Another chance to try Saltsea Chronicles!

We got such a lovely reaction to our Saltsea Chronicles demo reveal during Steam Next Fest that we've decided to share it again for another limited time in the run up to announcing our release date!

If you missed it the first time around, now's your chance to get a little taste of the game before it comes out late this year...

The demo features an excerpt from chapter 4 of the game and the island community of Los Gatos. Choose from three different expedition characters as you track down clues, and meet a wonderful cast of crew members and local folks. This is approximately 1/3 of the way through the game so we're definitely dropping you in a few days after the initial adventure begins, but there aren't any huge spoilers in this excerpt, and it's a great way to get a feel for how the game plays.

There's also Spoils - a trick taking card game unique to the world of Saltsea - to play. Although please do bear in mind that in the full game the tutorial is offered in several stages, not in the paper rulesheets as in the demo here.

You will also be able to watch a stream of Creative Director Hannah Nicklin and Deputy Story Lead Sharna Jackson as they give a behind-the-scenes commentary on the demo. See below for a little screencap from the demo...



Saltsea Chronicles is a story-driven adventure game set in a post-flood world where you guide a misfit crew in search of their missing captain. It will be released on PC (including Mac), PS5 and Nintendo Switch in 2023.

The investigation and the decisions you make will see you explore a series of beautiful and intriguing islands, meet different communities, and see the lives of people built on the ruins of what came before – all as you unravel the mystery at the heart of the game.
