Patch 2025.9.9.0.25 is now available!

[p]Hey everyone,[/p][p]Patch 2025.9.9.0.25 is now available on the Evolution Public Branch.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]There is now a new land carcass model and texture, and it also has a bones-only version that appears when the carcass's remaining flesh is less than or equal to 25% of its maximum flesh.[/p]
  • [p]There are new sounds for eating bone.[/p]
  • [p]A nest for the deinocherius has been added to the Savage Lands map.[/p]
  • [p]A nest for the deinosuchus has been added to the Savage Lands and the Great Sands maps.[/p]
  • [p]The deinosuchus eating animation no longer snaps out of place at the end of the animation.[/p]
  • [p]Current weight for dinosaurs is now calculated using allometric scaling instead of linear scaling for more realistic weight.[/p]
  • [p]Carrying live dinosaurs has been improved. You can now only carry a dinosaur if its current weight is less than or equal to a quarter of your current weight. Your chance to grab the target is based on your weight versus their weight, lesser amounts of weight for the target being a higher grab chance. Your carried dinosaur is automatically dropped when you die or exit the game. You can attack the carried dinosaur with your regular attacks. Every time you attack the carried dinosaur you have a chance to drop it, the chance to drop it is higher the heavier it is. The anchor point and rotation for the carried dinosaur still isn't perfect and may need some adjustments in the future.[/p]
  • [p]The grabbing sequence (eating animation) now stops when it would be playing the eating sound if it were the eating sequence. This was done so you don't have to sit through the whole eating animation to grab or drop food or dinosaurs.[/p]
  • [p]The grabbing sequence was sped up to 2x the normal speed.[/p]
  • [p]Picking up dead dinosaur bodies is still not finished.[/p]
  • [p]All aerial dinosaurs can now call and attack while flying.[/p]
  • [p]Approximately half of the carcasses that spawn will spawn as bones for the future "bones" diet. Currently any carnivore can eat them.[/p]
  • [p]The carcasses that spawn as flesh will have between 100% and 50% flesh, up from 100% to 25%.[/p]
  • [p]The carcasses that spawn as bone will have between 25% and 20% bone.[/p]
  • [p]Losing health from dehydration is now working properly.[/p]
  • [p]Losing thirst from being in harsh climates is now working properly.[/p]

  • [p]Aerial dinosaurs now have their own eating sounds, one sound per size category.[/p]
  • [p]The archelon now uses the new beak-attack sounds.[/p]
  • [p]New eating gastrolith sounds play when eating gastroliths.[/p]
  • [p]Now the appropriate eating flesh sound plays when eating anemone, starfish, and clams for non-beaked dinosaurs and beaked dinosaurs. [/p]
  • [p]Fixed some cases of dinosaurs' tongues stretching out really far after they ate.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a problem with the titanoboa getting stuck near nests.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a problem with the legs animator stretching the feet of some dinosaurs.[/p]

  • [p]The fish carcass switches to a bones-only model when flesh is less than 25% remaining.[/p]

  • [p]The tyrannosaurus rex sub adult has 5 new call sounds. Press the 1 key for an idle call. Press the 2 key for a friendly call. Press the 3 key for a call for help. Press the 4 key for an aggressive call. Press the 5 key for a distant call.[/p]
  • [p]There are now new sounds for eating meat.[/p]
  • [p]Removed the mouth/feet audiosource max distance adjustments for wild dinosaurs, now it's set to the max dinosaur view range, so in theory you could hear something as far as you can see it if the audiosource is loud enough.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed building nests.[/p]
  • [p]Legs animator now fades in and out depending on the movement that is happening for a dinosaur. This makes it look smoother with no snapping in and out of animation states.[/p]
  • [p]Wild dinosaurs now have the same base swim speed as the player.[/p]
  • [p]Wild dinosaurs should no longer float above the water when trying to enter the water.[/p]
  • [p]Wild dinosaurs are no longer getting stuck while trying to swim from the shoreline into the water.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an archelon animator problem, now it doesn't have to finish its idle swim animation before it can play its movement animations.[/p]
  • [p]Non-fish meat is no longer able to be strictly-piscivore dinosaur's preferred foods.[/p]
  • [p]Megalodon now has fish flesh.[/p]
  • [p]Your dinosaurs can now get thirsty while swimming.[/p]
  • [p]Extremely hot and dry biomes now cause dinosaurs to lose hydration at 3x the normal rate. These are the desert, badlands, and salt flats biomes.[/p]
  • [p]Moderately hot and dry biomes now cause a dinosaur to lose hydration at 2x the normal rate. These are the rocky and mountainous biomes.[/p]
  • [p]Some dinosaurs are now passively anhydrobiotic and resist the hydration loss of extremely and moderately hot and dry biomes by up to 50%.[/p]
  • [p]A new body trait, Anhydrobiosis is now available for all non-aquatic dinosaurs and this allows you to resist the hydration loss caused by extremely and moderately hot and dry biomes by 10%, up to 50% with a superior diet.[/p]
  • [p]The velociraptor, skorpiovenator, oviraptor, and protoceratops have 50% passive anhydrobiosis.[/p]
  • [p]The tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, tarbosaurus, stegosaurus, dryosaurus, ceratosaurus, carnotaurus, and brachiosaurus have 25% passive anhydrobiosis.[/p]
  • [p]The Satiated trait now makes your hunger drain 10% slower with a poor diet and up to 50% slower with a superior diet, instead of a base 15%.[/p]
  • [p]The Hydrated trait now makes your thirst drain 10% slower with a poor diet and up to 50% slower with a superior diet, instead of a base 15%.[/p]
  • [p]Titanoboa can now swallow prey half its previous swallow size.[/p]
  • [p]Adult brachiosaurus height has changed from 43 feet to 49 feet.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a glitch where if your dinosaur was trying to eat, it could potentially check a previously eaten resource's position when trying to determine if it was closer to the new resource or the previous resource.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a glitch where if your dinosaur's diet consisted of multiple diets, the system might not remove the eaten food from the correct resource.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a glitch where if your dinosaur's diet consisted of multiple diets, the system would clear the resource from your target when checking the first diet, and it would never reach second or further diet checks.[/p]

  • [p]Fixed a glitch that could happen if hovering over a talent and logging out of a dinosaur at the same time.[/p]

  • [p]Your dinosaur no longer has to be hungry in order to grow from eating.[/p]
  • [p]Having gastroliths in your dinosaur's stomach increases the amount of growth gained by eating by up to 2x if you're hungry.[/p]
  • [p]The passive growth bonus maximum that can be gained by having a higher overall health ranking has been reduced to 2x, down from 4.25x.[/p]
  • [p]Gastroliths in your dinosaur's stomach now make you half as hungry. This amount is still lessened for older dinosaurs.[/p]

  • [p]Fixed a preferred foods randomization glitch for piscivores.[/p]
  • [p]A dinosaur's maximum amount of gastroliths is now halved if the dinosaur has a "lean" body type. Bulky body types still have the same maximum gastroliths. So a lean dinosaur can require between 5 and 120 gastroliths depending on their growth stage and size category.[/p]
  • [p]A dinosaur gets fuller faster while eating with higher amounts of gastroliths in their stomach. Up to 5x fuller per bite.[/p]
  • [p]A dinosaur gets hungrier faster with higher amounts of gastroliths in their stomach. Up to 6x faster. Older dinosaurs don't get as hungry from this penalty.[/p]
  • [p]A dinosaur only grows from eating if they are hungry.[/p]
  • [p]The Guide page on Growth has been updated.[/p]
  • [p]A new Guide page on the Preferred Foods system has been added.[/p]
  • [p]Almost all dinosaur species can now play their movement and call animations at the same time.[/p]
  • [p]Almost all aquatic species can now play their movement and attack animations at the same time.[/p]
  • [p]The styracosaurus, oviraptor, dimorphodon, and troodon can now play their movement and attack animations at the same time.[/p]
