Some pictures from our 3D rendering process

Today we want to show you some pictures from the 3D rendering process behind the creation of our characters. This is a complex and very long process when creating 3D images, because it's the phase when the computer puts together all the data to generate the character that, later on, you’ll be controlling and interacting with when playing Mictlan.

It is fascinating thinking that, in reality, everything we see on the screen is actually a compound of ‘zeroes’ and ‘ones’. A series of numbers that, through the hard work of our designers and artists, take shape and transform into something almost tangible, allowing us to discover exciting new worlds.

Mictlan's animated spin-off series: sneak peek #3

Today we want to show you another sneak peek of the animated spin-off series related to the main storyline of Mictlan!

Little by little our project is coming to life. In this animated short, we will have the chance to tell stories from the ancient Aztec civilization in great detail.

Take a look at these two sneak peek we already shared, to have an idea of what we're working on!

Here you can see a picture of a temple where rituals took place and with a couple of shrines used to give offerings to the Gods and worship them.

Huitzilopochtli

Huitzilopochtli, the god of war and of the sun, representing the mythical battle of light against the darkness. A mighty and powerful god, whose strength derives from the vital force of those who sacrificed themselves to him, from the blood of the hearts that were offered to him.

Huitzilopochtli is the one who guided the long migration the Aztecs undertook from Aztlan, their traditional home, to the Valley of Mexico, where they founded the Great Tenochtitlan.

In these pictures, we want to show you one of the first versions of the Aztec god we created for Micltan. We took the liberty of mixing the historical codices with a fantasy look suitable to represent this powerful figure.

Although this is not the final version of the character, we wanted to present its render in real-time to give you an idea of our work.

We will present it to our community at the launch of our Kickstarter campaign.
But in order to launch the campaign, we need at least 20k people to register to the page. It literally takes a minute to do so, but it would mean the world to us.

The Franciscan Order

The Franciscan Order is one of the most widely known religious orders in the Catholic Church, founded in 1209 by Saint Francis of Assisi.

We have extensively talked about the Order and about one of its most famous members, Fray Bernandino de Sahagún, in this post, in which we presented you with the concept art pieces of our team.

Here are the results from concept art to 3D renders:
