Patch 1.3: Skyward Summit is our biggest patch yet! We're introducing hours of early and end game content, interactive systems, storylines, quality of life improvements, bug fixes and addressing a big batch of Player Top Issues.

Patch 1.3 comes with brand new systems & content for all levels:
  • The introduction of Zenith's third class: the Cyber Ninja!
  • A brand new area to explore - Skyland - filled with new quests, enemy types, events and much more.
  • New physics system to help make the world of Zenith more immersive.
  • Player vs. Player
  • Player Housing

Warnings/Cautions

Starting with patch 1.3, all new Cyber Ninja’s will go straight to the brand new area coming with this patch - Skyland - after the Academy. On the other hand, for all Blade Master’s and Essence Mage’s created after 1.3, 50% of accounts will be funneled into the old quest progression and the other 50% will go to Skyland. If you got funneled into the old questline and want to play in Skyland instead, see directions below in the "New Content" section.

New Features/Systems

Patch 1.3: Skyward Summit introduces a ton of brand new features and systems into the world of Zenith.
  • 🤖 Cyber Ninja - New playable class – a fusion of magic and technology with the sole purpose of taking down enemies with stealth and precision. Simply create a new character and select the Cyber Ninja class to get started! Currently, only the DPS spec is available.
  • ⛏️ New Life Skills (available in Skyland) - Mine ore and chop wood around Skyland, as well as craft yourself armor and weapons! You will acquire the multi-tool soon after starting the new Skyland questline, giving you access to the gathering tools and grappling hook. Note that the grappling hook currently works in Skyland only.
  • ⚔️ PVP - Challenge other Zenitheans to duke it out in a variety of game types! This can be found in the menu that comes up when you interact with another player (same menu to add friend, etc).
  • 🏡 Player Housing - Purchase and decorate your own home in Zenith. Invite friends over, throw a party, paint the walls! Houses can be purchased inside of the city; follow the signs near the Nexus District crystal - you can't miss ‘em!
  • 👊 Combat Updates - Improvements on moment to moment gameplay with dodge, crouch, blocking, etc. Several settings related to the updated combat system can be found in your comfort settings. In Skyland, there are also several new combat mechanics (such as headshots) and new enemy AI.
  • ⚛️ New Immersive Physics System - We ripped out our old physics and replaced it entirely with a new one! Benefits include swapping items without dropping, hand poses, not being able to push your hands through stuff, finger tracking improvements, better zip lines, two handed interactions (read: use two hands on the harvesting tool!), and more.


New Content

Patch 1.3 Skyward Summit has a brand new area to explore, with tons of new challenges to tackles and adventures to get into!
  • 🌎 Skyland - Beautiful floating island with mysterious advanced ancient technology and mobs. If your character didn’t get sent to Skyland after the tutorial, go through the portal on the bridge outside of the city, and it will send you to Skyland and start you on the new questline.
  • 🤖 The Cyber Ninja will have all new sets of armor and weapons to acquire.


Feature/System Updates
  • Gliding sound no longer plays directly in your ears when another player is gliding nearby [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Disabled grass on Quest 2 by default
  • You can now create private parties with the option of voice moderation being turned off. When joining an unmoderated private party, you'll be warned prior to joining. [Multiple Sources]
  • Added a new, full-color world map which includes academy, the celestial throne, and skyland
    Improved the feel of throwing items.
  • Changed the default setting for Comfort Loading Screen to be disabled, which means there will be noticeable stutters instead of the black Freeing Memory loading screen. Players can easily restore the old setting if this being disabled causes VR discomfort / nausea.
  • Added in the Booster referral cosmetic gear and Brimm's hat cosmetic.
  • Added in new daily Agent Rank quests for PvP.
  • Cursed hounds have improved enemy detection.
  • Raised the floor level in the pond under the bridge in Academy
  • Added a quicker login flow that skips the user to their last Shard and/or Character selection.
  • Added regular and dazzling Twilight Jellypuff catchable pets in Skyland.


Resolved Issues
  • Enhancement Station in Emerald Desert fixed.
  • Fixed Pet Stamina Regeneration perk.
  • Fixed critical power and critical chance godstone and gear modifiers. [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Fixed quest list not refreshing when re-opening it after completing a quest.
  • Fixed the issue where Divine Favor gives the player and not the ally hit an AP boost. [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Aggro-based HP scaling is now applied properly to enemies when initially engaging them, before applying the first hit.
  • Implemented checks so that if an agent rank mission is unavailable to the player (cannot be tracked or completed), it will be repaired.
  • Fixed blazing barrier not doing damage due to an incorrect hitbox. [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Prevented eating cooked ingredients
  • The first hit on an enemy now correctly takes into account HP scaling based on the number of players nearby.
  • Fixed godstones not being enabled on login. [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Primal modifier fixed and is now working properly, for example with Sunder and Vorpal Strike.
  • Fixed issues where certain parts of players wont load in properly.
  • Reduced cursor jitter on some parts of the world map. [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Fixed some memory leak issues.
  • Fixed an issue with Queen-side castling in chess. [Multiple Community Sources]
  • Fixed issues with Scythe godstone not behaving as described [Multiple Sources]

Leaders can leave a guild if another Leader exists. Leaders can now pass the Leader role to another member. Removed the ability for Leaders to promote an additional Leader.   • Fixed some visual issues in Outlaw Grove.
  • Fixed an issue to ensure Spirit Burn chains attach to the caster, not to all players.
  • Fixed an issue to ensure other players' Spirit Burn chains show up.


Known Issues
  • Virtual desktop is currently not working with the Oculus version of Zenith.
  • Some players on Oculus desktop may not see load screens.
  • Not all enemies outside of Skyland will have Kama Cadence patterns.
  • Tutorial videos in Outlaw Grove are currently disabled
  • [PSVR2 only] Yellow textures in Outlaw Grove. The team is currently working on a fix for this.
  • Fallen Friend pets may ignore collision and move away from their name tag.
  • Fallen Friend catchable creatures are different colors from the summonable version. We are currently exploring alternative solutions to distinguishing the catchable creature version from enemies.

We're excited to announce our latest patch - Minor 1.2.2! This patch is focused mainly around bug fixes and in-game moderation tool improvements, but we're also introducing new pets and a brand new limited time event foreshadowing the content of our next major update. The foreshadowing event and its rewards will only be available until the launch of 1.3, so get out there, Agent!
Play on the Minor 1.2.2 PTR for 4 hours to earn the character title "Support Star". Note: when playing on PTR character titles are not synced with Live, so you may not see all your titles on PTR.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause a player's friends list to appear blank [Player Top Issues]
  • Fixed weekly quest reset timer to avoid issues where it was incorrect for certain timezones.
  • Fixed an issue with player loading if you logged out or crashed while in a portal. [Player Top Issues]
  • Fixed Obsidian Shroud Godstone modifier, as well as any Culling Beam modifiers that triggered on hitting enemies. Multiple sources.
  • Fixed Fastball weapon modifier. Multiple sources
  • Fixed Mortal Skewer Blademaster Legendary Weapon perk. Multiple sources
  • Fixed how weapon modifiers are triggered when attacking. Weapons will now properly use the modifiers that are equipped and not other weapons you have.
  • Fixed an issue with the Agent Rank UI so it now returns to the previously selected screen when re-opening it.
  • Fixed infusion costs for Twilight Athenaeum sets.
  • Fixed an issue where Winter Coins & Winter Nog could not be equipped to a quickslot [Player Top Issues]
  • Fixed an issue with the BladeMaster Foeseeker VFX that would cause an overly-intense flare.
  • Fixed an issue with the Beetle pet's skills sometimes showing incorrect icons.
  • Fixed an issue with certain actions in game giving you duplicate popups
  • Fixed an issue with comfort settings causing other settings to reset.
  • Added a mechanism to free memory for PS5 and PS4.
  • Added an instant teleport back to the Academy starting point if user falls off.
  • Updated the Essence Mage Tank Blocking tutorial to clarify that they can do it in Academy training, and it unlocks permanently at level 7. [Player Top Issues]

[h2]Known Issues[/h2]
Edit 2/16: Issues below were fixed during PTR
    Furnaces do not function in Neowear events in Skysong
    Rasken is invisible at first and then spawns in abruptly during the Academy fight with Cato.
    Last row of pets in the life skill menu can only be partially scrolled.
    Description for the Fallen Friend pet in the summoning tab overlaps with the rarity text.
    Ingredients in the cauldron for the Celebration Cake overlap the UI window.
    Effects from Rasken's departure from the Academy invasion cutscene linger after he leaves.
    Subtitles for Cato and Lyra during the invasion sequence are placed incorrectly.
    Bushes in the "Neowear - Sapping the Forest" event become plain fog from a distance.
    Summoned "Dingbo" pet is missing animations and has broken eyes
    Description for Celebration Cake overlaps stats text when highlighted in Inventory.
    Players are currently unable to track the "Catch Fallen Friends" activity in the "Skywards Mysteries" season

[h2]Hotfix 2[/h2]
Hotfix 2 focuses on reducing crashes and improving stability. We are continuing to monitor stability and looking into bug reports
  • Optimized performance when there are lots of entities nearby
  • Optimized performance when there are lots of other players nearby
  • Optimized memory usage during shard connection process
  • Fixed an issue which would cause memory usage to slowly increase (and so decrease stability) over time as more and more status effects were used
  • Changed the order in which things load to prevent freezing and reduce memory spikes during shard connection
  • Reduced the memory usage of certain textures (including Skyboxes) on Quest devices
  • Made abandoned items despawn when their owner logs out
  • Fixed entities with lots of status effects on them causing framerate drops
  • Fixed enhancement stations to show the correct 3D model for what is being enhanced
  • Added a safety check to prevent the rare case where a player's inventory got wiped when losing internet

    • You can also swap names between two characters. If you'd like to rename a character, create a new character (with the desired name) then swap the two names. We're planning to improve this over time
  • Allow joining instance Raids with parties smaller than 8 people [Player Top Issue]
  • Updated and tuned the Defiled Gardens to be completable with 4 players
  • Updated and tuned Pillar of the Architect to be completable with 4 players

  • We added some tunable caps for stackable AP buffs -- we understand that this is a core part of the strategy so we tried to keep it pretty high, to reward high skillcap players, but not so high that everything in the game becomes trivial. We are testing this, and would love to get feedback from our player base about what feels like the right amount to stack.
  • Made legendary weapon modifiers for tank weapons more relevant to role (will only roll on newly created legendary weapons)
  • Legendary weapons can be synthesized to a new tier, while retaining the modifiers, enhancement levels, and infusion levels it had before
  • Heavily reworked and refreshed sword throwing physics to be closer to real world physics, allowing things like putting spin on your throw, etc. [Player Top Issue]
  • You can now start gliding while standing in an updraft without needing to jump
  • Sensitive Gliding is now the default gliding mode when a character is created
  • Quest beacons/locations no longer show or trigger for untracked quests
  • Updated wording on the tooltip for the EM Tank ultimate slot to clarify that it is activated by doing the reverse motion to EM DPS ultimate
  • Swapping godstones now resets the cooldown
  • Stores now have scrolling windows so you can more easily sell your goods and gear
  • Aether Spark was listed as "40% AP" damage, however a bug caused it to do 0% damage. In this patch we have fixed the bug and adjusted it to do 3% AP damage, so while the UI says the damage has been reduced (40% to 3%), the actual damage value has increased (0% to 3%).
  • Added ability to open chests by touching them with your hand
  • Added icon to HUD to show other players which role you are (DPS, Tank, Support)

Known Issues
  • Some items given via quest may not stack with the same item acquired through other means due to an incorrectly assigned level of -1 "L-1"
  • Tier 2 (Empowered Nova Trigger & Empowered Falling Star) Artifact weapons currently look the same as their Tier 1 counterparts.
  • Tier 2 Empowered Nova Trigger has same Primary Stat as Tier 1. This will be fixed in the next update.
  • Icons are not consistent in size and behavior when moving items around in your inventory
  • A couple of pieces of VO/dialogue may be cut short by a word or two
  • If you are not in a guild, the guild menu may show a placeholder member list in addition to the create guild button.
  • The Sprinter modifier will be rerollable on new gear, but older gear (from before the patch) it is temporarily unable to be rerolled. This will be fixed in the next update.
  • After unlocking the Fast Travel point for Fractured Plains, you may need to relog in order for the Fast Travel point to show up on your World Map.
  • The Gemcrusher Pet is not currently pettable. This will be fixed in the next update.
  • Sometimes the Treasure Hunter and Exploration pet perks don't work
  • Voice Overs for NPCs may occasionally stop playing
  • Referral rewards not appearing in-game for some users. Progress data is saved, we're actively working on a fix. (Edit 11/18) This has been fixed
