load game settings as well.
1) Toggle on/off of spawning predator animals.
2) Toggle on/off of all Vambie spawning, including the ones guarding the camps.



ADDED - The Wolf. A new animal is now roaming the land.



ADDED - Added a confirmation to quit game, some have been quitting without saving by mistake.

CHANGE - I have made some changes to Foxes.
1) Reduced run speed.
2) Reduced damage done to 5. (previously 10)
3) Reduced the aggro range to 5 feet. (previously 200 feet) You will need to be very close for them to run after you.

CHANGE - Changes to bear
1) Changed bear mesh and animations
2) Reduced bear aggro range to 200 feet. (previously 300 feet)
3) Bear HP increased from 150 to 200.

CHANGE - Decreased stone spear melee damage from 50 to 25. Throwing Spear has no damage change.
CHANGE - Increased dead Boar fat drop from 4 to 6.
CHANGE - Increased spear range.
CHANGE - 50/50 chance of vambies dropping kevlar, no longer 100%
CHANGE - Random drop of a second item from killing and harvesting Vambies.
CHANGE - Cap now requires 8 Plant Fiber to make, down from 10.

BUG FIX - Splitting items off a crafting station after a recipe was validated and could be crafted, would not run the recipe check again and players could still craft the item.
BUG FIX - Wandering Vambies were supposed to spawn 1 every 5 mins. Many were telling me that they were constantly spawning so I went to look at code. I had set it to 5 seconds instead of 5 mins by mistake, BAHHHH

V2.3 Update

Hi Everyone,

I am doing yet again another small update to address primarily some issues with the swarm attacks. It would seem that the old way of doing things was resulting in many reports of players never getting any or getting them too frequently. I have made some changes and added some new game settings for those who with to customize things.

Keep in mind this is a very basic settings panel and will be worked on with more options very soon. Any already started games will have all the default settings. (see below for defaults)

ADDED - Settings
1) Start day: The first game day you want swarms to start. (Default 10)
2) Spawn quantity: The number of initial Vambies spawned. Each subsequent swarm attack, the number of spawned Vambies will be increaed by 1. (Default 3)
3) Swarm frequency: Swarm attack frequency in game days after the initial first swarm attack. (Default 3)
4) Enable/Disable: Enable or Disable all swarm attacks. (Enabled)

CHANGES - Swarm Vambies will now spawn differently. Previously they all spawned at the center of the map and rushed towards you all at the same time. Now they will spawn in a 360 degree radius of the player. This will result in Vambies not all attacking your base at the same time and in different locations.

CHANGE - Please take note that each subsequent swarm attack will now spawn + 1 Vambie in the swarm, max 15.



CHANGE - Season length now doubled, you will now experience your first winters later.

ADDED - Quite a few players expressed the need have some way to craft more items with one click. Example, crafting 20 Rope was long and annoying. Since this is a recipe based system, I have created new recipes to craft larger outputs. These recipes can be found in a new tab called Bulk Items in the Itempedia. For now I have added only a few recipes but will keep adding to it over time.



BUG FIX - I would despawn fish when players move too far from the lakes to save on performance but would also despawn the one caught.. I will now check if attached to a spear. This was only an issue for player that had a base far from ponds/lakes.

BUG FIX - Some changes made to UI scalling. Some players with low resolution monitors were experience issues with the UI cutting off screen.

BUG FIX - Issue with splitting items resolved.

V2.2 Update

Hi Everyone,

A few bug fixes.

BUG FIX - Fruit Salad description modified to read +1 Stamina when consumed.
BUG FIX - L-ALT + R-Mouse to move items, would sometimes result in the item having a negative weight.
BUG FIX - L-ALT + R-Mouse to move food items from your backpack to a chest would reset the perish time timer.
BUG FIX - Pressing drink on a flask with 0 dirty water would remove health as if you were drinking actual dirty water.
BUG FIX - The Health/Stamina bars when toggled visible and you open your inventory, it would toggle off.
BUG FIX - Fixed a bug where dry bricks in the Brick Drying Crate would duplicate.
BUG FIX - When moving items in the inventory, sometimes the inventory slot index would get messed up. This would result in a ghost item that players would not be able to move.
