RE:VIVE

So far, we've been creating the characters who will populate the world of Mictlan using the sketches and drawings of our talented concept art team, along with artificial intelligence to shape the faces of Mesoamerican people, obtaining amazing and realistic results.
But we want to step this process up.
As our world becomes more and more connected through technological advances, it's becoming increasingly easy to get in touch with other people and cultures in different countries. The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance, respect and valorization, understanding that each individual is unique.
We want to capture the beauty and uniqueness of indigenous people, that's why we're very proud to launch our ambitious project called RE:VIVE.
We're looking for photographers, directors and any other artist who would like to collaborate with us in order to give us the opportunity to create even more realistic characters, representing the Mexica civilizations as they properly deserve, through the use of photographs and 3d scanned photogrammetry rendering model.
It's not just about the game.
The heart of the entire development process of Mitclan lies on the celebration of indigenous cultures, by reviving thousand-years-old tales.
Our goal with the project RE:VIVE is to preserve the beauty, the uniqueness and the culture of a civilization while creating an image data bank for future generations to see.

Our Mictlan agents will do so much more than capturing images and video: they will help our community to create a powerful network of knowledge, beliefs, and people, under the Mictlan umbrella.

We will work with the utmost respect toward our subjects, their communities, cultures and traditions.
Our mission is to allow people from all over the world to get to know Mexican and Mesoamerican history, valuing our rich heritage, ancient culture, practices but, most of all, our people.

If anyone is interested in learning more about our RE:VIVE project, please contact us through one our official channels.

Mexica priests with... dreadlocks?

Mexica priests with... dreadlocks?

Yes, please.

Our team of history experts and archaeologists has dug out these images taken from numerous Mesoamerican codices, depicting Mexica priests (Tlamacazqui) with dreadlocks.

The Spanish friars who encountered them depicted the priests with knee-length hair, a trait commonly associated in popular culture with Rastafarian.

Yet in many other cultures, such as Mesoamerican, aboriginal and Indian, people used to wear this hairstyle, considered as a conduit with the divine and the ethereal.

Even though dreadlocks take different meanings in each culture, the underlining essence between them relates to resistance and questioning of social stratification.

It is truly a blessing for us to be able to work with a team of experts who are helping us to really bring the Mesoamerican spirit and culture to life and infuse our game with these elements.

Moreover, with these sources confirmed, rest assured that you're gonna see some badass priests with dreads in Mictlan!

An animated spin-off series

We have an idea which we would love to see come to life very soon.

We're planning to create an animated spin-off series related to the main storyline of Mictlan: An Ancient Mythical Tale.

These characters were designed by our talented concept art team members, along with locations, costumes and environments.

We plan to use the animated scenes, with 2D characters also in in-game loading scenes and... in other ways we cannot talk about just yet!

You will be able to see more of these animated spin-off scenes around the time when we'll launch our Kickstarter campaign.

About that, have you registered yet? That will only take a minute of your time but would mean the world to us, helping us reach our goal to launch the campaign!
