Blacksmith Legends: Prologue now released!

Dear blacksmiths,

I am now proud to announce that Prologue is officially released in the store. It's pretty much a longer version than demo and contains bit more content, but more importantly, user's can now write reviews. Based on these reviews a lot of things will be decided in the future.

So please, take a moment of your time and write a review about your thoughts of playing this game! I'll be very thankful.

As a tribute to Dan Fields, who liked my game and helped me spread it over his YT channel, I've created in-game flag with his logo theme.

This flag will be also applied to all mining carts in world map. Didn't have time to create also banners for walls, but it's on my to-do list!

As you know that I'm doing a lot of community work, feel free to let me know, what would you love to have in-game! :)

As this is the last free content release from my side, I'm now focused on the EA release that will hopefully be ready in few months.

The Armory is getting re-worked and I'm quite happy with the results, where you will be able to see what you equipped on the gladiator.


The combat on the other hand is the biggest challenge. As it should be as smooth as possible, I don't want any overlaps of cloth or lazy animations.
As this project is becoming too big for myself, I'll be looking for a small team if possible, that can help me with a lot of stuff, since micromanaging everything is really time consuming and creates a lot of delay! :)


Needless to say, very much enjoy your support, couldn't have more lovely community of players that are also extremely helpful and patient!

Blacksmith Legends: Prologue release announcement

Hello dear blacksmiths,

I'm going to announce, that Prologue will be released on 7th July, so not even in 2 weeks!
Game is in quite decent shape and currently being polished by few people.
If you want to participate in beta testing Prologue to catch all the bugs, ideally in other languages, hit me on discord and I'll be glad to include you in our small testing team!

Based on the feedback from festival and preparations for Early Access, I've done some changes to the game.

1. Building system - floors are not clunky anymore. I've re-done the whole system and instead of attaching one socket to another, they are now separate ones on the ground, making the hit box much better to proc. And I think overall, it's much more user friendly.


2. Crafting menu re-work - this is a huge change, as there are no more Recipe SLOTS for each character! Before, you had to assign each recipe to a certain amount of slots. That allowed me a better control and unique build for each employee.
But in the end, it ended up being annoying as during demand requests for crafting items, the Right-Click removal of recipes was a bit clunky and later on, swapping recipes ended up feeling weird and useless for a lot of players, so I've decided to make all recipes accessible.

You can craft anything from one screen. Plus, adjust working hours and see Demand right below, so you don't have to swap between Sales menu on what to sell!

3. Crafting overall received a few changes too:
- Morale deteriorates over time now and refreshes when going home
- Crafting speed and quality are now more variable during crafting
- Low morale causes failures that result in a penalty of lower quality

Added more weekly plans too, so player can balance out his way of crafting. Some can be free and some may not. Some can grant you only buffs, some can come at a price of other stat to balance it out.


4. Arena armory preparation - can't forge to prepare for Early Access too. Currently working on the armory, where player will be able to equip his gladiator with items of his choice.

Festival Live Stream

Greetings to all blacksmiths out there,


(reposting this announcement, as yesterday's Steam schedule got a bit messed up)
I'm just announcing that my stream will be going live during the Steam Next Festival. I'll also do a video about it, but it's good to know what to expect:

1. We'll talk about my last version of the game and Prologue situation
2. Demo gameplay explained, including all mechanics
3. Roadmap discussion about that is in the works and how much I've achieved so far

It's a lot to discuss, so I'll rather talk about it and then post it here for those who will miss it.

If you're interested in hearing more about the current state of the game and all the future progress and path, be sure to set a reminder for when the stream will go live!

I'll also be sharing new demo update soon, as I have version ready, just want to get some sleep and prepare it so there are no more surprising bugs.

Demo/Prologue update 0.4.4

Hello dear blacksmiths,

after some recent feedback from players I've decided to post update of the demo mainly, so that players have clean version ready during the festival.

List of changes:

Languages

- fixed French, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Slovak language missing texts
- fixed some discrepancies and missing text in German and Russian language

Bug Fixes

- Tier 2 recipes should now properly display in T2 slots on every language
- Achievement for completing 20 quests should now properly work (Prologue)
- fixed a bug with being stuck on 0 customers at all time
- Painting No.2 should no longer cull walls
- when joining bandits, Bandit Camp is no longer able to be attacked (Prologue)
- destroying Bandit Camp should now always grant Fire Ring recipe (Prologue)
- finishing Prologue: Good part will now grant Angelic Rod outdoor item (Prologue)
- guiding cubes when placing floor now properly cull when on the unlocked land
- moving Blacksmith while Anvil is still placed should no longer be possible
