Regular Update #25 - Bugs Squashed and Engine Updated!

Hello Tricksters!

This release may seem small in content but it’s huge in potential! We’ve upgraded the engine that Trivia Tricks is built on, laying the groundwork for making several upcoming features possible!

As this update is an interim step to other exciting things we’re not making a big show about it in your news feeds. But, as you were nice enough to still check out these patch notes anyway, we’ll let you in on a little secret!... Development on our yearly Halloween event is underway! 🎃 Get involved by suggesting Halloween-related trivia questions to build up the Halloween category in our Discord!

Finally, this build contains a handful of general improvements and bug fixes from the last couple of weeks! Enjoy the detailed patch notes for 0.9.6.5 below!

  • When Change Answers is enabled, each players buzzer sound will be capped at playing twice per question to prevent spamming.
  • Podiums now display streaks and speed bonuses after the camera has zoomed out from the TV to ensure the effects are visible.
  • The Twitch Answer Bar Charts during answer reveals are now in order from left-to-right in the order that they were added to the game.
  • The Twitch Answer Bar Charts now animate off screen.
  • Fixed some typos and cleaned up the wording on a variety of questions. Thanks to all of you who took the time to report these to us directly!
  • Smoothed the transition between cameras during gameplay
  • Upgraded our version of Unreal Engine and our used plugins.

  • Fixed a bug where, when players joined a game in progress without taking over an AI slot, they would have zero points instead of being given the expected catchup amount.
  • Fixed a bug where, when players joined a game in progress without taking over an AI slot, the streak flame effect could be placed on the wrong podium.
  • Fixed a rare bug where, when players joined a game in progress without taking over an AI slot, the new players would not be placed on their podium.
  • Questions that are marked to enforce their answering order will now do so the Twitch order instead of starting from the bottom answer and rotating clockwise
  • Improved connection reliability to Twitch
  • Set a character limit to the Twitch Authorisation Code text box
  • Fixed rare cases where the wrong camera could be used
