Nostalgia Sound Pack is now available!
Hey everyone!
New weapon sounds could be a debatable change from vanilla game. Most players seems to be fine with the new sounds, but there are quite a few people who would prefer going back to vanilla sounds. If you are one of these people this update is for you.

Nostalgia Sound Pack is now available on the Steam Workshop!

This sound pack reverts weapon sounds back to vanilla ones.
New weapons which were not present in vanilla are using sounds from Enemy Territory and various ET mods. This pack also affects various misc sounds.
Some of the vanilla sounds were edited to exclude shell impact sound, due to RealRTCW shell impact system.

Installation instructions:

To install this pack simply subscribe to it in the Steam Workshop and launch it from the addons menu.

But if you wish to use this pack with other workshop addons do this:

1) Go to /steamapps/workshop/content/1379630/2384951103

2) Copy z_znostalgia_sounds.pk3 to RealRTCW/Main

Enjoy!

RealRTCWCoop released!
Hey everyone! Here's another Christmas present for you! RTCWCoop mod is being integrated into current Steam build of RealRTCW!

What is RTCWCoop?
RTCWCoop is a cooperative mod. It features:
 • Vanilla campaign Coop (up to 8 players)
 • Speedrun and Battle game modes
 • Reinforcements for AI
 • Nightmare difficulty level
 • Custom maps support

All credit for creating RTCWCoop mod are going to RTCWCOOPTeam - fretnn and Giskard_hun. With their kind permission my colleague William_Faure merged this mod with RealRTCW and I made some adjustments and uploaded it to Steam. Check out RTCWCOOP on MoDB!
What is RealRTCWCoop?
RealRTCWCoop is a mix between RTCWCoop and RealRTCW. It's not a proper engine integration since we still need to maintain a proper compatibility with the current servers. But some visuals, sounds and UI changes from RealRTCW were merged into RTCWCoop!

Be aware! Current RealRTCW weapon models are currently not properly ported to RTCWCoop. So for now it's just an HD textures pack for vanilla models.

You can expect further updates on this merge, for sure.
How to play?
Just launch RealRTCW as usual. You can choose RealRTCWCoop on start.
Are there any servers?
For now there's just 3 servers. You are free to create your own dedicated servers or use Hamachi (or similar programs) to play with your friends. You can find more info on server hosting on RTCWCOOP.COM
Also take a look at the GUIDE ON HOSTING RTCWCOOP SERVER
Widescreen support?
Yes! Just make sure to setup Aspect correction to Widescreen in Hud options
Further Steam integration?
Not planned,as it could break the compatibility with no steam servers. No achievements as well. No proper Steam matchmaking or lobbies.
Custom maps
Community maps adapted for Coop mode could be downloaded directly from the servers. But speed on these servers is pretty low. So I uploaded all of the maps into Steam Workshop. You can download them as RealRTCWCoop Additional Maps. Make sure to read instructions on how to install these maps properly!

See you on the battlefield!

Castle Winterstein event is now LIVE!
Christmas and New Year holidays are coming!
Let's celebrate the end of this year with thematic event called Castle Winterstein!

New Visuals and Sounds
All vanilla maps are now set during winter and comes with Christmas decorations. Your enemies and allies are also properly equipped for holidays! Don't forget the thematical music too!
Credit for visuals goes to Yoshik aka FuriousOverlord, author of Vendetta, Dark Matters and Devils Manor map packs.
Rebalanced gameplay
With this event I decided to try something new to encourage you to actually beat the game once more. Here's the quick breakdown of gameplay changes:

 • Player movement speed increased dramatically.
 • Stun from falling is removed. Fall damage greatly decreased.
 • Weapon is now centered just like in Quake,Doom and Wolf3D.
 • Weapon arsenal is restricted to 13 weapons.
 • Weapon rebalance.
 • AI rebalance.
 • Adrenaline and Wine buff.
 • Ammo count increased.
 • Dynamite and grenade throw range increased.
 • Movement speed for some of the AI's increased.
 • Healing output increased for healthpacks.

And don't forget that we added 5 new achievements for you to hunt!

Castle Winterstein event will end on 10th of January 2021 but it will be reuploaded to Steam Workshop as an addon shortly after the end of the event. So you still can get your achievements afterwards.

Beware, saves from default RealRTCW are not compatible with Winterstein due to massive code changes and custom .dlls.

Event is completely optional. On launch you can choose between event and regular version.

Happy New Year and Merry Christmas! See you in 2021!
