Accurate and optimized route search - meet the 1.5.1 update!

Previously, for optimization, we used a pathfinding algorithm with an approximate calculation of the optimal route. This means that in complex situations, the algorithm gave close to optimal, but not the most optimal routes. We have long been trying to improve the path search algorithm to increase its accuracy and performance. This is a truly non-trivial task. And now, finally, we have succeeded.

Now passengers should choose the most optimal route from the departure city to the final destination city for transfers. At the same time, you should be able to see improved performance of the game.

Also in this version:
- Fixed a bug when in some rare cases the statistics screen showed more territories than were actually unlocked
- Fixed a bug where passengers could try travelling to a city that was not yet connected
- Fixed a problem with city names in the tutorial when switching languages from the pause menu

Beta 1.5 with optimized route finding algorithm and optimization available now!

As some of you may have noticed during long game sessions, sometimes passengers fly with transfers using less than optimal routes. This was the case - route finding in complex situations, when there are many open cities and connections between them, gave approximate, close to optimal routes. We have been trying to improve the route finding algorithm for a long time to increase its accuracy and performance. This is really a non-trivial task. And now, finally, we are ready to present an improved version for your judgment.

What changes should you notice?

As noted above - look at complex situations, when there are a lot of routes between cities. Now passengers should choose the most optimal possible route for transfers from the departure city to the final destination city.

At the same time, performance should improve. Therefore, if you have experienced problems with the game slowing down earlier, please share how much better it has become for you.



However, to ensure high performance, some compromises had to be made. We set a limit of 100 cities per territory and a minimum distance of 100 kilometers between cities for new scenarios created in the scenario editor. Please note that the new limits will not affect old scenarios created on previous versions of the game.

How to join the beta?

We are starting testing in a closed branch of Steam (Windows version only!). To switch to the testing branch on Steam, find the game in your library, right-click and select "Properties" from the context menu. There, go to the "Betas" tab and enter the code "flycorppublictest". After that, you will be able to switch to the closed test branch public_test in the list above.

Warning! Do not forget to switch back to the default branch after you finish exploring the test branch, otherwise you will not receive game updates in the future, which are published in the general branch.

We released another patch that fixes known issues and improves overall game stability.

- Updated all scenario previews in the Menu. Previous ones were made long time ago, with a different map appearance


- Fixed the operation of the cost change coefficient for each subsequent country in scenarios
- Fixed a bug where unlocking random cities in custom scenarios stopped working
- Fixed a bug where you could endlessly sell planes in Antarctica and thus earn a huge amount of money


- Fixed the layout of some windows in 4:3 resolutions
- Fixed the display of Free Mode statistics
- Fixed a bug with incorrect calculation of the number of points awarded for the remaining time at the end of the Discover the World" mode
- Fixed problems with changing localization in the save menu
- Fixed a bug where loading a saved game could reset the random city unlock timer

We updated the Demo of our new game Check Inn!

We continue to work not only on new updates for Fly Corp, but also on a new game in the same vein. It's called Check Inn:

The update is really important, so those who have already completed the demo are invited to play again. The gameplay really feels different now.

The most important thing is that we have added service rooms. That is, any guest who stays at the hotel for more than 3 nights may want:
  • Food delivery from the kitchen to their room. Accordingly, the hotel must have at least one kitchen.
  • Washing their dirty clothes. In this case, the guest leaves a basket with dirty clothes in the hallway, and the porter must take it to the laundry. There, the clothes are loaded into the washing machine (or machines). When the washing is finished, the porter takes the clean clothes back to the room.
  • Take a steam bath in the sauna. The guest themselves goes by elevator to the floor where the sauna is located and occupies one of the rooms in it for a while. One room - one guest.

As you can see, a new important role has been added to the hotel - the porter. They can carry two items on their carts: food, dirty or clean laundry. If you see that one porter can no longer cope with the delivery, you can hire a few more.

Each of the service rooms can be upgraded. For example, in the kitchen, you can increase the speed of cooking, their quality, capacity (affects the number of ready meals that the porter can pick up at any time).


We also added the ability to zoom the camera in and out. This can be done using the mouse wheel. And you can now move the camera to the side using the arrows on the keyboard or the WASD keys.
Due to the mentioned changes, the entire demo version level has undergone a serious rebalance. Please let us know about your opinion on this update. Did you like the fact that the gameplay in the game is becoming more profound? As always, we read all messages and try to respond to them.
