Royal Rumble is the 15th minigame addition to our roster, as voted for by the community!

In πŸ‘‘ Royal Rumble, your goal is simple: hold the crown longer than anyone else!

For now, it reuses the πŸ’£ Explosive Exchange map, because why launch a new minigame with a terribly work-in-progress map when we can reuse one that’s already proven to be great for chasing players? πŸƒβ€βž‘οΈ

⚠️ As with most WIP minigames, πŸ‘‘ Royal Rumble is probably COMPLETELY unbalanced and will receive big improvements and changes over the coming updates! βš’οΈ

Summit Scramble has also graduated from WIP... again! πŸ˜…πŸŽ“

This minigame has been perpetually WIP, mainly due to persistent balancing issues. Still, it started feeling odd to keep a fully functional but somewhat unbalanced minigame in the WIP section, especially when we see a small percentage of players calling 🏳️ Summit Scramble one of their niche favorites.

That said, we’ve also made a few tweaks to improve balance: a clearer scorebar, updated point calculations, and more. Let's see how these changes perform in action! 🧐🎬

We've added a (work-in-progress) replay system to allow you to re-experience your best moments, whether in minigames or condos!
Replays can be started and stopped by pressing F9, and they can then be watched inside your condo, by checking the 'Replays' tab inside the 'Extras' tab! 🍿🎞️

Replays are great for content creators, for "normal people" to share with friends, and for us devs to analyze games, because it's not a static video - you get to move the camera around like in spectator mode! πŸ“Ή

⚠️ There's a lot of work left to do on replays. For example, replays don't work well yet in most minigames. Next update we'll hopefully have patched every minigame to fix this. Until then, Blazing Bullets and Condo replays seem to work quite flawlessly!

[h3]☒️ Parkour Panic[/h3]
Parkour Panic has historically been the minigame that's both the toughest for noobs, and the easiest for pros. Noobs (literally) die as soon as humanly possible, and pros consistently reach the roof - both of which should be impossible! 🀯

How do you make a game harder for pros, while easier for noobs at the same time? Well, today we present yet another attempt at solving the balancing nightmare that is Parkour Panic! 🧐

To make the game harder for pros, booster pads are now disabled when high above the acid. This makes the game relatively easier for noobs, as they are usually closer to the acid. On top of that, it also makes the game more intense for pros, who have been craving more challenge. πŸ’ͺ

To make the game even more easier for noobs, we've increased the platform count by ~15%. This will both make platform paths easier to spot, while also allowing noobs to easier find footing when falling from heights - hopefully reducing their death rate. Considering pros already have no trouble finding paths and generally don't fall, they shouldn't be buffed by this. πŸ˜…

We also fixed a rare gamebreaking issue where no platform spawned on a layer whatsoever! πŸͺ²

Will Parkour Panic finally be balanced? We'll find out by analyzing the data throughout this month. 🧠

Crumble Crisis has been rebalanced in many ways, ultimately making the game easier again for beginners. That said, we'll be balancing the game in multiplayer LIVE today during the dev session in our Discord. πŸ₯Ά

Balancing is an ever-evolving action, as it depends on the playerbase as much as the minigame itself. Metas and strategies are constantly evolving, and we've noticed players getting too good at being goalkeepers/camping their goals, leading some matches to be concluded in boring ties! πŸ₯±

For this reason, goals now become 10% larger towards the end of the game. πŸƒβ€βž‘οΈβš½πŸ₯…

Last week we added minigame playlists to the game, allowing players to customize the minigames that would show up in their private games. βš™οΈ

This week we've added the playlist presets dropdown, where you can select some pre-created playlists to enjoy with friends! 😳

For example, the "Dodgy" playlist consists of minigames where you're supposed to dodge something. 🧠

Freefall Frenzy got its first update in months, with a new skyline being the first change since V0.9.6! πŸŒ‡

We also changed its minigame thumbnail to be more purplish, to finally be able to distinguish it from Crumble Crisis! πŸ‘οΈ

[h3]🧊 Crumble Crisis[/h3]
Crumble Crisis has been re-balanced, once again, to nerf cheesy boring strategies! The way we've rebalanced it right now should allow for the most varying amount of playstyles to be valid.

Last update we nerfed the heck out of jumping, by making it cause a huge crack in the ice. However, that change made normal, non-cheesy play too difficult, as this also requires some amount of jumping.

This update though, we've changed it so that the size of ice breakage caused by jumping is determined by how you land on the ice. If you keep your horizontal speed high, the crack will be less big. If you land completely still on an ice sheet, it will cause a bigger crack. This is actually physically realistic btw!! πŸ€“β˜οΈ

We also added some detection for whether the ice is connected or not when creating cracks, so jumps will no longer cause cracks on the other side of a chasm. 🧠

That said, the balancing is currently based on solo-play. Multiplayer balancing will be done live in today's dev play session, which you can join here, every two weeks!

As the game has grown over time, there's been more and more goodies to collect and buy. However, we still reward you players like we have to be frugal! No more, I say! πŸ’ΈπŸ€‘

We have DOUBLED the coins gained from matches & started streak #1 at a much higher coin reward than before! 🀩🫣

Both these changes should allow the average player to open a new case every 15 minutes of playtime (was 30 minutes before). And as we all know, more rewards = more fun! 🀀

[h3]πŸš€ 2x Rank Reward Boost[/h3]
The more minigames we add, the harder it becomes to rank up in any specific one of them, because your time gets split up over more and more minigames. Since release at 7 minigames, the difficulty of ranking up has doubled, because we now have 14 minigames! 😳

That's why we've made you rank up twice as fast! 🀩🫣

This change should revert the difficulty back to how it used to be, and possibly even making it a little easier as well. 🀀

It's taken a long time, but it's finally here! We've added minigame playlists!
With the playlists feature, you can select which minigames will appear on the voting screens in your private games! 🀩

Now you and your friends can pick and choose exactly the minigames you like! Want to play only survival games? Pick those! Just wanna hit the disco or play footie? You got it! βš™οΈ

You can even select no minigames at all, disabling voting altogether, causing fully-random minigames to be served. 🧠

Crumble Crisis has been rebalanced some more, making it less likely to be cheesed, once again! There is still some cheese strategies that we know of, but we'll be nerfing them further in a later update. πŸ§€

We've also added a fence around the ice sheet, to stop you from accidentally getting bounced into the water by our aggressive forcefields! πŸ˜…
