New demo available NOW! - Steam Strategy Fest

Fellow Hogardians!

Cataclismo will participate at the upcoming Steam Strategy Fest (Aug 28 - Sept 4) featuring an updated demo!

But Horrors won't wait until Monday to destroy your walls, so the new demo is available RIGHT NOW.

Here’s a quick summary of what changed:

  • A brand new level for our seasoned players. It is meant to be a tougher challenge than anything you could find in the previous demo, and it allows you to explore a bigger, less restricted zone without tutorials nor tips to guide you through. This level lasts around 60 minutes depending on your skills.

  • Difficulty modes. Choose between three difficulty modes: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Each one changes the number of Horrors attacking you, how much health they and your units have, and the speed of resource gathering. We want all players to find their sweet spot and adapt the experience to whichever difficulty they feel comfortable with.

  • Skipping tutorials is now a thing. Many of you complained of Cataclismo being a tad too handholdy at times, and we listened. This new demo allows you to fully ignore tutorials or watch only the Cataclismo-specific ones – skipping those common to all RTS games.

  • Better visuals, UX, and performance. The overall experience is smoother thanks to improved graphics, UX, and performance. Cataclismo plays, looks, and runs better than ever before!

That’s it for this update – now we’re off to keep working on our upcoming Kickstarter. Now that you’ve casually mentioned it, remember you can hit the follow button on the pre-launch page to be among the first supporters of the campaign!

Cataclismo is coming to Kickstarter!

Hi!

It’s been a while since our last update, and we want to take this moment to share some great news with you: We’ll soon launch a Kickstarter campaign for Cataclismo!

Why Kickstarter? Because we’re friendly parting ways with Humble Bundle. Thus, after Moonlighter and The Mageseeker, this is the very first time we’ll self-publish one of our games.

But we still need you.

Without a publisher, we have two options: to release the game as it is or to keep improving it until it reaches our “high as a tower” quality standards. Of course, we bet on the second. This campaign will help us finish the game to meet our expectations and hopefully yours as well.

We have just published the Kickstarter page, so we encourage you to hit the “follow” button and share it with your friends.

Stay tuned for more info on dates, rewards, stretch goals, etc.!

Our Demo Will Remain Playable

Gather round, gather round. The Steam Next Fest is over, yet we hear rumbles of discontent.

"The Cataclismo demo! Oh no! I didn't get a chance to play it! What now?"

Well, rumble no more, wanderer. We are leaving the free demo up for the foreseeable future, which means you still have the chance to give it a go. Or, if you already played, to perfect that rickety old fortress of yours.

You can download the demo from the Store page now.

In the meantime, we're making great progress. Our team is hard at work, gathering thousands of tiny pale monsters from the Spanish countryside and squashing them into larger and ever more powerful computers. Wow! Technology is fantastic.

The swarm is gone. But don't worry. If you missed our livestream of Cataclismo, you can see it again. Through the magic of internet television, we are playing the footage on a loop! Incredible. Join Javi and Vicent as they construct a fortress and shoo away waves of horrors, while explaining some of the finer points of RTS gameplay and storytelling that await you in Cataclismo.

Don't forget, if you like what you see, you too can download the demo and build your own castle!
