Myth of Empires - New Servers; Greece DLC Buildings Sneak Peek

The Myth of Empires Jade Era servers will be officially launched on April 19 at 17:00 UTC. The Jade Era servers are comprised of 6 prefectures, each consisting of 8 individual counties. The Jade Era servers feature settings tailored for new players. They only serve the North American and European regions, and are separate from the servers of other regions as well as the Classic Era and New Era servers. Jade Era servers only interact with other Jade Era servers.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the new content we’d like to show off in this dev log: the new structures that will make their debut in the upcoming Greece DLC for Myth of Empires.

The architectural style of ancient Greece was characterized by the use of durable materials such as marble, limestone, and bricks, which provided a noble and elegant texture. The use of columns was common, including both multi-column and single-column designs, with multi-column temples being particularly representative of ancient Greek architecture. The roofs were typically designed in a triangular shape, with gabled and pedimented roofs being common features in Greek architecture.

In addition, ancient Greek architecture emphasized symmetrical aesthetics in its overall structure. Decorative art consisted primarily of reliefs, murals, and carvings depicting mythological stories and historical events, reflecting the culture and beliefs of that era.

Therefore, in combining the characteristic style of ancient Greek architecture with the gameplay of Myth of Empires, the various architectural components have been broken down and strengthened, enhancing the different specifications of columnar structures while balancing their support function and decorative features. A new sloped design has been adopted for the roofs, which are flatter compared to the Eastern-style buildings already in the game. This, coupled with the use of colors and decorative art reminiscent of the ancient Greek style, allows players to construct buildings that are highly characteristic of that civilization.

Currently, the Greek building recipes are undergoing further design and development, and are expected to be released around July this year as part of the Greece DLC. Players are welcome to share their ideas and feedback regarding future development content in our official communities and forums.

Welcome to the Jade Era! New servers for Novice Players

Hello players,

In response to the recent demand from many players for a new group of servers, we plan to launch the new Jade Era server group on 4/19 (UTC).

The Jade Era server group is exclusively for North American and European players; players from other regions will not be able to enter. These servers are not connected to other servers, and travel is only possible among the counties of this new group.

The Jade Era server group includes 6 prefectures, which will opened gradually as needed starting on April 19. Unlike the prefectures on other server groups, these prefectures consist of 8 counties, a change aimed at drawing in more Prefects.

In addition, players will not be able to trade Copper Coins using the Wallet item on Jade Era servers, and the number of Copper Coins that players can loot off the corpses of NPCs is limited to 50,000 per day.

For novice players, or players with small guilds, the Jade Era servers should provide a more hospitable environment for you to experience Myth of Empires. Have fun

Myth of Empires Greece DLC Dev Log 2

Dear players,

Development continues on the new civilizations that will be added to Myth of Empires later this year. Today, we’re going to give you a look at the steel armor sets that will be released in the Greek civilization DLC.

In developing these highly iconic armor sets, our team has conducted detailed research into the design of each part. For instance, the design of the steel light armor set’s helmet is derived from the late 6th-century BCE Phrygian helmet, which itself imitated the forward-leaning felt hats shepherds of the Anatolian region would wear during the time period. This helmet has a long, forward-facing peak on its crown, with a large opening for the face to ensure vision remains unobstructed, and a protrusion above the eyes to protect them from the sun. This helmet fits tightly on its wearer’s head and offers openings for the ears.

In addition, the design of the chest and leg armor draws inspiration from various books and films. This process involved integrating overall material proportions, color combinations, and texture designs, all while seeking a balance between gameplay and realism. The resulting model effectively and accurately reproduces the original concept art.

The helmet of the heavy steel armor set is inspired by the distinct Corinthian helmet. Originating in the 7th-century BCE, this helmet features unique almond-shaped eye holes, a prominent nose guard, and large cheek pieces that help to cover the soldier’s entire face.

We used the same design methods in crafting the heavy armor that we used for the light armor. The completed heavy armor model is a faithful reproduction of the concept art.

The above armor sets have been carefully crafted with both visual impact and historical authenticity in mind. Their design retains Myth of Empires’ signature style, while also embodying the essential characteristics of Greek civilization.

Myth of Empires - Greece DLC is expected to launch around July this year, with a lot more exciting content to come. The Myth of Empires team sincerely invites all players to share their interesting ideas and suggestions in official communities and forums. We look forward to sharing more with you soon. Stay tuned!
