Today we want to highlight the advances of our talented group of artists and show what the different designs for Spanish soldiers would be.

The use of breastplates and heavy weaponry from Spanish NPC´s will be common in Mictlan, appealing to historical reliability, but also with elements of fantasy involved.

These heavier soldiers, easily identifiable by the use of breastplates, full armor and weapons such as maces, jaws and halberds, will represent a challenge to anyone who comes across them.

Our concept art team has recreated some of the weapons used by the first Spaniards to arrive in Mesoamerica.

In addition to weapons at close range, you will have to be especially careful with musket projectiles and crossbow bolts.

The Spaniards will be an enemy to fear in the open territories, and you will have to adapt your strategy to deal with the soldiers in the long distances.

Priests of the pre-Hispanic world

The priests of the pre-Hispanic world had a pretty hard life.

Penance, pain and sacrifice were part of their daily routine.

They were the ones who ripped off the hearts of the victims in services.
They were the ones who read the oracles to the Kings on the most important matters.
They anointed the Kings once they were elected.

The sacrifices made by the priests would feed the gods and ensure the continued existence of the world.

The high priest was always the second son of the King. These figures had a great reputation for their holiness and observed a rather rigid and austere conduct, from childhood.

Today we want to show you a set of designs of the indigenous weapons that have been recreated by our concept artists.

The many weapons that the indigenous people wielded needed to be mastered in order to be used to their full potential; which is why the younger people were trained in their use from a relatively early age.

The atlatl, the stone axes, the macuahuitl and the obsidian knives, are some of the weapons recorded by the chroniclers and researchers, who highlighted the remarkable characteristics of obsidian, deadly because of its sharpness and its splinters.

In Mictlan you will be able to find these weapons and master them, to open your way through the deep underworld while you face Spaniards, rival indigenous people and supernatural creatures of Mesoamerican mythology.
