To the Crown Mages,

The latest update for Astatos is here! This update includes Regulus’ new skin, along with new game improvements and a development update.



This past month we’ve been working on upcoming content! For Cascade Trial, we’ve been building interface and progression gameplay systems— including implementing real-time 2D animation for the campaign selection menu. With luck, we will be able to release a base version of this game mode in the coming months!

We have also been working on story content for Chapter II— including scenario writing, editing, and translation. We completed another 20k words of scenario script and are nearing completion of the chapter!

Next month we hope to be able to complete the scenario and make progress on the Interlude scenes for Chapter II as well as additional CG.

• Various user interfaces have been redesigned— including the main menu, notices, and information windows. These designs should more closely resemble that of the shop menu and other recently added menus. Further refinements are planned in future patches!
  
• The design of Hero Ability Descriptions have been made easier to read.
• A new Hero Skin has been made available as the monthly reward. The previous month’s Hero Skin has been added to the in-game store.

Happy Lunar New Year from Studio Klondike! This month we’ve prepared a special Hero Skin in celebration of the Year of the Snake, featuring Alkaios. We wish all our Crown Mages a lucky 2025!



New artwork for Cascade Trials. Above is a sneak peek at the background artwork for the Hero select screen for Cascade Trial, with other elements being worked on this past month.

Story and artwork production for Chapter II continues! We’re closing in on preparing the final sections of the next Chapter, including story writing, cutscene scripting, and CGs being worked on.

Chapter II development continues! With new artwork and story scenes being worked on. As of this month the final background assets have been completed for the upcoming Chapter II.

We also have made progress on artwork and gameplay systems for Cascade Trial. We’ve been working on implementing more event and gameplay systems.

• Season IX of the Takeover Trial leaderboard has concluded. The top 100 players will receive a new player title sometime after the release of this patch.
  
• Additionally, the timing between Takeover Trial Seasons in 2025 has been increased from 3 months to 4 months.
  
• A new Hero Skin has been made available as the monthly reward. The previous month’s Hero Skin has been added to the in-game store.

• The splash screen video playback has been optimised to resolve an issue where it failed to display on some computers running Windows 11.
