We know that many World of Tanks players with a passion for armored vehicles and action also have a passion for football. Lots of members of our team can relate to that — not a single day goes by now without somebody discussing the latest matches or their predictions for future ones.

And that’s why we decided to launch a special forum-based event that will let you use your knowledge of the football world to earn some helpful rewards in World of Tanks!

[h3]How Does It Work?[/h3]

• This Steam Community event will run until the end of the World Cup on December 18, 2022.
  
• During this event, we will create several special topics in the General Discussions section of World of Tanks Discussions.
  
• These topics will be in English only.
  
• The topics will contain simple questions about one of the upcoming matches. For example, we might ask you to guess how many yellow cards or penalty shots there will be in the match.
  
• You need to answer the question before the match starts! We will check the timestamp, and all answers submitted afterwards will not be accepted.
  
• A player can submit only one answer per topic, but they can submit answers in multiple topics.
  
• Edited comments will not be accepted! Also, the regular discussion rules still apply, so please be polite and respect each other. Any comments that break the discussion rules can be deleted or excluded.
  
• When the match ends, we will check all the submissions in the topic and select those with the right answer. We will post a message with the nicknames of the winners in the same topic, and they will receive their rewards in a couple of days.

Those who submit correct answers can expect to get Personal Reserves, consumables, football-themed decals, and even days of WoT Premium Account!

It’s the first time in the game that the M47 Iron Arnie, the BZ-176, and the Char Mle. 75 will be available, so don't miss your chance to add these unique warriors to your collection! Let's take a closer look at them.







[h2]The M47 Iron Arnie: Ride the Tank Created With Arnold Schwarzenegger![/h2]

The undisputed star of our festive bash is the versatile M47 Iron Arnie, a Tier VIII American medium tank. As the name suggests, this unique tank is inseparably connected to Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of our guests of honor during Holiday Ops 2023.

You probably know that Arnie is a seasoned tanker and served in the Austrian Army from 1965 through 1966, during which time he operated the M47 Patton II tank (331). He later obtained the same vehicle he trained on and now uses it to support his charity. Arnie knows perfectly how to drive and operate it in every possible way, so who better than the man himself to figure out how to make it even greater?

Together with our incredible celebrity, we thought about how to improve Arnie’s M47 Patton II and introduce it to the game so that it would be even cooler for players. Arnie personally initiated several important improvements for his tank, and that's how the M47 Iron Arnie was born. We’re sure you will enjoy these upgrades!

[h2]Advantages and Gameplay[/h2]

The M47 Iron Arnie can be called a “heavier” representative of the famous American tank series but with enhanced armor and a stronger armament. To better protect the tank from enemy shells, we equipped its turret and hull with additional metal screens, which allow you to confidently play on the first line of attack.

To increase the firepower, we replaced the standard 90 mm gun with a more powerful 105 mm cannon. Excellent (for a medium tank) 230 mm of armor penetration with a standard AP shell helps you cause damage even to well-armored opponents. Thanks to its reliable frontal armor and menacing high-penetrating gun, this medium tank can easily operate as a frontline brawler, assisting heavies and breaking through enemy lines. Just note that its aiming time and accuracy are not the best for its tier, so long-range sniping is not the vehicle’s ideal role.

The M47 Iron Arnie features a unique look with Arnold’s signature on it. Its unforgettable character emanates celebrity vibes and makes you a superstar in any battle!

[h2]The BZ-176: Combat Typhoon Featuring the Jet Booster Mechanic[/h2]

The upcoming Chinese heavy tanks featuring the new jet booster mechanic will soon make their Tech Tree debut! We’re actively working on these unusual vehicles, but you already have a chance to try out the pioneer of the new branch: Meet the mighty BZ-176, a Tier VIII Premium tank!

[h2]Advantages and Gameplay[/h2]

The BZ-176 is a heavily armored brawler that is perfectly suited to frontal assaults. Its strong hull and well-sloped turret armor make it easy to deflect shots from same-tier—and even some top-tier—vehicles. Additionally, the gun depression reaches −10 degrees, which is outstanding for a Chinese tank.

Although the BZ-176’s dynamics and top speed are not impressive (30 km/h) due to the vehicle’s strong armor, this is where the new jet booster mechanic will come into play, which can be used from the start of a battle. Upon activation, the jet booster increases both the engine power and the top forward speed, which reaches 45 km/h. Thanks to this boost, the BZ-176 can quickly travel through dangerous areas, leave the line of fire, or rush to support allies.

Keep in mind that you can use the jet booster mechanic only several times in a single battle.

At the start of a battle, the booster will take five seconds to load and prepare for use. Once activated, the tank will receive a brief boost to its engine power and top forward speed. After that, you will need to wait four seconds until the booster is reloaded.

And now, meet the main attraction: The BZ-176 is armed with a 160 mm gun that causes 650 HP of damage with a standard AP shell, as well as an incredible 800 HP with an HE shell with increased penetration (225 mm). Respectable alpha damage is counterbalanced with mediocre accuracy (0.46 m) and a very long reload time (25 seconds), which can be challenging in the heat of a close battle. If the combat situation is not in your favor, take advantage of the jet booster mechanic and make a tactical retreat.

[h2]The Char Mle. 75: A Formidable Scout With Two Speed Modes[/h2]

This vehicle is unique, and that’s not just because it’s the first Tier IX Premium vehicle available in Large Boxes—it’s also the first Tier IX Premium light tank in the game! The Char Mle. 75 has no analogs in World of Tanks as it possesses two distinctive features at once:

1. A gas-turbine engine
   
2. Burst-fire autoloading mechanics
   

It perfectly performs the role of an active scout and is always ready to hunt enemy tanks.

[h2]Advantages and Gameplay[/h2]

Thanks to the gas-turbine engine, the Char Mle. 75 has two speed modes: standard mode (the default one) and rapid mode (the fast one). In the standard mode, the top speed is 55 km/h. But if you switch to the rapid mode, you’ll increase your top speed to 75 km/h and become one of the fastest tracked vehicles in the game!

But, as with the BZ-176, what's truly dangerous is its gun. The Char Mle. 75 is equipped with a six-shell autoloader that fires three shells in a single burst, each of which causes 200 HP of damage. You only need two clicks to unleash a hail of shells on your opponent!

To adapt to this hunter and learn how to make the most of its whirlwind gameplay, you’ll have to play smart. You should constantly analyze the situation on the battlefield and adapt to it by switching between the two speed modes. If necessary, you can play the role of both an active scout and a lightning-fast flanker, finishing off stragglers or tanks low on HP. If you can tame the hurricane power of the Char Mle. 75, you will be able to make a decisive contribution to your team’s victory.

IMPORTANT!

The Char Mle. 75’s specificity is that switching between engine modes also affects some of its combat characteristics. Check out the differences in the parameters between cruise and rapid modes in the table below.

[h2]Large Boxes: What’s Inside?[/h2]

All Large Boxes will always guarantee 250 gold as a default gift. As a bonus with each Large Box, you will also get 150 random Holiday Ops resources, plus 50 additional resources—which one depends on the Box’s type.

There’s no way you can lose out—all the goods you get are worth more than the box!

Rock Crystal and Pure Emerald are used to upgrade the Festive Atmosphere Level, while Warm Amber and Meteoric Iron are needed to complete the Guests’ and Redshire Cat’s Assignments. Keep reading for more details.

In addition to the resources and gold, which will never change, a Box will also drop a surprise item from the list below:

• 1, 3, or 7 days of WoT Premium Account

The Cat provides you with three additional Assignments. For each of them, you will receive one reward upon completion. Use Warm Amber and Meteoric Iron to fulfill them and get your hands on the following:

[h2]Guaranteed Vehicle Mechanics[/h2]

Large Boxes feature guaranteed vehicle mechanics. It’s simple: If you open 49 boxes but still have not received a Premium vehicle, then, with the 50th opening, you’re guaranteed to receive a random Premium Tier VIII or IX tank that you don’t own from the set list below.

There will be a special guaranteed vehicle counter in the game client on the Large Box opening screen. Each time you get a Tier VIII or IX Premium tank, this counter is reset, and the countdown to the next Tier VIII or IX vehicle drop starts over.

As soon as you have all the Tier VIII and IX vehicles from Large Boxes on your account, you will be compensated in gold for the value of each subsequent dropped tank according to the standard rules. A Garage slot will also be added.

[h2]Formidable Tanks for Your Collection[/h2]

The most valuable and coveted gifts you might find inside Gift Large Boxes are the formidable Tier VIII and IX Premium tanks, including three brand-new vehicles. Each box may contain one Tier VIII or IX Premium tank from the following list:

• NEW! The M47 Iron Arnie: A multi-role Tier VIII American medium tank, and the undisputed star among our brand-new headliners! This is an improved version of the M47 Patton II tank, with an enhanced armament and armor, and is based on the same vehicle that Arnold Schwarzenegger owns! Additional protection is provided by metal screens on the turret and hull, and a 105 mm gun was installed for firepower. Its dynamics and aiming time are not the best at Tier VIII, but they are well made up for by the excellent 230 mm of armor penetration with a standard AP shell and outstanding frontal protection. The multi-role M47 Iron Arnie can play as a powerful assault tank on the most dangerous sectors of the front line and carry its team.
  
  

  The M47 Iron Arnie comes with a special style that emanates celebrity vibes and will remind your opponents who the real battle star on the battlefield is!

• NEW! The BZ-176: A Chinese Tier VIII heavy tank, and a pioneer of the upcoming branch featuring the new jet booster mechanic. This slow but sturdy brawler has excellent armor characteristics, reaching 250 mm in the turret. Another feature of the BZ-176 is its 160 mm gun with good aiming time, and a damage per shot of 650 HP with a standard AP shell. Just beware of its very long reload time. The BZ-176 has a top speed of 30 km/h, but keep in mind that the jet booster mechanic increases the engine power and top forward speed, turning your vehicle into an unstoppable combat typhoon clearing everything in its path.
  
• NEW! The Char Mle. 75: A French Tier IX light tank, and a truly unique vehicle for your collection. This agile scout with skill-based gameplay features two speed modes: standard mode (the default one) and rapid mode (the fast one). It is armed with a 100 mm gun equipped with a six-shell autoloader. But the most interesting hallmark is that the gun fires bursts of several shells, not single shots. The burst includes three shells, each of which causes 200 HP of damage. The vehicle’s gameplay is based on the timely switching between the two speed modes.
  
• The Vipera: An Italian Tier VIII tank destroyer with a significant 400 HP of alpha damage and 220 mm of default penetration. It packs a powerful autoloader, firing five shells in 24 seconds, with an unconventional six-second delay between shots. Plenty of frontal armor, a semi-traversable turret, and -10 degrees of gun depression make this viper the ultimate hunter, allowing you to cause a quick 2,000 HP of damage.
  
• The AMBT: An American Tier VIII medium tank featuring a three-shell autoreloader. As the game’s first American autoreloader, the AMBT is a hybrid between single-shot and autoloading tanks. This, combined with its ricochet-friendly hull design, reliable turret, and appreciable gun depression, makes the AMBT a great tank for hull-down tactics. This gunslinger gives you the tools you need to become a unique support warrior in any battle!
  

However, you might receive one of these Tier II–V Premium vehicles instead. All of them are real historical projects:

• NEW! The A25 Harry Hopkins I: A Tier IV British light tank. This is a classic British light scout with a chassis from the Tetrarch I tank, plus a reinforced hull and an improved turret. Armed with a fast-firing 2-pdr Gun Mk X-B HH cannon, the A25 Harry Hopkins I is great for all fans of an aggressive and assertive playstyle.
  
• NEW! The Pz.Kpfw. KW I (r): A Tier V German heavy tank. This is a captured KV-1 tank with a modernized turret and a German 7,5 cm Kw.K. 40 L/48 gun. This tank retained the main features from the KV-1: decent all-around armor and good armament, but poor mobility. Unlike the KV-1, it has a better damage-to-rate of fire ratio—it causes less damage per shot but reloads faster. The Pz.Kpfw. KW I (r) also features a higher view range thanks to the commander’s cupola on the turret.
  
• NEW! The SU-2-122: A Tier V Soviet tank destroyer, and another one-of-a kind vehicle. This is the first double-barreled TD and the first double-barreled HE-based gameplay vehicle in the game. Externally, it is a chassis from a T-34 tank, on top of which is a cabin with two 122 mm howitzer guns. They can fire HE or HEAT rounds simultaneously or one after the other. For the opportunity to destroy a same-tier vehicle with one double shot, you will have to pay with poor accuracy and aiming time. The SU-2-122 also inherited decent mobility and mediocre hull armor from the T-34.
  
• The Pz.Kpfw. 38H 735 (f): A Tier II German light tank. During the French Campaign, Germany captured about 600 Hotchkiss 39 vehicles, which were modified and continued to serve in Wehrmacht units. World of Tanks veterans may remember that the "Minimaus" or "Hotchy" was once the most feared tank in Tier II battles. It is basically a Hotchkiss H35 with significantly better top speed, hit points, frontal armor, view range, and penetration. You may use it as a breakthrough tank or a durable sniper.
  
• The М3 Light: A Tier III Soviet light tank. This legendary vehicle was created in 1938–1941 based on the M2 and entered mass production in 1941. A total of 13,000 vehicles of different modifications were produced and supplied to almost all Allies under Lend-Lease. This vehicle features very good frontal armor for a light tank, immune to most guns. The М3 Light is an effective flanker, and it has a fast-firing gun but low penetration, so shooting at the sides of enemy tanks is a must.
  

[h2]Amazing 3D Styles for Tier IX and X Vehicles[/h2]

You might also find another item instead: a brand-new 3D style* for one of the following vehicles:

• Jupiter Fulgur for the Super Conqueror
  
• Sleipnir for the Strv 103B
  
• Asterius for the Controcarro 3 Minotauro
  
• Constellation for the Bat.-Châtillon 155 58
  
• Levante for the Char Futur 4
  

*If you don’t currently own the vehicle, you will still receive the 3D style, and you can apply it once you have the tank. You can only get one 3D style of each kind per account, which means that the styles that you have already obtained will no longer drop.

Finally, you may find one of six stunning 3D styles from last year’s Large Boxes for the following vehicles:

• Thunder Child for the FV4005 Stage II
  
• Hurricane for the Vz. 55
  
• Fair Trade for the Object 268 Version 4
  
• Fortuna for the Rinoceronte

If you receive a vehicle that is already in your Garage, you will be compensated its full value in gold, no matter how many times it happens. A free Garage slot will also be added.

All items dropped from opened Large Boxes will be displayed on a special screen in the game client so you can easily keep track of the gifts you have received.

If you still have unopened Large Boxes at the end of the event on your account, they will be opened automatically. Once the event ends, any Large Boxes that you sent as gifts but were not opened by their recipients will return to your account and be opened automatically.
