Karma Next Fest Activities Update

Good evening agents.

First of all, thank you all for playing and sharing your feedback so far - from reviews to bug reports and suggestions, we are digesting it all and will use it to make the game even more polished before release.

We've got a few updates around the demo itself, and some ongoing extra activities we have running at the moment that I want to make sure you're aware of! So without further ado :
Demo Patch 1
On the launch of the demo there were some reports of folks not able to progress past the menu due to language settings on first booth being in a language they could not understand.

We identified the issue and this should now be resolved, apologies for the inconvenience!
Karma Next Fest Bundle Competition
To celebrate the demo launch, we've gathered some of our physical goodies including a shirt, a hand painted statue of your 'friend' from Shawns office, and a nifty vinyl coaster to give away! You can find entry details in the link below!

These aren't gonna be commercially available, so if you've found yourself feeling like a superfan already - now's the time to stake your claim!

Enter here!
Photo Competition
Not a fan of physical? Or simply have a set of skills of a more 'visual' nature? Well we are offering copies of the game away on launch to those who impress us with screenshots, edits, or fanart from the demo!

We've had some VERY cool entries so far, but there's plenty of time running on this - so dive in there and start paying attention to the finer details!

Entry details here

Looking to learn a little more about the world of Karma and perhaps root around in the Leviathan servers? Well someone has dug up the login details to that website that appeared last week - I'm pretty busy so can't dive in myself, but if you fancy yourself a bit of a problem solver maybe you'll haev more success.

Celebrating NextFest Indies

It has been almost 24 hours since we pushed our very first public demo live - and it has been WONDERFUL to see all of your reactions. From those of you that have streamed the game, taken pictures, joined the discord, or challenged our ARG - to those who have simply enjoyed the game and left feedback here, we appreciate every second you have spent in our world.

NextFest is an important time for indie developers the world over, and with every year seeing more and more games being added, getting your game in front of an audience that will enjoy it becomes harder. Because of this, we've been looking around at other games within the psychological horror genre that currently have demos available.

We'll share a few of these out over the course of the festival, in the hopes that you might find other indie developers that resonate with you - and keep you occupied until the doors to Leviathan open permanently.

First of all - we're spotlighting the 'BrokenLore' series of games, which focuses on hyperrealistic, claustrophobic environments where supernatural forces and cycles challenge the players.

Each game has a different focus, whether it be a prelude that investigates ancient mysteries, setting the events in motion.

-BrokenLore: LOW

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3014520/BrokenLore_LOW/

Or 'Don't Watch' which tells the story of a young hikikomori, trapped inside his small Tokyo apartment, struggling to keep in touch with the outside world as his mind unravels.

-BrokenLore: DON'T WATCH:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2351330/BrokenLore_DONT_WATCH/

Or Unfollow, which follows the story of a young woman coping with a surreal nightmare where she must solve a dark mystery and confront sinister creatures - whilst exploring the effects Social media has on self worth.

-BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2133830/BrokenLore_UNFOLLOW/

Give them a try! And if you like what you play, tell your friends, tell the developers your feedback, and get them on your wishlist!

We'll be livestreaming Karma tomorrow with some Q&A's and announcing some new competitions, and talking about the ongoing ARG - 4pm GMT over on the wiredP Twitch. We'll see you there :)

As part of the demo launch - we also have opened up our official Discord server, where you can come and ask the devs anything you want to get off your chest, as well as stay updated with announcements, share your creations, hang with others who like dark narrative games, and.. well maybe even work together to unravel the mystery of that random remote terminal.

Uncovering Corporate Secrets in KARMA: The Dark World

I’m not the biggest fan of exploratory games, but if there is one genre that does it right, it would have to be horror. I was fortunate enough to check out a 45-minute or so demo for KARMA: The Dark World, a brand-new and debut horror experience from China-based Pollard Studio. KARMA: The Dark World coins itself as a first-person psychological thriller set in 1984. Like the Orwellian-inspired year, KARMA: The Dark World’s backdrop is one of oppression at the invisible hands of a mega-company known as the Leviathan Corporation. As the player, you assume the role of an amnesic employee of the Leviathan Corporation, waking up strapped to a bed with alien-looking incisions on your arm and equally strange apparatuses all around you. From here, you quickly come across a room filled to the brim with dead bodies, all showing signs of having been experimented on in the same way as the player. Aesthetically, KARMA: The Dark World’s environments feature retro Cold War-inspired visuals that bring to mind the gaudy 70’s stylings of The Shining mixed with more contemporary influences like the FBC building found in Remedy’s Control. “The gameplay in KARMA: The Dark World mostly consists of observing the environment, interacting with key...
