Your Guide to Holiday Ops Low and Mid-Tier Vehicles in Large Boxes

Commanders!

In addition to the five Tier VIII–X vehicles available in the Holiday Ops 2024 Large Boxes, there are just as many Tier II–V rewards. For tankers new to the game, or those who enjoy mid- to low-tier battles, these machines are welcome additions to any Garage. We examine the following brand-new vehicles:
 • ARMT
 • M24 Chaffee No. 594
 • IT-3
 • A7E3
 • Vickers 6 ton

Read on to learn about their unique features in detail and get crew and equipment recommendations.
ARMT
With it's box-like turret and cannon that fits into a groove, the ARMT 's looks make it stand out. But it also has some surprising stats that surpass vehicles of the same Tier and class. It excels in a support or flanking role, using its superb gun depression and elevation to dislodge stubborn enemies from well-protected positions.
Firepower:
The ARMT carries a 76 mm, three-round autoloader that can deliver 862 HP DPM, but burst fire can chip away 345 HP in five seconds by draining the clip into an enemy at mid to close range. Where the ARMT really shines, though, is hull-down combat—especially in hills—where its sweet –15° of gun depression comes into play. Have an enemy on an elevated position taking potshots at you? No problem: Put the ARMT's 60° of gun elevation to good use and blow them off the perch. (To put things in perspective, 60° is more than most SPGs!)
Survivability:
The ARMT's turret is covered by 76/50/25 mm of armor, but its large and odd shape is an easy target. The hull is protected by 50/50/25 mm, and should be kept safely out of the line of fire as much as possible.
Mobility:
The 550 hp engine churns out a respectable 45 km/h top speed and good 16.18 hp/t specific power that keeps pace with teammates and enemies and handles various terrain. Grab an optional Turbocharger to get an edge.
M24 Chaffee No. 594
The M24 Chaffee No. 594 is the Premium sports-car version of the American Tech Tree counterpart: It looks sleeker and has bigger wheels albeit with more firepower, but with a lower top speed. At its core, it dutifully fulfills the role of scout and will serve a team well.
Firepower:
The M24 Chaffee No. 594 packs a 75 mm cannon with a lightning-fast 1.5 s aim time that deals a respectable 110/110/175 HP of damage and penetrates 96/143/38 mm of armor. With a reload time of under 5 seconds, that translates to almost 1,500 HP of damage per minute. It can put up a fight from the flanks or against other light tanks, but mediums, heavies, and tank destroyers pose a greater challenge.
Survivability:
Due to the vehicle's light 25/25/19 mm hull and 38/25/25 mm turret armor, sneaky passive scouting is the key to battlefield survival. Even using angling to deflect shots is an incredibly risky proposition. Don't overlook the vehicle's 360 m base view range, though: It can easily exceed 470 m with the right equipment and crew training.
Mobility:
Speed is a key aspect for a light tank, and for the most part the 296 hp engine delivers. Reaching a top speed of 56 km/h, the M24 Chaffee No. 594 may fall behind other same-Tier lights, but it can close the gap (and improve its acceleration) by equipping a turbocharger.
IT-3
Historically, the IT-3 was conceived as a self-propelled anti-tank vehicle to be equipped with a powerful short-barreled 76-mm cannon. In World of Tanks, it's a fast, feisty, and tenacious flanker.
Firepower:
The IT-3 hardly lacks bite. The vehicle carries a stubby 76 mm cannon that deals 110/110/164 HP damage—quickly adding up to 1,320 HP damage per minute. With a dispersion of 0.45 m, it's best to unload on enemies at mid to short range. The 68/100/38 mm penetration is a bit of a drawback, so use caution when taking on heavies—particularly those of higher Tiers.
Survivability:
Rely on the vehicle's mobility to survive because the IT-3's 30/15/15 mm hull and 20/15/15 mm turret armor are liabilities. Not that the vehicle can't bounce the occasional shot, but don't overly rely on it for shelter from incoming rounds—particularly artillery, which can be devastating.
Mobility:
Thanks to a 370 hp engine with 21.76 hp/t specific power, the T-3 has excellent mobility that defines its gameplay. Move actively on the map, break through unprotected enemy flanks, and quickly destroy thinly armored foes. Use the quick acceleration to traverse short distances faster than its enemy peers and 50 km/h top speed to quickly reposition to collapsing flanks to provide extra support.
A7E3
If parts of the A7E3 look familiar, you're correct. Historically, the vehicle never reached production, but components from the prototype (including the suspension, engine, and turret) were adopted for other vehicles, such as the Matilda and Churchill tanks. Although the A7E3 is a light, its strengths are maximized and weaknesses minimized when played as a tank destroyer.
Firepower:
Firepower is the A7E3's biggest strength. With a fantastic 0.35 m dispersion at 100 m, fast 1.6 s aiming time, and good 78/121/23 m penetration, the QF 2-PDR MK. IX cannon can successfully deliver 50/50/60 HP of damage almost any exposed part of an enemy vehicle.
Survivability:
The A7E3's strongest survivability attributes come from it's concealment values—not armor. The A7E3's large size makes it a big target, and it doesn't take much enemy fire to send the vehicle that's covered by 14/9/9 mm of hull and 14/14/14 turret armor back to the Garage. Play the A7E3 like a tank destroyer: Choose a spot carefully, engage enemies from a distance, and put the 17% stationary concealment to good use.
Mobility:
With a top speed of 35 km/h, flanking and changing positions are cumbersome and risk exposure to enemy fire. Best to decide on a position, rely on sniping tactics, and more only when absolutely necessary.
Vickers 6 ton
Within the chaos of automatic cannon fire and clash of speedy machines that characterize Tier II battles, the Vickers 6 ton may feel out of place. But once you grow accustomed to the vehicle's deliberate pace and single-shot accurate cannon, you'll find it plays needed reliable support and "finisher" roles on the battlefield.
Firepower:
The Vickers 6 ton's stubby 47mm cannon has characteristics similar to those of conventional vehicles of the same Tier, dealing 50/50/65 HP of damage and penetrating 55/82/23 mm of armor. With a reload time of almost 3 seconds, choose targets carefully, and don't overlook the −10° of gun depression for hull-down opportunities.
Survivability:
The thin 12/12/12 m of armor on the hull and turret provides minimal protection, but the small turret makes for a tough target for enemies to pinpoint when it's the only exposed part. It's worth noting the Vickers 6 ton comes with a permanent camouflage that gives it a +3 bonus to concealment on all map types (thus saving you the gold to purchase camouflage or a style).
Mobility:
Unlike a majority of same-Tier vehicles, this is not a fast tank. But the 35 km/h top speed forces deliberate planning and allows players to see where the vehicle is needed most—often times to finish off enemies damaged from skirmishes.
