Meet the big important update 1.5.3!

The main topic of this update is performance improvements. We received a lot of complaints about low game performance and occasional freezes in game sessions with a lot of unlocked cities and running routes. It took us a lot of time to improve pathfinding and passenger generation algorithms, but we managed it. Now the game should be able to handle a large number of routes much easier. If you experienced performance problems before, please let us know how much better the game is on the new version.


Also, important changes have been made to some scenarios. There were some that were too easy or too difficult. Changes have been made to scenarios: Caribbean Islands, Volatile Passenger Flow, Passenger Spike, Domestic Flights.

List of other changes:
- Fixed a bug where you could get the “Millionaire” achievement by loading two saves, one after another
- Now if you load a game that was saved during the city overcrowd timer countdown, the timer value is retained
- Speed of camera movement with buttons no longer depends on whether VSync is on or off
- Removed erroneous refreshing of the scenario list while adding a scenario to favorites
- Fixed a bug where passenger generation would increase if the same save was loaded several times in a row
- Fixed a bug where in the Caribbean scenario, the statistics screen showed more territories than were actually unlocked.
- Fixed a bug where a city could overflow with just one passenger in Ladder mode
- Fixed a bug with “Discover the World” mode freezing when unlocking the final territory
- Fixed a bug with the presence of passenger generation in cities that were blocked by an event

Fly Corp - American Dream page is out - you can add it to your wishlist now!

We have published the Fly Corp - American Dream DLC page. We have already told you what we would like to implement within this DLC, but now you can read the details in the description on the Steam page, as well as look at the first screenshots.

As you may have noticed, we decided to add individuality to each state by drawing several images for each of them. The drawings will only be displayed in closed areas. The new color scheme of the map is made for both the light and dark themes. However, please note that the DLC is still in development, so the visual component may undergo some changes prior to its release.

When setting up the main game mode, "Discover all states", we made sure that the gameplay of the DLC feels different than the base game in the US without division into states. This is also assisted by new opportunities for your airline company - you will be able to launch advertising campaign in the target state and serve VIPs. The DLC will include new scenarios, Scenario Editor and a separate list of user scenarios.

We have been working on this DLC since the summer, but we still have a lot of work to do. American Dream is scheduled for release in January. However, you can already add it to your wishlist so as not to miss the release!

We would also like to announce that a patch for the main game will be released very soon. It will fix the bugs found, including those reported by players. Among them is a rather unpleasant bug with increased complexity of scenarios, where there were many passengers wanting domestic flights within one territory.

Accurate and optimized route search - meet the 1.5.1 update!

Previously, for optimization, we used a pathfinding algorithm with an approximate calculation of the optimal route. This means that in complex situations, the algorithm gave close to optimal, but not the most optimal routes. We have long been trying to improve the path search algorithm to increase its accuracy and performance. This is a truly non-trivial task. And now, finally, we have succeeded.

Now passengers should choose the most optimal route from the departure city to the final destination city for transfers. At the same time, you should be able to see improved performance of the game.

Also in this version:
- Fixed a bug when in some rare cases the statistics screen showed more territories than were actually unlocked
- Fixed a bug where passengers could try travelling to a city that was not yet connected
- Fixed a problem with city names in the tutorial when switching languages from the pause menu

Beta 1.5 with optimized route finding algorithm and optimization available now!

As some of you may have noticed during long game sessions, sometimes passengers fly with transfers using less than optimal routes. This was the case - route finding in complex situations, when there are many open cities and connections between them, gave approximate, close to optimal routes. We have been trying to improve the route finding algorithm for a long time to increase its accuracy and performance. This is really a non-trivial task. And now, finally, we are ready to present an improved version for your judgment.

What changes should you notice?

As noted above - look at complex situations, when there are a lot of routes between cities. Now passengers should choose the most optimal possible route for transfers from the departure city to the final destination city.

At the same time, performance should improve. Therefore, if you have experienced problems with the game slowing down earlier, please share how much better it has become for you.



However, to ensure high performance, some compromises had to be made. We set a limit of 100 cities per territory and a minimum distance of 100 kilometers between cities for new scenarios created in the scenario editor. Please note that the new limits will not affect old scenarios created on previous versions of the game.

How to join the beta?

We are starting testing in a closed branch of Steam (Windows version only!). To switch to the testing branch on Steam, find the game in your library, right-click and select "Properties" from the context menu. There, go to the "Betas" tab and enter the code "flycorppublictest". After that, you will be able to switch to the closed test branch public_test in the list above.

Warning! Do not forget to switch back to the default branch after you finish exploring the test branch, otherwise you will not receive game updates in the future, which are published in the general branch.
