Twitch Integration Live! + Accessories For Characters!
Hey everyone!
We're proud to introduce our latest update featuring a beta of our Twitch Integration milestone, a significantly expanded character customization feature and an event to get your Trickster on the world stage!

This update brings Twitch Integration support to Trivia Tricks, allowing Twitch Chat to participate as a contestant on the show! Team up with your viewers to take down Trivia Bosses together or take your viewers on in a battle of Trivia brainpower! (Chat can't be that smart... right?)
Beyond just answering questions, viewers who picked the right answer will have their names fly across the screen. The Twitch character can react with emotes' through a few commands too such as: !laugh, !cry, !angry, !shock, and !dance. Streamers have an option to limit chat participation to subscribers only, and Bits will be thrown onstage proportional to the tier that has been cheered. We're extremely proud of our Twitch Integration feature level, but we have chosen to label it as a beta to make clear we're still looking to extend it with your input! We'll be watching streams, engaging with your feedback on our Discord and continuing to expand Twitch Integration over the coming weeks! Let us know what you think!

One of Trivia Tricks' most celebrated features is its character customization, however we've heard many glasses-wearing players didn't appreciate having to go bald if they want to bring specs on stage!
We're happy to unveil that today's update adds two 'accessory' slots in the character creator! This will unbuckle glasses, ties, scarfs, floating moons (wait what?) and a selection of other cosmetics from the original four slots. We've also taken this time to update the physics and visuals on some of our existing fan-favorite items and add a few new surprises while we're at it. Please check out the new options available in the character creator and send us your favorites!

The Trivia Tricks Discord continues to pop off! To start with, the show is looking for more contestants! With the expanded character creator now seems the perfect time to expand our AI roster and we're turning to the community for inspiration! In our Discord you'll find a new channel dedicated to sharing pictures of your favorite created characters. The best of the best will be added to Trivia Tricks pool of potential AI! This event will come to an end at a future date so get them in ASAP!
Finally, we love seeing your diverse question suggestions and integrating them into each update, but we understandably had feedback from players wishing they could suggest questions without posting them in a public channel. This is now no longer the case! You will find Question Bot in our Discord, who will be happy to collect your question submissions in DMs and automatically send them to us for consideration in future updates. Give it a shot!
Wow! That was a lot. If you're looking for complete patch notes and bug fixes in bullet point format, well, read on! Here's the full patch notes for Trivia Tricks version 0.9.0.2!
Twitch Beta!
- The Twitch Beta is here! Add your Twitch audience as a playable character who you can play against in Standard Trivia, or work together in Vs Boss Mode!
- The Twitch button in the bottom right of the Lobby will walk you through the process. You will need to go to the Trivia Tricks website, then log into Twitch and receive a token. Once this token has been pasted in, enter your Twitch account name, give your chat a nickname and you're good to go!
- Once the Twitch character has been added, your chat will be able to answer questions by sending A/B/C/D or 1/2/3/4 in Twitch Chat.
- Whenever Twitch Chat is in play your answer options will have A/B/C/D or 1/2/3/4 next to them so that your Twitch Chat will know how to answer.
- The Twitch character will choose whichever answer has the highest number of votes from the Twitch Chat when there is 1 second remaining on the answer timer. If no one answers, they will choose a random answer.
- The Twitch character will receive points in proportion to the audience that got the answer correct, for example, if 80% of the chat was correct then the Twitch character will receive 80% of the points for choosing the correct answer.
- If the Twitch character answers correctly, the names of 20 random Twitch users who got the answer correct will be shown on-screen!
- If you receive any Bits, the Twitch character will throw Bits on stage in proportion to donation amount!
- The Twitch Chat can use commands to make the Twitch character play various animations, such as dancing and crying!
- Please note that the Twitch character counts as a player - so if you want to play with the Twitch character you will need to set aside a slot for them to join!
New Accessory Slots For Additional Character Customization!
- The number of cosmetics that your character can wear has been increased from 4 to 6!
- It is now possible to wear a variety of cosmetic combinations that weren't possible previously, like wearing both hats and glasses, or scarfs and shirts!
- These cosmetics have been moved to the 'Accessory' category instead of the 'Hats' or 'Shirts' category.
- The tabs at the top of the Character Creator have updated designs to support the extra options!
- However there are a few cases where some cosmetics can't be worn together (such as the 'Count's Cape' and the 'Guitar').
- Your saved characters will automatically update to move any relevant cosmetics to the correct slots.
- We've added some new cosmetics! 'Rainbow Shirt', 'Propeller Hat' and 'Disguise Glasses'. Good news, 'Rainbow Shirt' is free to all!
- The 'Up Arrow' and 'Down Arrow' shirts have been updated to 'Gains' and 'Losses' and have been given a more animated look! If you were lucky (or unlucky) enough to have had these shirts unlocked before then you will find them automatically unlocked!
- The 'Scarf', 'Bowtie' and 'Tie' have been re-modeled to suit being worn with shirts.
- The physics on the 'Count's Cape' item has been fixed! It now flows much more naturally!
- Let us know what characters you've now been able to make on our Discord and you may just be facing them as AI in future updates!
Usability Improvements
- The area around the 'Ready Up!' button in the lobby screen has been redesigned, most notably the 'Categories' button has been moved to that corner.
- If the categories are changed (for example, when switching between bosses) a small "Updated!" alert will appear above the categories button - this should help make it clear when categories have been adjusted without needing to open the window!
- Chat messages have been updated so the player's name appears bolder than their message.
Question Database Changes
- New questions have been added - including suggestions from our Discord community!
- The quality of questions in various categories have been improved, such as the Music and Animals category.
- Fixed various typos.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where a player who joined midgame during the Chance Round would be able to hear the Chance Round balls spawning while waiting to join.
- The up/down arrows indicating player's rankings have been hidden during the screen asking for the player's Chance Round participation, they were not intended to be shown here and as such were not reflecting actual ranking adjustments!
