Battle Pass Season VII: Queen of the Night FAQ

Commanders!

Queen of the Night, Battle Pass Season VII's Temporary Chapter, has arrived, bringing the first chance to get the ShPTK-TVP 100, a brand-new Czechoslovakian tank destroyer—the first of its kind—and its unique 3D style!

We've answered some frequently asked questions below, so you can jump straight into the action equipped with all the info you need.
Frequently Asked Questions

How can I progress through the Temporary Chapter and earn the new tank?
Firstly, and most importantly, activate the Temporary Chapter to start completing it. To do so, go to the Chapter selection screen, select the fourth, additional Chapter, and click "Activate Chapter."

You have about 10 days to complete 40 Stages, each bringing 50 Battle Pass Points. As with the other Battle Pass Chapters, there are two Reward Tracks—Base and Improved. Complete the Base Reward Track to earn the ShPTK-TVP 100. Improved rewards include the Queen of the Night 3D style, bonds, blueprints, and more.
Can I invest unspent Battle Pass Points into Temporary Chapter progression?
In general, the Temporary Chapter works the same as the three main Chapters but with a small difference.

Battle Pass Points are earned through battle results, completing daily missions, and as bonus Points from Core Vehicles.

Battle Pass Points that were earned earlier but not used cannot be invested into the progression of the Temporary Chapter.

Only Battle Pass Points earned while the Temporary Chapter is active will count towards its progression. So, if you have undistributed Battle Pass Points, you should invest them into the progression of the three main Chapters.
Are daily missions useful for Battle Pass progression?
Completing 3 daily missions earns you 45 Points—that's up to 450 Points during the entire Temporary Chapter period. The missions are not difficult and are available to complete in Random Battles (including Grand Battles). If one of three missions doesn't suit your playstyle, you can change its conditions once every 4 hours.

Completing all three daily missions unlocks a bonus mission. Completing it will earn 25 additional Battle Pass Points, so, in total, you can earn up to 700 Battle Pass Points from completing daily missions.

2,000 Points are required to complete the Temporary Chapter. The remaining Points can be earned from Random Battles, Ranked Battles, and Core Vehicles.
Do Core Vehicles earn increased Points for the Temporary Chapter, and is there a limit?
Yes, Core Vehicles still earn increased Points, making them very effective for completing the Temporary Chapter.

The Core Vehicles for Battle Pass Season VII are the Leopard 1, T110E4, and Kranvagn.

The limit on earning Battle Pass Points persists across the whole Season, including the Temporary Chapter. If you reached the limit previously, the Battle Pass Points won't count towards the progression of the Temporary Chapter when playing in Core Vehicles.

If you hit the vehicle Point Limit after activating the Temporary Chapter, the bonus Points will count towards the progression.
How does the Improved Pass work?
The Improved Battle Pass of the Temporary Chapter costs 2,000 Gold. Once you purchase it, you will receive additional rewards for already completed Stages and for completed further Stages. You can also purchase Stages at the cost of 250 Gold per Stage.

Players select the number of Stages to purchase themselves; that's why the cost of completing the Temporary Chapter is defined by the player themselves.

Including the cost of the Improved Battle Pass, it costs 12,000 Gold to purchase all 40 Stages and unlock all rewards.
What can I expect from the reward vehicle, the ShPTK-TVP 100?
This is a light-armored tank destroyer with excellent standard shell DPM and armor penetration. It's a quick-firing vehicle with good mobility and a fully rotating turret. Since its armor is weak and it has limited HP, you should play it extremely carefully.

Take advantage of its concealment values, using bushes and returning to cover between shots, or support your allies from safe areas of the battlefield.

The parameters displayed are valid for the vehicle with each crew member trained to 100% major qualification level. Some vehicle characteristics can be further improved with the Commander's bonus to major qualification level, crew perks, and skills, as well as special in-game items.
Time-Limited "Queen of the Night" Chapter: Let’s Refresh the Challenge Format!
We’re offering you a fresh and experimental take on your favorite opportunity to get a Premium vehicle for free. This time-limited Chapter will be available for 10 days as part of Battle Pass Season VII. If you complete it, you can get the first-ever Czechoslovakian tank destroyer in the game for free!

During the launch of an additional Chapter, we're testing several new mechanics, one of which is the complexity of the progression system for players.

The Chapter's progression value was calculated based on all sources of earning Battle Pass Points. It is important for us that you use all these sources to earn Points and advance through the progression, especially Daily Missions—they can earn you a significant number of Points. Another important source is the increased number of Points that Battle Pass Core Vehicles earn.

After the Chapter has finished, we will evaluate this new format to see if it is worth continuing in the future.
How It Works
As with the three main Chapters, this additional Chapter needs to be manually selected and confirmed in order to start earning rewards for your progress. Considering the Chapter is limited in time, it is better to activate it and start completing it as soon as it becomes available.

The progression system works in the same way as in the main Chapters but for a limited period of time. Upon completing it, you will receive a brand-new Premium vehicle for free. Now let’s see what the Chapter's main differences are and dig into the details.
 • You earn Battle Pass Progression Points according to the standard rules, based on the results of the battle. Battle Pass Core Vehicles—the Leopard 1 , the Kranvagn , and the T110E4 —still have increased Point Limits and can earn more Points in battles, assuming you haven't reached their Point Limits.
 • You also earn Points for completing Daily Missions and the Bonus Mission.
 • You will be rewarded with additional Battle Pass Points when the Point Limit for a vehicle has been reached, even if you started filling the Limit before the start of this Chapter.
All Point Limits that apply throughout the Season also apply to the additional Chapter.
Daily Missions will be an important source of progression completion. To get the most out of these Missions, you will need to complete them on a regular basis. However, Daily Missions are quite doable and don't take much time to complete. And remember that if you don't like the conditions of a particular Mission, you can re-roll it!

You cannot invest Progression Points previously earned in Battle Pass into your progress in this time-limited Chapter.

Compared to the familiar challenge format, the additional Chapter offers more options and flexibility. Now, the whole process will be more manageable, and it will be easier for you to estimate how much effort it will take to complete the Chapter and get the main prize for free.
Reward Tracks
The Chapter involves completing 40 consecutive Stages instead of 10. With the increase in Stages, it will now be easier for you to plan your time. The Chapter has one progression system but two Reward Tracks: Base Rewards and Improved Rewards. Each Stage completed in the Base Rewards Track will bring you useful prizes, including:
 • Days of WoT Premium Account
 • Bonds
 • Credits
 • And much more!

When all 40 Stages in the Base Rewards Track are completed within the given timeframe, you will get the ShPTK-TVP 100 for free. This vehicle comes with a 100% trained crew.

[expand]

[/expand]
Want to receive even more rewards, such as Personal Reserves and Crew Books? Get the Improved Pass for this additional Chapter to unlock the Improved Rewards Track. After that, you will receive all Improved Rewards for the Stages you have already completed in the first Track. The main prize for this Improved Reward Track is a spectacular 3D style for the ShPTK-TVP 100.

[expand]

[/expand]
As before, you determine the final cost of the vehicle. It will depend on the number of Battle Pass Stages you have completed, just like in the main Chapters. Purchasing an Improved Pass allows you to purchase any number of Progression Stages. It is up to you to decide how many Stages to complete while playing World of Tanks, and how many to buy for gold.

There will be no “last call” period for making a purchase. Don’t miss the deadline, and make your decision before the morning of May 23 when the extra Chapter ends.
Meet the ShPTK-TVP 100!
This Tier VIII Premium vehicle is the first Czechoslovakian tank destroyer in the game. This vehicle has exactly the characteristics that you would expect from a lightly armored support TD, so its gameplay requires you to be prudent and see opportunities on the battlefield.

The parameters displayed are valid for the vehicle with each crew member trained to 100% major qualification level. Some vehicle characteristics can be further improved with the Commander's bonus to major qualification level, crew perks, and skills, as well as special in-game items.

[expand]

[/expand]
One of its main advantages is its high 270 mm penetration with standard AP shells. You'll be able to penetrate even well-armored targets and cause damage in battles with vehicles of all tiers. But in battles with Tier X opponents, you'll have to aim more carefully. You will also need to get used to the shell velocity of standard AP shells. On the other hand, they lose less armor penetration at a distance and have better normalization after hitting the armor.

The vehicle’s mobility and high top speed of 55 km/h are excellent compared to other Tier VIII vehicles, so you can quickly reach positions you want, depending on the current combat situation. This is very important for good performance in battles, but you need to create opportunities to get the most out of this vehicle's DPM.

Its accurate , sharp-shooting gun has excellent aiming and reload time (5.4 seconds) and delivers an incredible DPM of 2,778 HP. It is achieved thanks to the high rate of fire, while the alpha damage is rather modest. Therefore, you need to learn how to make the most of the opportunities that the vehicle provides. You need to choose the right positions and play carefully from behind your allies.

A fully rotating turret is another trick up your sleeve. It allows you to control wider areas of the battlefield , staying in position and using all its advantages.

Always remember your concealment values, use all the bushes, and don't forget to roll back after a shot. Given your low HP and high DPM, it's better to avoid a possible enemy shot than to take an extra shot yourself. A high rate of fire will allow you to catch up and seek revenge against your opponents, but the low HP will require you to use rather prudent tactics.

Field Modification will be especially useful for this vehicle. For example, it will allow you to reduce the unmasking effect after a shot, which is very important for the ShPTK-TVP 100.

Roll out and get the brand-new ShPTK-TVP 100, Commanders!

Art of Strategy: FAQ

Commanders!

The Art of Strategy event continues! If you still haven’t experienced this unique mode yourself, we recommend to first check out this article or play the tutorial in-game to get a comprehensive rundown of the event.

But before you jump in, let's shed some light on how the AI squad under the Strategist's command work. We'll also clarify several details and answer some of your most frequently asked questions.
Do Tanks Dream of Electric Sheep?
Each of the seven vehicles in your squad is a full-fledged AI-controlled combat unit. Watching the battle from a strategic view and assessing the combat situation, you can give them commands to move, attack, withdraw, defend, etc. While the basics of these orders are clear, here’s some extra info on how exactly the vehicles execute those orders.

Move — you right-click on the ground, the vehicle goes there. Simple, right? Wait, there’s a lot more complexity to that.

While moving to the designated position, the vehicle will try to follow a path that has cover protecting it from enemy fire. Moreover, it will stop to shoot if there is a target available:
 • if the vehicle is undetected and can penetrate the target's armor;
 • if the target can be destroyed with 1-2 shots and the shot can penetrate its armor;
 • if the vehicle can inflict more damage than it will receive within the next 5 seconds.
The vehicle will shoot on the move if the chance to hit the selected target exceeds 75%.

If you double-click on a location and issue a Rush command, the vehicle will follow the shortest path to the location, ignore enemy fire, and will shoot on the move.

In any case, once it arrives, the vehicle will search for cover within 25 meters of the specified location — preferably from which it can engage visible targets while being protected from their return fire. If undetected, the vehicle will try to hide behind vegetation. So don’t be puzzled if you see your vehicle repositioning a bit after it arrives at the designated location – it's simply searching for an optimal spot.

Your vehicles will always check whether they can engage enemy targets and which ones to attack to the best effect. When doing so, they analyze a great range of parameters such as:
 • Distance to target — the closer the better;
 • Exposure — whether the target has any exposed weak points;
 • Hit chance — how likely it is that the shot will connect;
 • Penetration chance — how likely it is that the shot will penetrate;
 • Enemy remaining HP — low-HP targets are prioritized;
 • Base capture — targets capturing the base are prioritized;
 • Auto-loaders — all other factors being equal, your vehicles will try to eliminate targets with autoloaders first;
 • Many other factors.
When you manually issue an Attack command, the vehicle will only fire at the designated target. It will fire immediately if it has a clear line of fire and the gun is loaded. Then it will search for cover where it is best protected from all visible targets while still able to engage them. If undetected, it will try to hide behind concealment; otherwise it will only look for cover, prioritizing ones that it can reach without losing more than 5% of its HP.

The vehicle may leave cover to make a shot if it will remain undetected, deal more damage than it will receive in return, or if it won’t lose more than 5% of its HP.

If the enemy is within 80 meters from your vehicle, your vehicle may attempt to circle around the target, and will definitely do so if you issue the Charge order by double-clicking an enemy vehicle.

In this case, the vehicle will close in on the target and circle around it if it has an advantage in movement speed, enabling it to outpace the rotation of the target’s turret. It will shoot the target’s tracks if they are still intact or if it cannot penetrate the target’s armor, and will attempt to stay behind the target’s gun. Your vehicle may even attempt a ramming attack if it has a weight advantage over the target and isn’t too low on HP.

There’s actually a lot more about how AI-controlled vehicles make decisions, but why read about it all when you can learn in battle? See you out on the field, Strategists!

Are there any limitations when selecting vehicles for Strategist?

When editing the squad as a Strategist, every slot in the squad is limited to a certain vehicle type. Additionally, having two identical vehicles in your squad is not allowed.

These seven vehicles will be controlled by AI, but you can assume control of any selected vehicle at any time during battle by pressing the "Q" button.

NOTE: Please note that assuming control of a vehicle stops all orders given to that vehicle. Press Q again to stop controlling the vehicle.
What kind of perks do reward crews have?

All crews come with Brothers in Arms as a zero perk and enough crew XP to immediately learn another perk or skill of the player’s choice.

Can I get Battle Pass Points by playing Art of Strategy?

You cannot get Battle Pass Points through Art of Strategy, but you can still get credits and customizations by completing the Art of Strategy collection.

Can I play Tankers with my friends in platoon?

No, you can only enter the matchmaking alone.
Set Up Your Strategy!
Art of Strategy is an event that features many brand-new and unique mechanics for World of Tanks. During the event, to make the gameplay experience more enjoyable for both Tankers and Strategists, some balance changes and tweaks may be made, including significant ones.

Art of Strategy battles take place in two formats for Tier X vehicles only.
 • 1v7 format. Seven Tankers fight against one Strategist who commands seven AI-controlled vehicles in real time. For combat, the Strategist also selects three (out of six) types of defenses.
 • 1v1 format. In this duel, two Strategists will fight for supremacy. Both players start on an equal footing with seven AI-controlled vehicles each. Before battle, both Strategists can deploy three types of defenses to pre-arranged positions.
From April 21 through 24, only 1v1 battles will be available in the event. Use this time to learn the specifics of playing as a Strategist and to master the variety of available tools. Try different squad compositions, choose various defenses, and use a variety of tactics. This will help you oppose the Tankers more effectively in the 1v7 format once it is unlocked.

Starting from April 25, you will need special event currency—Intel and Orders—to play as the Strategist in the 1v7 and 1v1 formats. You can earn them by playing as a Tanker, as well as by completing a special daily mission (more about that below). Intel and Orders are credited depending on the result of battles within the event and are distributed among players on the Tanker team.

You will also receive 300 Orders as a starting bonus when you first log in to the game after April 25.
 • To play as a Strategist against the Tankers in the 1v7 format, you need 100 Intel.
 • To fight against another Strategist in the 1v1 format, 100 Orders are required.
If the queue time to enter battle is too long, or the number of Strategists is insufficient, the matchmaker may allow you to play as a Strategist even if you do not have the required quantity of Intel and Orders.

To make sure that you always have enough event currency to play in the event, we have designed a special daily mission that will be available in-game from April 25 through May 4. You can find it in the “MISSIONS” tab of your Garage.
Help Is on the Way
Conditions:
 • Play 5 battles and be among the top 10 players on your team by Combat XP earned
Rewards:
 • 300 Intel
 • 300 Orders
Restrictions:
 • Random and Grand Battles only
 • Once per day
 • Only in Tier VI–X vehicles
Completing this mission will give you the opportunity to play six more battles as the Strategist: three in the 1v1 format, and three in the 1v7 format. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the event for longer!

Now let’s take a detailed look at the event itself.
General Rules
• The Strategist has a squad of seven AI-controlled Tier X vehicles under their command. They can fight without directly controlling each vehicle, but if they do not set Stances or issue the appropriate commands (e.g., attack, withdraw, capture the base, etc.), they will not be victorious. The Strategist also sets routes for their vehicles, watching the battlefield from a bird's-eye view and moving freely over the map.
 • Additionally, the Strategist has auxiliary defenses at their disposal. These cannot be controlled directly. Their positions are fixed, and they act as independent combat units.
 • During the countdown before battle (60 seconds), the Strategist should deploy their vehicles and defenses at the pre-arranged key positions on the map or use the auto-deploy function. If you run out of time for deployment, the system will deploy the remaining units automatically.
 • At any time, the Strategist can assume control of any vehicle in their squad and command it individually.
 • In each battle, the Tanker team and the Strategist will earn credits, depending on the battle outcome and their personal performance:
Objectives of the Teams
Each team in the Art of Strategy event has the same objective: destroy all enemy vehicles or capture the base.

The base capture time is 60 seconds for both the Tankers and the Strategist, regardless of the number of vehicles participating in the capture.

If neither team completes its objective within the allotted time, the battle ends in a draw.
Playing as a Tanker
Playing as a Tanker should feel familiar to you as it is similar to what you are used to in Random Battles.

During the countdown before battle, the Tankers can decide on their tactics and distribute the roles in the squad, taking into account the vehicles they have selected. Act as a team—this is the key to success. Breaking the defense of the Strategist and repelling their counterattacks alone will be extremely difficult.

Always be aware of the defenses that the Strategist has at their disposal. Concealed Watchtowers will warn the Strategist of your approach. At the same time, Flamethrowers, MRLs (Multiple Rocket Launchers), and other defenses can repel even the most rapid attack and provide support if the Strategist starts an offensive.

Depending on the battle results, the Tankers will receive Intel and Orders—in-game currencies that are distributed among all commanders. The better your performance and the more base experience you earn, the more Intel and Orders you will receive.
Playing as a Strategist: Stances and Commands
When playing as a Strategist, you will have a squad of seven vehicles at your disposal. Each of them is a full-fledged AI-controlled combat unit. Watching the battle from a strategic view and assessing the combat situation, you can set routes and one of three Stances for the vehicles. Stances are certain patterns of behavior on the battlefield that the vehicles follow when under AI control:
Adapt
Default Stance for all the Strategist's vehicles. Vehicles will seek cover within a certain radius of the designated position and will defend the area by firing at attacking opponents.
Recon
Vehicles seek cover and transmit scouting data to their allies, trying to stay concealed. When spotted, the vehicles will try to withdraw to cover. If no cover can be found, they will engage the opponent.
Hold
Vehicles hold the designated position and engage targets when possible. Vehicles will change their positions only after receiving a command to attack.

[expand]
When executing this Stance, vehicles with a limited horizontal gun or turret arc (e.g., the Badger, K-91, etc.) will seek targets and rotate their hull to cover a 90° sector of fire set by the Strategist.

[/expand]
You can set Stances for vehicles not only in battle but also before it starts (both on the Squad Panel and during the countdown).

In addition to setting Stances, the Strategist can give commands to attack, withdraw, defend the base, etc. There are seven commands in total. Here's how the vehicles respond to them:
Attack
The vehicle opens fire at the selected target if it is able to do so.
Charge
The vehicle will try to get as close as possible to the selected target and engage it in close combat, trying to attack it from the side or rear. It continues until the target is destroyed or the command is canceled.
Move
The vehicle moves to the specified point without stopping. If, on the way, it encounters an enemy that can be damaged or destroyed, it will stop to attack. Having reached the specified position, the vehicle will continue executing the set Stance.
Rush
The vehicle will move to the specified point via the shortest path possible. It will fire on the move, but it won't stop to fire. Once in position, it will continue to execute the set Stance.
Withdraw
The vehicle will withdraw along the shortest path to the specified point, keeping its frontal armor to the enemy. Once in position, it will continue to execute the set Stance.
Capture Base
A variation of the Move command. The vehicle will stay within the enemy base.
Defend Base
Another variation of the Move command. The vehicle will move to its base and try to prevent base capturing.

The Strategist can give a series of commands. To do this, add several commands to the queue while holding Shift. The vehicle will execute them sequentially in the order they were added to the queue. If you have given a command or series of commands, pressing the Spacebar will cancel them.

In battle, each vehicle from the Strategist's squad will be marked with a special commander icon and a sequence number. You can quickly switch between them by using the corresponding number keys. You can also command several vehicles at once by adding them to groups.
Manual Control of Vehicles by the Strategist
Are you ready to finish the enemy off and ensure a spectacular victory? Or maybe the situation on the battlefield is becoming critical and it is necessary to repel an attack by the Tankers at all costs? Assume control of any vehicle in your squad and command it individually. This way, you can show your skills and turn the tide of battle at the right time.

To assume control of a vehicle, select it and press Q. Please note that assuming control of a vehicle stops all orders given to that vehicle. Press Q again to stop controlling the vehicle.
Defenses
The Strategist has defenses at their disposal. They will automatically assist the Strategist in battle. The Strategist cannot give commands to defenses but can deploy them to key positions on the map during the countdown before battle. Each defense has its own range and parameters.
Preparing Squads
Vehicles for the Strategist's squad are selected in the event Garage. Click the squad composition button and fill all seven slots with Tier X vehicles. You will be able to select any researchable and collectible Tier X vehicles that exist in the game, with the following exceptions:
 • Vehicles earned for various in-game activities (e.g., T95/FV4201 Chieftain, Object 279 early, etc.)
 • Panhard EBR 105
 • ST-II
 • Strv 103B
 • M-V-Y
 • CS-63
All vehicles selected by the Strategist will have equipment, consumables, and a crew trained to 100%, regardless of the availability and condition of such vehicles in the player's Garage.

Slots for the Strategist's vehicles have restrictions on the vehicle type. Additionally, you cannot have two identical vehicles in a squad. Experiment and choose a squad composition that best suits your playstyle. This will allow you to fend off the Tankers more effectively and increase your chances of victory. The Strategist can also select defenses on the Squad Panel.

Once the squad is ready, click the "Battle!" button to start the battle.

To enter battle, the Tankers need to select a Tier X vehicle in their Garage. It should be repaired and have a full crew and ammo loaded. The Tankers cannot join battle in a wheeled vehicle or in vehicles earned for activities on the Global Map and for Personal Missions.
Build the Event Collection and Get Rewards!
The Art of Strategy progression consists of four consecutive Stages and involves assembling the event Collection with different customization elements. To fill the progression meter and complete the Stages, you need to fulfill special missions in the event.

Each day, you will have access to two daily missions for both the Strategist and the Tankers. For completing two missions for the Strategist, you will receive two random Collection items. The same goes for completing two missions for the Tankers. Every customization item is unique—each one will drop just once. They include styles, medals, inscriptions, decals, badges, and five unique and fully trained crew members with Brothers in Arms as a zero perk, plus enough experience to learn an additional perk of your choice.

There are three leaderboards within the Art of Strategy event: two leaderboards for playing as a Strategist (1v1 and 1v7 formats), and one leaderboard for playing as a Tanker. To get placed on the leaderboard, you must fight a certain number of battles in the corresponding mode.

The position on the leaderboard will depend on the number of points earned for victories, defeats, and draws. Only the top 1,000 players will get a place on the leaderboard. To get onto it, you need to play at least 5 battles. Players who end up at the top of the respective leaderboards will be awarded unique badges and decals.

Good luck, Commanders! Choose your side in this showdown, assemble the event's Collection, and get your hands on nice rewards!
