Last big early access update

Last big update for Early Access, with several fixes and many changes.

It is important to clarify that by saying that I will close early access, it does not mean that the game will not receive more updates or corrections, on the contrary, it means that we have reached the first finished version. It is important to close this stage, in order to continue advancing, otherwise the game will remain in an eternal incomplete early access. Can it be improved even after early access? It's the idea!

Once published, the updates will follow with improvements at the simulation and gameplay level, many of which are currently awaiting the closure of early access and the stabilization of the final version.

Modifications of the current update:

  • Complete modification of the visual design of the plant: thanks to Creepy Cat who allowed me to use his level kit. Now the corridors and the main rooms have a more neat design, optimized and with a certain futuristic aspect, without being something exaggerated. The core and turbine buildings remain the same, since they are of a different type.

  • Redesign of the dynamic lighting system: there are now two modes, one is with fixed ambient lighting (on by default) where the game loses a little granular control of the lights, but gains a lot in graphical quality and performance. The second mode is with dynamic lights enabled (it was the original way the game worked, the one everyone who played it already knows). The lights are individual, but the performance drops a lot in low-performance equipment.

  • Elimination of the external environment: there are no more windows and for now it is not possible to go outside. It's a change I resisted for a long time, but never quite got it to work. At heart, the game is a nuclear reactor simulator, the outdoor environment is decorated. In some update I will add the possibility to leave the plant again, but not for now. The performance improvement from making this change is very noticeable.

Please, leave your opinions on the redesign in the comments!

And if the improvement in performance is really noticeable or not.

Patch notes: B 0.2.04.013

The following bugs were fixed:

  • Fixed the bug of accelerated fuel consumption of the genset when being recharged.

  • Fixed the bug that showed some controls in the control room as being on even though there was a general blackout.

  • Fixed the error of the "Charging batteries" indicator, which would light up even if there was not enough power to charge the emergency batteries.

  • Fixed the bug in the dust effect when the reactor core explodes.

  • Fixed the error in some dynamic lights when turned on (they caused the game to crash).

Patch notes: B 0.2.04.012

The following bugs were fixed:

  • Fixed the error in the video surveillance system when the simulated water graphic option is activated.

  • Made various improvements and fixes to AO routines.

  • Fixed the error when loading fuel in the generator set.

Patch notes: B 0.2.04.011

The following bugs were fixed:

  • Fixed the error at the end of the emergency stop.

  • Fixed AO error in the help for "Extract the Control Rods until the reaction starts".

  • Fixed bug when transporting fuel from depot to reactor core.

  • Made various improvements and fixes to AO routines to prevent bugs in certain circumstances.

The following items are added enhancements:

  • Removed the main tray plates from the control room controls, giving it a polished look and maintaining a sense of continuity between all controls.

  • The operation of the video surveillance system was modified. Enabling the surveillance camera should now not affect performance as much as before (camera framerate adjusts to game performance level).

  • Removed unnecessary files to reduce the size of the game installation.

Patch notes: B 0.2.04.010

The following bugs were fixed:

Important: Previous savegames are not compatible with this update.

  • Fixed the bug in the Pressurizer that caused the game to crash.

  • Fixed the bug where a battery was in player hand when loading a saved progress.

  • Fixed an error in the coolant leak animation of the primary circuit tubes.

The following items are added enhancements:

  • Added a panel with surveillance cameras, to be able to observe other areas without leaving the control room (it is very demanding of resources if activated).

  • Added the missing alarms, related to the Pressurizer: high temperature, high pressure, and low integrity.

  • Improved the light, intensity, and heat effect of the Pressurizer heaters.

  • An automatic error analysis and reporting system was added, which will allow me to know the stabilization level of the game (It only works if the game is running, and if there is Internet. It can be disabled from the game options).
