Halloween '25

It's that time of year again. We've had a Halloween event every year since launch, and this year's no different. There will be a bunch things to find and do, including plenty of unique items and previews.

There will also be a shop you can only find during Halloween but is open all year once you do find it. Plus it'll be no surprise that we'll be sharing an access code or two in our Discord server... maybe even for a completely new unique phone. Check it out here:

The killing business

Today we've got a few smaller things for you. The focus is on Willow's potential career as a contract killer. This was old content, so was well overdue a refresh. But don't worry, there's plenty more planned for Willow too.

Irene also had a fair bit of work; as mentioned on a recent Patreon developer commentary, more and more work is going into the NPCs' inner lives, and it was Irene's turn next. The game now simulates in the background what she's up to with her crew, how much pain her arm is giving her and other things. And, of course, there's a lot more planned for her too.

Trade relations is slightly more advanced content for people familiar with the airport. It's primarily a way to use your outside trade info for now, but it also ties into the start of establishing an international trade network. And for that, you'll need to have contacts dotted around the world, such as Crissi, Zane or Kristoff (more options to follow).

And don't forget the Halloween event, coming very soon!

Scavenger

Yes, it was long overdue, but A dust storm has finally had an overhaul. It was one of the first pieces of content that I wrote, in early 2014, and the first locked-in dynamic scene, and it hadn't really had any work since. Its mechanics are now up to the newer standard, and it has a load more random events that can happen while you're out in the storm... plus it can no longer go on forever and ever on each run. I've also added some hooks that will tie into the full weather simulation I'm planning for the long term... maybe I should write something about that over on Patreon.

Scavenging in the dump has had a similar treatment, with more diversity of things to find and some random events that can crop up along the way. Also as a part of that, there new and exciting ways to get poisoned and stuck with a sharp object – but also more ways to protect yourself.

Other than that, there's the usual load of tweaks and changes (not everything goes into the changelog, so you can find some stuff for yourself). Most notable is probably more work on filling out all the NPC interactions for body modding.
Halloween event
Halloween is our next event; this one's shorter than the others during the year, but there's still a fair amount going on. It starts on 2025-10-26 and lasts for a week or so.
