The Laugh Floor Update Patch Notes

Hey Valley Villagers!

It’s that time again… it’s patch notes day! Even better, it’s our first update release of the new year! The team’s been hard at work bringing the magic of Disney and Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. to life in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and so we’re excited to officially welcome you to The Laugh Floor!

From a new Realm and two monstrous new villagers, to improvements within Scrooge McDuck’s Shop and new ways to customize your avatar, there’s a lot to dig into with this update. Not only that, but we have a wide range of bug fixes and optimizations to share, thanks as always to the ever-helpful feedback of this community.

Get ready! Disney Dreamlight Valley’s The Laugh Floor Update arrives on February 28th! Check out all the details below:

NEW CONTENT AND IMPROVEMENTS:

 • A new Realm door opens! Clock into The Laugh Floor and experience a day in the life of this iconic Monsters, Inc. locale!
 • Two new characters! It wouldn’t be The Laugh Floor without Mike Wazowski and Sulley! Undertake brand new Friendship Quests and earn monstrous new items as you welcome these two to the Valley.
 • Check your in-game mailboxes for a surprise! As of The Laugh Floor Update, all players – whether they’ve been around since day one or join in the future – will receive two much-anticipated items: The Partners statue for your Valley and the ornate Dreamlight Armor outfit.
 • Get ready to live monstrously with a whole range of new ways to customize your avatar, from new skin tones, to special contacts for your eyes, to new styles of ears to choose from.
 • Plan your perfect cozy evening in with the Starlight House Bundle premium bundle which offers up a wide range of customization items, including a Dream Style for Belle, a House Style fit for her sensibilities, clothing items (pajamas!), and furniture (a starlight projector!).
 • A new Star Path begins, offering up exciting new rewards that are equal parts sweet and monstrous – it’s the Lovely Monsters Star Path!
 • We’ve expanded Scrooge McDuck’s Shop! We know many of you check nearly every day in hopes of seeing that elusive furniture piece that’ll tie your Collection together, so with this change, the shop will offer more options to choose from every day!
 • That’s not all that’s changed at Scrooge’s Shop… Back by popular demand, doors are now available for purchase once more!
 • We’ve heard your requests and are happy to share that the ability to change the name of your avatar can now be found in the game Settings.
 • More optional items are coming to the Premium Shop for a limited time, as well as some returning favorites from past Star Paths!
 • Express (and reward) yourself with a wide range of new, weekly DreamSnaps challenges.

Disney Dreamlight Valley review

During the pandemic everyone seemed to find comfort in the gentle virtual maintenance of their Animal Crossing Islands. Pootling about, talking to villagers, and designing things just so. Nothing else has come close to replicating that weird state of zen that comes with pulling weeds and paying debts. Until now...

Disney Dreamlight multiplayer: how to unlock valley visits

Now that it has fully launched, Disney Dreamlight Valley multiplayer is finally available for all players. Though we'd known co-op was in Dreamlight Valley's future, we'd been waiting to find out exactly how it works. At the moment, multiplayer activities are pretty limited in Disney Dreamlight Valley, unfortunately. I'm definitely hoping that Gameloft will expand multiplayer features in the future because at present there isn't actually much playing to be done together...

How to get Jack Skellington in Dreamlight Valley and pumpkin tree fix

How do you get Jack Skellington in Dreamlight Valley? As part of the The Pumpkin King Returns update, you find yourself on a little treasure hunt of sorts to find Jack Skellington himself and help him cross over to the valley's realm. But where do you find his matryoshka dolls in the Something Comes A Knocking quest, and what exactly do you do with them when you've got them?

The first Dreamlight Valley Rift in Time DLC, Eternity Isle, released on December 5, 2023, alongside the latest Dreamlight Valley Update: The Pumpkin King Returns. Even without the paid expansion, in classic Dreamlight Valley style, there's loads of new content to enjoy for free. That said, getting the Pumpkin King to arrive in your valley having collected his matryoshka dolls might not be as simple as Gameloft intended. Here's everything you need to know about how to get Jack Skellington in Dreamlight Valley.

Delights Abound in The Pumpkin King Returns Update!
Hey Valley Villagers!
We’re excited to celebrate Disney Dreamlight Valley leaving Early Access with a jam-packed new update, full of content and features that have been heavily requested by you, our amazing community!

This blog will break down the content available today for all owners of Disney Dreamlight Valley. If you’re looking for more information about the expansion pass – Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time – also launching today, check out our recent blog here!
Welcome Jack Skellington!
You’ve seen Realm Doors. You’ve seen secret doors. But have you ever seen a… tree door?

A mysterious tree has appeared in the Valley with a strange knocking sound emanating from inside. We won’t spoil the fun of what happens next, but all roads lead to The Master of Fright, Jack Skellington, arriving in Disney Dreamlight Valley!

Highly requested by our community and first revealed in the recent Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase, this familiar face from Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas arrives just in time to spread some holiday magic of his own in your Valley. Introduce him to your other Villagers (we’re pretty sure he’d love Fairy Godmother’s house) and get ready for some holiday hijinks!
Royal Winter Star Path
We just snow you’re going to love this one.

Celebrate the wonder of winter with our latest Star Path! You’ll find plenty of reasons to bundle up and head outside as you complete seasonal duties, from building your own snowman family, to catching an Arendellian delicacy. Each of these will earn you Royal Winter Tokens.

Redeem these tokens to claim a delightful bounty of rewards that will have you shivering with glee! From a Snowman Racoon animal companion to fawn-tastic cosmetics, there’s bound to be something to get anyone into a festive mood!

You can also expect new additions to the in-game Premium Shop to further complement your frosty new décor!
The Valley is More Fun with Friends
Say hello to the newest way to play Disney Dreamlight Valley!

After helping you unlock the DreamSnaps feature, it seems like Vanellope has spent her free time adventuring across the Valley and has made an exciting discovery! Join her on a quest once again to find yourself the proud owner of a Valley Visit Station! You’ll be able to interact with it to enable visits to your Valley and visit other players’ Valleys*†!

To open your Valley for visits, interact with the Station to open a connection. You will receive a unique code that you can share with your friends. From there, they simply need to input this code on the Start Menu to complete the connection. Once done, you can close the connection from the same terminal. Up to 3 friends can visit your Valley at a time.

If you would like to visit a friend’s Valley, simply input their uniquely generated code from the Start Menu.

While participating in multiplayer, all players can pick up items dropped in the Valley‡, enter player homes and Scrooge McDuck’s Store, and change their outfits and accessories. Speaking of Scrooge’s Store, make sure to let your friends know what’s in stock in your Valley to help them complete their collections!

An additional incentive to use the multiplayer feature is a new resource called Pixel Shards! These crystalized clumps of “online energy” can only be found during a visit to your friend’s Valley and are used to craft two special new items:
 • Pixelized Cooking Flame: Power up your cooking with this buff or opt for the even more efficient Superior buff! When used, the next five (or twelve, if you opt for the Superior version) meals you cook will have their output doubled.
 • Glitchy Pixel Duplicate Pack: Simplify the crafting process with these special items! Depending on the size of pack you create, you will receive five or twelve “Glitchy Pixel Duplicates,” which can be used in place of required ingredients – sort of like a wild card – in many crafting recipes.
Get Up to Date on the Latest Patch Notes
In particular, the team’s been busy behind the scenes fixing bugs and issues thanks to your detailed reports.
