Animaze Next-Version Update: Idles, Props, and New UI functionality

Hello Awesome People!

We’ve updated the Animaze “Next-Version” branch with several key improvements; some of them will allow us to catch infrequent issues faster, and help with troubleshooting.

Desktop Changelog:

  • Added new idles, to make it easier to use holdable props for folks who don't use any form of hand tracking (though they are really fun when you
  • do* use hand tracking): microphone and coffee mug holdables for those morning coffee moments and Karaoke streams.
  • Added UI warnings about typical experience “debuffs”: Bad framerate during streaming or issues with internet connectivity on start are sure to throw a wrench in your streaming experience. Low fps warnings, low average fps during broadcast warnings, and network connectivity warnings will pop up in the UI, letting you know there are problems, and that there are settings that might need adjustment (in and out of Animaze) to improve the output. Depending on feedback, more debuff detectors will be added in the future, for instance, below-ideal input camera FPS or jittery tracking input that can (and should) be addressed by dialing up the smoothing sliders.
  • Fixed a bug where reset keys in the Control panel are not properly displayed.
  • Fixed a bug where unbound keys are not saved
  • Fixed a non-start issue, where there was no detectable network adapter.
  • Fixed a bug with changing the model for ChatPal in the OpenAI settings panel
  • Various other fixes and optimizations.

Please let us know your experience with this build before it makes it to the live branch in a day or two. Here is info on how to switch branches: https://www.animaze.us/faq/animazedesktop/navigatebranches .

  • added 6 new three-point light presets.

  • fixed shoulders offset issue for generic animations (mannequin animations).

Known issues
  • the switch between generic Mannequin and Mixamo animations is snappy.

Animaze update v. 1.26.12540 - Animaze ChatPal more expressive animations

Hello animazing community,

We've updated the Animaze ChatPal animation infrastructure to support emotion-specific body language animations. An initial set, to give you a taste, is already provided on the mannequin but we encourage you to build bespoke crafted versions, specific to your character.
Desktop Changelog
• changes to Animaze ChatPal:
    • added over 90 emotion-specific idle and talking animations.
    • fixed inworld timeout issue (after 30 minutes interacting with the AI would trigger a reconnect to inworld invalidating the current context).
  • added PerfectSync for VRM 1.0 animation standard called PerfectSync_1_1. By default, an imported VRM 1.0 model which has more than half of the ARKit blendshapes would be automatically promoted to PerfectSync, but that does not cover having a very reduced set of the ARKit blendshapes and still wanting PerfectSync. The Animation Standard can only be changed in the Animaze Editor.
  • increased range for Clip Mask size slider for Live2D models.
  • fixed peculiar interaction between dedicated special actions and generalized idle anims, returning to default mannequin idle even if not selected.
Editor Changelog
• added PerfectSync for VRM 1.0 animation standard called PerfectSync_1_1. By default, an imported VRM 1.0 model which has more than half of the ARKit blendshapes would be automatically promoted to PerfectSync, but that does not cover having a very reduced set of the ARKit blendshapes and still wanting PerfectSync.
  • fixed issue changing Animation Standard and the Mannequin Animation retargeting not resetting.
Known issues
• the switch between generic Mannequin and Mixamo animations is snappy.
  • VRM & RPM avatar imported with 1.26.12519 build will have a reduced set of ChatPal emotion-specific animations. The workaround is to delete the avatar and reimport it.

Animaze update v1.26.12519 - ChatPal w/ Inworld AI

Hello awesome folks,

We have integrated Inworld AI in Animaze ChatPal as an alternative LLM + voice engine solution.

Inworld AI enables you to fully customize the AI Brain that powers the Animaze avatar, to craft characters with distinct personalities and contextual awareness that stay in-world. Keep in mind that an Inworld AI account and additional fees for Inworld AI services will be needed beyond the Inworld initial free usage allotment.
