All vanilla maps are now set during winter and comes with Christmas decorations. Your enemies and allies are also properly equipped for holidays! Don't forget the thematical music too!
Credit for visuals goes to Yoshik aka FuriousOverlord, author of Vendetta, Dark Matters and Devils Manor map packs.
Rebalanced gameplay
With this event I decided to try something new to encourage you to actually beat the game once more. Here's the quick breakdown of gameplay changes:

 • Player movement speed increased dramatically.
 • Stun from falling is removed. Fall damage greatly decreased.
 • Weapon is now centered just like in Quake,Doom and Wolf3D.
 • Weapon arsenal is restricted to 13 weapons.
 • Weapon rebalance.
 • AI rebalance.
 • Adrenaline and Wine buff.
 • Ammo count increased.
 • Dynamite and grenade throw range increased.
 • Movement speed for some of the AI's increased.
 • Healing output increased for healthpacks.

And don't forget that we added 5 new achievements for you to hunt!

Castle Winterstein event will end on 10th of January 2021 but it will be reuploaded to Steam Workshop as an addon shortly after the end of the event. So you still can get your achievements afterwards.

Beware, saves from default RealRTCW are not compatible with Winterstein due to massive code changes and custom .dlls.

Event is completely optional. On launch you can choose between event and regular version.

Happy New Year and Merry Christmas! See you in 2021!

RealRTCW now in Russian!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to say that I'm amazed of such positive reaction on release of RealRTCW on Steam coming from my native russian community. Thank you for your feedback and kind words. This was my main motivation to finally find some time and translate mod into russian.

RealRTCW is now available on Steam fully translated intro russian! Interface was translated considering the latest menu overhaul, russian subtitles were written and infamous russian voiceover from Fargus were added as well!

To switch to russian language you just need to choose it in RealRTCW properties in Steam. Afterwards a small update (around 150 mb) will be downloaded.

Considering recent addition of subtitles in RealRTCW, you are now able to play with original voiceover with russian texts and subtittles.
By default you will recieve complete package, but if you want to return to original voiceover you can delete or move z_zrussiansound.pk3 file, located in Main directory in RealRTCW folder.

To avoid any problems I strongly suggest to delete any other russian translations,if you had them installed.

P.S. If you are willing to translate the mod into your native language - go ahead. When translation is finished you can contact me, and I could upload it on Steam.

RealRTCW is now available!
RealRTCW 3.1 is now available on Steam! This is a huge milestone for the mod and for me personally. Let's find out what you get in this new version!

New training level
Previous training map was alright. But it featured so many custom models, sounds and textures, that it inevitably broke the original RTCW art style. This time I decided to use the absolute minimum of custom assets and create a new training level from scrath. I'm pretty satisfied with the results. See you on the firing range!
Beta subtitles support
Thanks to Eugeny, one of the best RTCW coders out there, we were able to bring a proper subtitles support to the game. There still a few rough edges with timing of some phrases, but generally it is working fine.
Overhauled user interface
Thanks to my another collegue from the modding scene - William Faure, we rethinked visual concept of main and in-game menus. We tried to follow the new Wolfenstein games style, without going to far from original.
Venom Mod integration
Author of the Venom Mod - Hellbaron, approached me recently and offered his help with a proper integration of graphical improvements featured in his mod, including fancy shaders and detailed textures.
Steam Workshop support
We were also able to properly integrate Steam Workshop support in the Steam version of RealRTCW. Best community-created maps, fully adapted for RealRTCW are now available on Steam Workshop! Now, you can easily download and rate your favorite maps! Hopefully Steam Workshop integration will bring some new authors into the scene!

I also want to highlight the Steam Workshop release of The Dark Army: Uprising Remastered - a massive modification made by William Faure. It features a new storyline unfolded in the new campaign, with a wide choice of new game modes as well.

There were also a numerous tweaks and minor fixes that improved the overall RealRTCW experience visually and in terms of gameplay. Visit Steam forums for full changelog!

That is all I got for you!
Stay tuned for the further updates.

Status Report. Closed Beta.
Release date reveal
Countdown has started! It is less than month left until release of the major RealRTCW update which will mark its long awaited Steam release. RealRTCW will be released on Steam on October 15th, 2020.
User interface overhaul
In the recent days, we've been really busy with UI overhaul. Here's a little preview of the overhauled menu, which was inspired by the newest Wolfenstein games. All credit for this work goes to the good friend of mine and also a very talented RTCW modder - William Faure.
New training level
Old firing range level was using a lot of custom models. Most of them were copyrighted. To avoid possible copyright issues and make it look more like a vanilla game level, I created new Firing Range level from scratch using only vanilla(upscaled) textures and models.
Closed Beta
Most of the upcoming update features are in the working state. But I still need to test it properly. This is where you guys coming in. I will be giving away some BETA keys in this GIVEAWAY THREAD. Keys are limited, but there are probably going to be more giveaways in the future.

That's all for now! Stay tuned for further updates!
