Regions of Ruin: Runegate - A Natural Evolution
Hey mighty dwarves, Steve from Gameclaw here!
I’m one of two core devs working on our upcoming title, Regions of Ruin: Runegate, and I thought it might be nice to share some insight into our upcoming game with you all fresh off of the back of so many of you checking out our show floor demo at Gamescom (thank you to everyone who came along - we truly appreciate you!)
So - what makes Regions of Ruin: Runegate different to the original?
We believe Runegate is everything you loved about Regions of Ruin—but better! We’ve worked hard to refine what made the first game special while polishing every aspect for the sequel. From upgraded visuals and a higher resolution, to a brand new storyline that dives deeper into the lore of the RoR universe, Runegate definitely expands Regions in every aspect. You’ll get to see a variety of unique, visually rich locations as you journey through the world.

Truth be told, I’ve wanted to make a follow-up for years, but I knew that I didn’t want to rush it. The first game really resonated with so many of you, and ever since its release, everyone has been asking for more. I held off until I knew we could deliver something better—something more than “the same game with a different story.” Runegate is less of a “simple sequel” and more of a re-creation, and I think we’ve achieved that in spades.
Most people who loved RoR felt that they didn't have enough to do. We’re working hard to change this experience for players in Runegate, as we feel this is a vital component in elevating RoR and bringing the community together as well. We think we’ve delivered on that front, and we hope you’ll feel the same too when you get your hands on the game.

We’re so excited to give you more news about Regions of Ruin: Runegate when we can, so stay tuned for more updates and if you want to, you can join the mighty dwarves in our Discord server too for more direct chatter with us or you can follow our X, BSky & TikTok accounts too.
However you keep up with your gaming news, we can’t wait to share more with you, so thanks for taking the time to check in!
Yours dwarvingly,
Steve from Gameclaw
