Update 3: Better Grip input and Pan Hammer

Hey guys,

You asked for it... the frying pan is now a melee weapon! What is more we have evaluated your answers on the community polls and changed the grip system accordingly. We hope the game will feel more comfortable this new way.

[h3]New[/h3]
- Added the Pan Hammer as a selectable weapon for multiplayer. It deals less damage than the other two melee weapons and also have a different shape for collision. You can even use it as a small shield if you want to. Furthermore it deals damage for 0.5 seconds after throwing. Let's hope it does not break the game balance.
- Added a new cowboy hat

[h3]Changes[/h3]
- Grip button is now the default for picking up and dropping stuff (weapons, bottles etc.)
- Grip button is now the default for climbing
- Added an extra option to enable the trigger for grabbing items ("use trigger as alternative grip")
- Default off for Valve Index, Oculus Touch, Oculus Quest controllers
- Default on for Vive and WMR controllers (for now)
- The arrow of the bow is still summoned by the trigger button on all platforms
- Halloween decorations removed, but don't worry winter decorations are coming soon to replace them!
- Railgun fire rate and damage slightly nerfed, recoil became a bit larger
- Optimized graphics on all levels
- Optimized player memory size
- Optimized Tunneling Vignette and Death effect
- Game install size got smaller

[h3]Fixes[/h3]
- Collider and visibility fixes on all maps
- Fixed spectator screen weapon icons for all weapons
- Fixed a bug which allowed dead players to be healed and killed twice

Update 2: Tutorial, Valve Index, Grappling Hook improvements

Hello guys,

We've implemented some quality of life improvements you requested. Please enjoy.

[h3]New[/h3]
- Infinite quick play search: Play while you wait. Press the Quick Play button and you can start the practice range or play against bots. When a slot becomes available in an online match you will be joined.
- Tutorial has been extended for these mechanics: grappling hook helpers, reload, grip settings, bow, melee, backup weapon, fun room

[h3]Changes[/h3]
- Valve Index controller config (grip and trigger usages) changed to be more standardized and more comfortable
- Point capture match length reduced from 15 mins to 12.5 mins
- Shard Cannon dual wield damage nerfed
- Laser Beamer damage nerfed

[h3]Fixes[/h3]
- Fixed bugs which caused weird movement near walls effecting double jump and grappling hook from near walls. The game will feel more fluid now.
- Fixed config with point capture self damage scale to be the same as other modes

Grapple Tournament Early Access OUT NOW!

We are happy to announce that Grapple Tournament has launched in Early Access.

It has been a long road but we finally made it. But this just the first big step for the game.

We hope you will like the 3 game modes, 5 maps, the practice mode and both the multiplayer and single player mode against bots and many more. Invite your friends, get in party and play!

Should you need any support, have a question or found a bug, make sure to check out the game's FAQ or post about it on Steam Discussions. We try to reply as quickly as possible.

[h3]WHY EARLY ACCESS?[/h3]
We think it is crucial to involve the players in the development process with gathering feedback on current maps, mechanics and most importantly weapons and in parallel improving game balance based on actual plays and player suggestions. In a VR game, fine tuning interactions to fit every player is also a must have and in a multiplayer game balance is key for long-term enjoyment.

[h3]APPROXIMATELY HOW LONG WILL THE GAME BE IN EARLY ACCESS?[/h3]
6 to 12 months.

[h3]WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATE OF THE EARLY ACCESS VERSION?[/h3]
The gameplay foundations are laid down:
- Game is playable with all the available VR hardware and controllers
- We have added as much options and VR control customizations as we could think of
- Player abilities are ready to use (jump, double jump, wall jump, climbing, weapon gripping)
- Grappling hook is fully functional to lift you up
- More than 10 weapons eagerly await to get into battle (also with dual wield or melee)
- 5 maps are playable (and 3 more are in the works)
- 3 multiplayer game modes: Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Point Capture
- Working bots with basic AI
- Practice range with drones to get yourself a 3D training field and sandbox to test the weapons
- Basic tutorial

[h3]HOW IS THE FULL VERSION PLANNED TO DIFFER FROM THE EARLY ACCESS VERSION?[/h3]
Content, content, content!
Having the gameplay foundations laid down we are able to focus on adding more content to the game in the form of new weapons, player customizations and maps, game modes of course. We would like to involve the community as much as we can in this process to deliver a polished game.

Improve the Multiplayer experience with
- Optimized networking code
- Better matchmaking
- Official tournaments and ranked play
- Create all the iconic multiplayer game modes fitting an arcade shooter like Payload, CTF, Capture Point
- Make a crazy amount of new multiplayer maps. With the gameplay mechanics settled this will be a piece of cake
- Make the bots more clever

Additional solo/co-op experiences
- Better practice range with drones, with leaderboard
- Base defense game mode
- Mini-challenges for those crazy about grapple acrobatics

In general
- More player abilities
- Open the game for modders and community items
- Eliminate all the bugs

[h3]WILL THE GAME BE PRICED DIFFERENTLY DURING AND AFTER EARLY ACCESS?[/h3]
The Early Access price reflects the appreciation for those willing to support the game during its development. Our plan is to (at least) double the amount of content and services during the Early Access period and polish the game as much as possible for the full release so price may increase moderately on full release.
