Performance and resolutions update rolled out
Hi all,
We've just rolled out a new update to the game which should address a variety of performance and slowdown issues. The general performance of the game should be much better with lower CPU usage overall, and the stuttering issues should also be mostly fixed. These fixes include optimising the navmesh used by enemies for navigating levels and obstacles, making AI tick behaviour more efficient, and adjusting the behaviour of physics objects and projectiles. Previous save files should be compatible with the new version of the game. The update should download within the next day or so.
In addition, we've implemented into the game a wider array of resolution and display options, alongside better DPI/mouse sensitivity scaling at different resolutions. UI and text scaling has also been adjusted to be more visible and scale better at larger resolutions. If you wish to change resolutions in a current saved campaign, it's best to change the resolution from the in-game pause menu, as opposed to the main menu, to be sure that they take effect. A small bug regarding glitches with using checkpoints has also been fixed.
We are aware of certain other issues which still exist, such as the crashing in certain levels. Our initial investigation seems to indicate this happens more in the second half of the game, and that these are most commonly linked to completing levels and loading into the next level. A specific topic regarding this bug has been made on the discussion forums. If you're running into issues, please check this topic so you can assist us with diagnosing the cause further.
Lastly, we also want to say thank you to everybody who's supported the game so far, and also in particular supported the developer, doekuramori, considering recent events. It's been great to see the community reaction to the game and the enthusiasm that exists. Thank you very much.
