Hello everyone!

We have some exciting news to share about what’s coming next for Across the Obelisk!

It’s been a few years since the release of Across the Obelisk, and we’re incredibly grateful to see so many of you still enjoy the game and come back regularly to try new builds, heroes and adventures. We want to keep giving you more opportunities to enjoy Across the Obelisk, and today we’d like to share what lies ahead for the game this year. Check out our TODO list below, and keep reading for more details!



One of our goals moving forward is to bring more free updates to the game! We want to give you more game modes, heroes, content and adventures that you and your friends can enjoy with the base game of Across the Obelisk. Those will include:

• More free heroes! Expect the next one much sooner than our last free hero release, and we’ve heard your feedback about wanting a different class combination next. Stay tuned for more information soon!
  
• New game modes for the base Across the Obelisk experience. While we aren’t ready to share full details about new modes yet, we’re experimenting with ideas like:
  
  • A mode for shorter, more self-contained runs
    
  • Modes that feel fresh every time you play them
    
• Additional monthly updates focused on:
  • Bug fixing and technical debt. We want to make sure the game is a smooth experience to play and can keep growing.
    
  • Rebalancing older content to make it work better with free updates and new premium releases

We'd like you to have a say which base-game heroes are going to receive a dedicated patch first, bringing them closer to the power-level of more recent roster of other characters. You can make your voice heard in the comments, on Discord, or - ideally! - by voting in a poll below:


[h2]The Teams Behind the Game[/h2]

This increase in the amount of free updates is made possible by three new development teams joining the Across the Obelisk crew. Those are Moonmana, Frag and N-IX. You might recognize some of those names already, as they’re responsible for - among others - Nyrada and the Necropolis of the Damned expansion, and have much more interesting stuff still to be revealed!

At this point we also want to extend our gratitude to the team at Dreamsite Games, for bringing Across the Obelisk to life and giving it much love and focus for the first few years after its release. The original developers have been steadily transitioning to work on their next adventure, and thanks to their support, the new dev teams have been able to take up development of Across the Obelisk seamlessly, and already give you some new content. We wish Dreamsite Games continued success with all their upcoming projects!

Alongside these free updates, you can also expect additional premium content as well. Our goal is to give you more ambitious expansions like Necropolis of the Damned, as well as more DLC focused on smaller adventures and optional cosmetics.

Hotfix 1.7.4.2 patch is live for Across the Obelisk. It should contain the following fixes:

• Thread of Dreams enemies are missing Act 2 and Act 3 differentiation
  
• Enemies play cards in the wrong order
  
• Rhythm of Magic incorrect text
  
• Multiplayer Run with exceptionally large number of cards in every deck cannot be loaded
  
• Imporve multiplayer stability and reduce desyncing
  
• Nyrada's quest does not appear in multiplayer if one but not all players have Nyrada
  
• Dark spread from Scourge does not explode
  
• Adding Nyrada to party with less than 4 heroes can break the game
  
• Nyrada's deck when joining in multiplayer is partially duplicated
  
• Nyrada can be duplicated in the team
  
• Cards with Healing Spell as secondary Type not counted for Rhythm of Magic
  
• Shadowbound triggers when auras are applied
  
• When replacing a hero, Nyrada cannot craft cards they crafted already
  
• Cards played with 3 heroes leading to desyncs
  
• Reverie's Gift triggering Rhythm of Magic incorrectly
  
• Rhythm of Magic missing CreateLogCardModification
  
• Nevermoor's Cost Reduction is lost when different rune type is purged

How to Unlock Nyrada & Reverie [/h2]

1. [p]Travel through Faeborg Forest (Ice Zone) and enter The Dream Portal.[/p]
2. [p]Find Nyrada’s event, invite her to your party, and replace one current hero in the party to recruit her permanently.[/p]
3. [p]With Nyrada in your active party, defeat the boss in the same area to unlock Reverie.[/p]

The DreamVeil stirs once more.

Nyrada has finally appeared. This long-anticipated free hero update will be live in Across the Obelisk on February 19th, bringing the Exiled Dreamweaver into your party and a new reason to explore through the Thread of Dreams sub-zone.

Once the most gifted Dreamweaver of her people, Nyrada returns from her exile wielding powerful dream magic. A healer proficient in the ways of the mage, she twists dreams into curses for her enemies and strength for her allies.

• A new hero with unique Dark and Illusion interactions
• Revealing Presence, her starting passive that rewards you for destroying Illusions
• Shadowbound, a powerful starting Enchantment tied to curse charges
• A dream-touched companion, Reverie, with dual effects based on enemy health
• Additional cards including Purifying Resonance, Cursed Mirror, Dream Harmony, and Nightmare Storm
