Greetings, everyone!
We have a big update for you today! Thanks to your feedback, we have added several quality of life improvements, such as a new option for killed enemies to drop loot on the ground instead of having to rummage through corpses' inventories, better balanced lighting and improvements to inventory management and UI readability, among many others. We have also squashed numerous pesky bugs and crashes, especially those related to the inventory system.
To celebrate this occasion, we have also put the game on a 20% discount as part of the
Fulqrum Publisher Sale - so if you want to treat yourself, or get an early Christmas present for a loved one, this is a great opportunity!
Before you jump off to browse those deals, or just skip down to the full list of changes and fixes at the end of this article, a few words from the developer himself:
"Thank you to everyone who has played HYPERVIOLENT so far. I really appreciate all of the feedback I’ve received. HYPERVIOLENT definitely does not play like most other games in the genre, and this may have taken some players by shock initially, but I am dedicated to ironing out the experience for players who appreciate the game’s slower, more nuanced take on the retro shooter genre."
- nfoPRINCEAs you can see, we are commited to keep working on the game and supporting it with further patches. If you find any bugs, technical issues or have any suggestions for how to improve the game, please, share them with us here in the comments, in the
Steam Discussions, or come to the
Fulqrum Publishing Discord server . And if you enjoy HYPERVIOLENT and want to support the game further, please, consider writing a positive review (recommendation) here on Steam - it really helps us and energizes us to keep the updates coming.
Full Change Log

New Features
- Added a floodlight to the Personal Transport Vessel, per player feedback.
- Added a quicker "Take All Items" button to the loot screen. This will indiscriminately take items and will not remove ammunition from weapons; the player can still choose to do that manually during looting or in their inventory.
- Added an option for "Auto-Drop Loot." This can be turned on or off at any time and causes enemies to drop their items on the ground at death. Drop rates are exactly the same. This removes the looting process but gives a more classic shooter feel.
- The generic cursor is now the default for UI instead of the red gloved hand.
Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed numerous crashes related to the inventory.
- Improved inventory alignment when placing and picking up items.
- It is now more obvious when the player is discarding an item from their inventory.
- Improved gamepad control for the inventory.
- Improved gamepad sensitivity; the player can now look around at a more reasonable speed.
- Fixed a crash that occurred if the player died while looting a corpse.
- Fixed issues with the player falling through the floor after leaving the Personal Transport Vessel.
- Fixed numerous broken achievements.
- Fixed slowdown related to blood splatters when striking enemies with projectile weapons.
- Fixed issues where the player could fall out of the Engineering Level during low gravity.
- Fixed an issue where the game did not auto-save after the Valentine Mech boss fight.
- Fixed an issue where the player would inadvertently use health items or grenades while looting (gamepad).
- Fixed the item duplication and item vanishing glitch near the edge of the inventory screen.
Balance Tweaks
- Rebalanced lighting for the entire game, removing total darkness. Even without the flashlight, the player now has some limited visibility.
- Improved font style for much of the UI to be more readable.
- Rebalanced the shotgun to make it more powerful.
- Rebalanced some enemy alert sounds.
- Rebalanced the HMG; it now fires faster.
- Improved overall game performance on most machines. (Laptops with external displays may still have slowdown issues; we are still working on this.)
- Rebalanced drop tables for loot again based on player feedback (more ammo, especially in later levels, and fewer health items).
