Patch #1 - Sandbox Mode & Building Contest!

Fellow Hogardians!

These past few days have been truly unforgettable, especially when it comes to community reception. Not only do we have +700 reviews and a 94% positive ratio, but we also have a super involved fanbase sharing invaluable suggestions on Steam and Discord.

Now it’s high time to return the love.

As a token of appreciation, we’re adding a Sandbox Mode in our very first patch!

[h2]Introducing the Sandbox Mode![/h2]

Cataclismo's Sandbox Mode is the ultimate building tool for Hogardians. Get access to unlimited resources to design every bit of your stronghold as you see fit. Once your fort is ready, add as many units and horrors as you please to test your tactics in a safe space.

This is especially useful for those craving a proper place to create blueprints. Also for players asking for a more relaxed building environment. Many used the campaign levels and skirmishes, dealing with limited materials and horrors’ ceaseless attacks. 



We’ve listened (we always do!) and Sandbox Mode is the result. Enjoy the most faithful expression of Cataclismo’s endless creativity...

Hotfix #2 (Military Count Exploit, Bug Fixing, Miscellaneous)

Fellow Hogardians!

It’s been three days since the Early Access launched, and we’ve been carefully reading your feedback from the reviews and our Discord.

As a result, we’ve deployed a new hotfix, including:

[h2]Military Count Exploit[/h2]

  • Fixed an exploit that allowed you to reduce your military count by having units being produced in your barracks while you leave the scenario.

[h2]Bug Fixing[/h2]

  • Fix for procedural scenarios to avoid horrors getting stuck under very specific circumstances.
  • Fixed an error causing spawner locations in Level Editor to corrupt some scenarios after leaving them.

[h2]Miscellaneous[/h2]

  • Added folder location when the disk space popup appears to avoid players misunderstanding where they need to free up space.
  • Fixed FMOD audio initialization causing some game startup exceptions.

Hotfix #1 (Level Editor Fixes, Miscellaneous Fixes)

First hotfix! We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from the Steam reviews, forums, and our Discord, and we’re already putting it to good use with the following changes:

[h2]Bug Fixing[/h2]

  • Fixed waves not working as expected in the Skirmish maps of the Level Editor.
  • Progress serialization issues fixed in custom Endless maps, causing unlocks and points not to save properly.

These are major fixes for those of you who are eager to create and upload your maps with the Level Editor. Now there’s nothing stopping you from sharing your Skirmish and Endless creations!

[h2]Miscellaneous[/h2]

  • Campaign levels 6 and 7 were modified in order to better reflect real progression.

New RTS Cataclismo fuses physics and strategy, and it's out now

There's nothing like the joy of creation, and the flood of pain when that's taken away. You can spend hours on a Minecraft build only for your friends to rig it with TNT and pressure plates, and while this was painful at the time, these are the memories I treasure most. You look back on these hardships with glee, and it's something this brand-new physics-based strategy game perfectly understands. Inspired by RTS royalty Warcraft 3 and the thrill of building with Lego, this is Cataclismo, and it's out now.

After Moonlighter and The Mageseeker, we’re stoked to finally share our next game with the world. As we get closer to the later stages of development, directly involving our community to help us fine-tune has invaluable potential.

We hope you enjoy discovering all that Cataclismo has to offer during the Early Access, featuring:
  • The fully-voiced campaign, which initially features a tutorial and eleven levels, spread across two distinct biomes. More levels will be added on the road to 1.0.
  • A Skirmish Mode with two different levels and biomes.
  • An Endless Mode with procedurally generated maps and challenge in mind.
  • A comprehensive Level Editor for you to create your own maps using the two main biomes.
  • Full Steam Workshop compatibility for you to share your maps and blueprints, as well as dowloading others' creations.

Over the course of Early Access, more biomes, features, and modes will be added, including additional content for the Endless game mode and new levels for the main campaign. Even though it’s too early to say when our 1.0 launch will happen, we expect to be in Early Access at least through the first months of 2025.

Player input will be a pivotal part of our game, and the best way to give us feedback, share ideas, and report bugs is through our official Discord server and Steam forums. Join the devs there and chat with fellow Hogardians about all things Cataclismo! Please also share your thoughts about Cataclismo in a Steam review too.
