Welcome to Spring, well, nearly spring, just a week of winter left.

While we enjoy the last few days of snow and ice, we are excited to share that a preview of Patch 3.1: Quality of Life is live right now on the PBE (PC only).

Meet your newest little neighbor!

[h2]New Repairable Structures[/h2]
Your neighbors around Sun Haven have been so caught up in their own adventures that sometimes repairs fall to the wayside. With this update, you will see structures, new and old, around Sun Haven that need help being fixed up.

Some of these have special storylines and history, so take a moment to help out around town, be a good neighbor, and earn some extra community tokens!

Now I can craft something yummy!

[h2]Recipe Pop-Up[/h2]

As you adventure, you may have noticed new recipes appearing in your crafting tables, without a clue as to when you unlocked them. With the new Recipe Pop-Up notification, every few level ups and every quest completion, every time a new recipe unlocks, you will be alerted to it!

Frames so smooth, you might call them polished!

[h2]Optimizations and Bug Fixes[/h2]
We spent the past months dedicated to further polishing Sun Haven. So, we focused on behind-the-scenes adjustments to make Sun Haven’s performance feel smoother. A larger optimization we are making specifically affects areas with high foliage density, like Nel’Vari, which we hope will prevent lag on most systems. Additionally, crashes after extended play should occur less frequently; our goal is for crashes never to occur, so we hope these optimizations help make that goal a reality for all players. This is all part of our efforts to improve the experience for players on lower spec computers, Nintendo Switch, and eventually make the big port onto Xbox and PlayStation as smooth as possible.

Along with optimizing maps further, we read every single bug report and did our best to fix many of the critical issues you all have reported. This includes missing localization, adjustments to controller support to make tools react more consistently, adding missing romance items to shops, and much more.

There will be bugs; that is the nature of game dev, but we will continue to do our best to efficiently fix and support player-reported issues. We thank you for your support which help make Sun Haven a better game.

[h2]Team Credits[/h2]
Since our 1.0 release, Sun Haven is in the best place it has ever been. Work we are proud to put our name on.

Coming in Sun Haven Patch 3.1 will be team credits. These credits will be on the main menu, listing out those who contributed to this project and helped bring our story to life. Our priority has been to make Sun Haven the best it can be for players. Sun Haven is our first game, so there have been a ton of bugs and improvements that players requested and that we have wanted to fix. We want to take this moment to send a big thank you to everyone who helped work on Sun Haven. We did an amazing job, and Sun Haven is in the most bug-free, stable spot it's ever been!

Fixing relationships or fixing your town, that's Sun Haven for you!

We know this patch doesn’t include as much new content as previous patches, but our goal for this patch was to optimize, polish, and make Sun Haven feel better than ever before. This work is incredibly important for us to be able to bring Sun Haven to other platforms soon! We just released a micropatch that is live now on Steam for Windows, Steam Deck, and Mac! This micropatch includes some updates and bug fixes for:

• Fixed an issue causing the cutscenes during the quests “Bernard's Treasure” and “Back to the Bazaar” not to load while playing in non-English languages
  
• Fixed an issue causing the quest “More Anomalies!” to incorrectly identify all items as anomalies
  
• Fixed an issue causing the Grilled Archerfish recipe to be missing its correct ingredients
  
• Fixed an issue causing the new Great City fence recipes to not appear on the Basic Furniture Crafting Table
  
• Fixed Various Typos

We just released a micropatch that is live now on Steam for Windows, Steam Deck, and Mac! This micropatch includes some updates and bug fixes for:

• Attempted a fix where all saves in the Load Character menu always appeared in the Spring season
  
• Fixed an issue causing Elyssia's Timeless Styles and Thorian's Historical Collection DLC packs not to be delivered in the mail
  
• Fixed an issue causing Elyssia's Timeless Styles and Thorian's Historical Collection DLC packs to display missing or wrong prices on the in-game DLC store (prices were correct at checkout on Steam)
  
• Fixed Catherine's Halloween portrait to remove her human ears
  
• Fixed an issue with the Artistic Kotatsu colliders that allowed you to walk through it

Known Bugs:
We are aware of a bug causing languages, other than English, to blackscreen on the quest “Bernard’s Treasure” during the Great City storyline. We are working on a fix for this bug immediately and expect to have a micropatch for you all very soon. As a temporary fix for this bug, changing your in-game language to English for this quest allows the cutscene to complete as intended.

[h2]Misc:[/h2]

• Adjusted fainting and passing out to no longer cost money when passing out inside your home only. If you pass out on your farm or anywhere else in the world, you will once again be charged a medical rescue fee

• Fixed an issue causing NPCs not to load when starting a cutscene, resulting in the game freezing
  
• Bunny Wallpaper Recipe will now output Bunny Wallpaper and not Blue Striped Wallpaper

The Elyssia's Timeless Styles Pack includes 10 furniture items, 43 clothing items, 6 wigs, 1 plushie, and 1 pet. Have you ever wanted to live just like your favorite Chrono Mage, Elyssia? Then this is the pack for you!

The Thorian's Historical Collection Pack includes 12 furniture items, 28 clothing items, 4 wigs, 1 plushie, and 1 pet. Have you ever wanted to live just like your favorite Professor, Thorian? Then this is the pack for you!

The Gearwork Glamour Pack includes 10 furniture items, 25 clothing items, 1 mount, and 2 pets. If you want to live in a futuristic steampunk world, then this is the pack for you!

This is one of our largest patches ever; the team has been working on it for multiple years behind the scenes, Sun Haven 3.0: The Great City the second-largest storyline in the entire game, and adding a new region is no small task! Looking forward, with the addition of the Great City, this is likely our last new region coming to Sun Haven as one of the last major updates for Sun Haven.

Our focus right now is on keeping Sun Haven as stable as possible as we aim to port Sun Haven to more consoles, including Xbox and PlayStation, and bring this patch to Nintendo Switch! Don’t worry, adventurers, there is still more coming for our beloved game, but you can expect a bit smaller content patches moving forward.

Without further ado, let’s jump into a peek at Patch 3.0: The Great City!

New region, new story, new fashion, new MOUNTS!

[h2]The Great City[/h2]
The Great City is filled with elites, machines, and most of all, magic! It is the crown jewel of the continent and a major port of commerce for the region. After all, they are also the ones so interested in buying everything you throw into your selling portal!

Not long after your move to Sun Haven, a string of robberies began causing massive panic in the Great City. All of their magical artifacts that kept the city running began going missing!

With the help of the young Time Mage, Detective Elyssia, and with the prestigious Historian, Professor Thorian, you can put a stop to these robberies!

Adventure through the three Districts of the Great City, meeting new faces, trying new foods, riding the most classic and sharpest mounts around, shopping for the exclusive decor, decorating your very own Inn room, and more!

This additional storyline is the second longest in Sun Haven, and we hope you enjoy being the (second) best detective in the entire Great City.

Once the crime spree riddling the Great City is solved, Elyssia and Thorian, your trusty informants on the case, may be interested in more than just a professional relationship.

Hello Elyssia, have any good leads today?

Meet Elyssia, she is nicknamed “The Chrono Mage” as one of the only mages able to use a rare form of magic, Time Magic. After much training by the Order of Mages, she uses her abilities to help solve crimes and mysteries that come to cause problems for the Great City. However, Elyssia’s very own past remains lost to time itself. Can you help her find herself and the mysteries the past holds?

Good Morning, Professor Thorian!

Meet Thorian, one of the oldest members of the Order of Curators. He dedicated his life to the study of ancient artifacts. This passion has earned him the prestigious title of “Professor Thorian”. Yet something isn’t quite right about those tired eyes, furrowed brows, and amazing mustache. What more is there to learn about this distinguished gentleman, and are you interested in a lesson?

So take some time to get to know your new acquaintances, who knows what secrets they hold!
