May came and went faster than usual, it seems. The weather is getting warmer, summer break is upon us, and we know that everyone has been eager for some new content. In other words, it’s the perfect time to release an update!

Sun Haven Patch 1.4: New Region, Kids, Romance Update, and the Black Market launches today, and it’s packed to the brim with a brand new region to explore, tons of new features, 9 new DLC packs, and a bunch of fixes. Oh, and there is also full controller support for PCs and Steam Decks now. And did we mention translations for Windows, Mac, and Switch once Sun Haven’s Nintendo Switch port is complete?

Yeah. This patch is huge.

If you didn’t get the chance to read through our Devblog, we also have news about Sun Haven’s Switch release! Patch 1.4 is the final patch filled with major features that will be released before the Nintendo Switch port releases. This means that no major content will be added to Sun Haven after Patch 1.4 until Sun Haven is released on the Switch!

We’ll still be working on Sun Haven updates in the meantime though, so after Sun Haven is on the Switch, we have another big expansion planned! Keep an eye out for more information from us!

We are excited to announce that 9 new DLC packs will be available on Steam alongside Patch 1.4!

The Pop Sensation Pack includes:
37 idol Clothing Items, 8 idol Wigs, 16 idol Furniture Items, 1 idol Mount, and 1 idol Pet. Calling all stans and fans! If you want to be a rising star in the world of pop, then this is the pack for you! The Pop Sensation Pack has 63 stylish outfits and luxury furniture items for you and all of your friends to dress and decorate just like the idols you always knew you were.

The Starlight Pack includes:
32 starry Clothing Items, 7 starry Wigs, 10 starry Furniture Items, 1 starry Mount, and 2 starry Pets. If you’ve dreamed of being a guardian of the stars, then look no further! The Starlight Pack has an incredible collection of 52 starry-themed items that will make your farm look and feel magical!

The Toy Pack includes:
18 toy Clothing Items, 2 toy Wigs, 13 toy Furniture Items, 1 toy Mount, and 1 toy Pet. If you’re looking for a set full of childlike wonder, then this is the pack for you! The Toy Pack is filled with 35 trinkets and treasures that will turn your house into the playroom of your dreams.

The Snow Day Pack includes:
26 wintery Clothing Items, 2 wintery Wigs, 8 wintery Furniture Items, 1 wintery Mount, and 1 wintery Pet. It might be cold outside, but this set will be sure to warm your heart! The Snow Day Pack has 38 winter-themed items that will make your farm feel like a true winter wonderland.

The Sugar Rush Pack includes:
6 sugary Clothing Items, 3 sugary Wigs, 1 sugary Mount, and 1 sugary Pet. The Sugar Rush Pack has the cutest collection of 11 candy-themed items that are so sweet, you could just eat them up! Watch out for cavities!

The Deep Sea Pack includes:
10 underwater Clothing Items, 1 underwater Wig, 10 underwater Furniture Items, 1 underwater Mount, and 1 underwater Pet. Get your life vests on, it’s time to dive into the Deep Sea Pack! This pack is overflowing with 23 underwater-themed items that can turn any farm into an ocean-lover's paradise.

The Celestial Pack includes:
10 astral Clothing Items, 4 astral Wigs, 10 astral Furniture Items, 1 astral Mount, and 1 astral Pet. Space lovers unite! This Celestial Pack is full of 26 star-themed items that will transform your farm into an outerspace wonderland.

The Bloom and Doom Pack includes:
33 insect-themed Clothing Items, 9 insect-themed Furniture Items, 1 insect-themed Mount, and 2 insect-themed Pets. Get your bug nets ready! The Bloom and Doom Pack has 45 creepy crawly-themed items that will add the perfect jungle flair to any farm.

The Claws and Paws Pack includes:
35 pet Clothing Items, 13 pet Furniture Items, 1 pet Mount, and 1 Pet. Meow! The Claws and Paws Pack is full of 50 feline and canine-themed items that are sure to make any farm a pet lover’s dream.

• Fixed an issue that was causing your spouse’s room to not appear when first entering your Tier 3 house

Patch 1.4 will be released once it’s stabilized on the PBE and we’re able to make this massive update as bug-free as possible.

Now let’s jump into all the new content for Patch 1.4!

A brand new town awaits you from down in the Brinestone Deeps!

[h3]Brinestone Deeps:[/h3]
As seen in our Discord and Twitter teasers, there’s an entire new region to explore with two new Romanceables in Patch 1.4!

A mysterious whirlpool has formed in the ocean down near the beach on your farm. Diving into the whirlpool will take you to the new region - a sprawling underwater world inhabited by nautical denizens and giant, lurking beasts.

If you’re brave enough to traverse the wilderness, you’ll eventually find your way to a sunken city - the Brinestone Deeps, a town in the midst of a takeover by an eerie and malevolent adversary.

Embark on a brand new adventure to save the Brinestone Deeps, culminating in a battle against this imposing enemy. You’ll meet some new friends along the way, and make a few very important (and very powerful) enemies! As you fight to save the Brinestone Deeps, you’ll be able to access a new Bulletin Board with new Bulletin Board quests, and visit some of the amazing Brinestone shops - including a new general store, a magic staff shop selling weapons for mages, and a magic armor shop to buff up your stats!

Last but definitely not least, after completing the Brinestone Deeps quest line, you will unlock the brand new romanceable characters: Karish and Zaria.

Awww, what a cute baby!!

[h3]Kids:[/h3]
Coming in Patch 1.4 is one of the most requested features from the community: Kids! Once you’re married and have your house upgraded to Tier 3, your spouse can express their interest in having a child. (This is completely optional, and you can say no!)

If you say yes, head to the Wishing Well in Sun Haven’s Eastern Wilderness to make the wish come true. The following day, a brand new room will appear in your Tier 3 home with a teeny-tiny new occupant. You will need to nurture and take care of your baby to help it grow into a toddler.

As a toddler, they can explore Sun Haven, have quests, ask you to bring them certain items, hang out with the neighboring children, and even listen to Jun’s stories at the library! Toddlers are highly customizable, so you can give them adorable new outfits and customization options to help them fit right into your family. If you welcome the chaos, we’ve also decided to leave all customization options unlocked, just in case you want a half-naga, half-demon baby. Who are we to deny you of your cursed child dreams?!

A new currency, secret shops, and new fish to catch in the sewers!

[h3]The Black Market:[/h3]
The sewer’s manhole cover to the right of the Sun Haven Cafe is now open and leads to the grungy Sun Haven sewers! Once inside, you can catch sewer-specific fish to make a profit. If you continue forward, you will find the secret Sun Haven Black Market!

Here you can buy and sell certain items for a unique currency called Black Bottle Caps. These Black Bottle Caps can be used to purchase furniture, clothing, and even rare eggs that hatch into different pets! There’s also a merchant who will offer to exchange your mana for health or your health for mana, which means all of you min-maxers out there can finally reach the full mana build of your dreams!

The new romanceables are here: Karish the Shark Amari, and Zaria the Water Elemental!

[h3]Romance:[/h3]
There are two new Romanceables joining the large cast of Sun Haven in Patch 1.4!

• Karish, the Aspiring Hero - A Shark Amari who looks for the best in this harsh world, Karish aspires to be the hero the Brinestone Deeps needs. Can this over-eager hero in training learn to temper expectations and help his community in ways that really matter?
  
• Zaria, the Redwash Mercenary - A Water Elemental known beneath the waves for her cutthroat attitude, Zaria has learned that loyalty is best sold for cash and friendship is a fool's dream. But does she truly feel that way, or is there something this ruthless corsair is trying to hide?
  

These new characters have dates, events, bulletin board quests, and tons of new dialogue for you to experience!

These two new romanceable characters aren’t all we have in store! We’ve also updated many aspects of romance in Sun Haven, starting with being able to sleep in the same bed as your spouse! Once your spouse moves into your Tier 3 house, you now have the option to sleep in your spouse’s bed. You can also share a special kiss with your partner in new goodnight kiss cutscenes before turning in for the day. How sweet!

There are also new seasonal walk path animations for all romanceable characters that will breathe life into the world of Sun Haven. Some of these animations include Claude playing the piano, Lucia sitting at her desk signing papers, Anne polishing a diamond, and more! These animations aren’t just seasonal - they also add ways for you to connect with the traits, hobbies, and magic of the Romanceables in Sun Haven.

Romanceable characters will now have positive and negative reactions when you accept or decline hangout and date requests! Additionally, spouses now have unique vows and more dialogue during your wedding, as well as rejection responses if you decide to say no to getting married at the altar. (You monsters!)

[h3]Miscellaneous Updates:[/h3]

• Added the Great Vault! Gone are the days of running out of or misplacing DLC items, because now you can literally jump right into your Sell Portal and be whisked away to the Great Vault, the jewel of the Great City! Here, you can also browse all of the DLCs in Sun Haven, buy extra DLC pack items for gold, and get taken directly to the DLC Steam Store pages to browse the full selection of DLC packs available.
  
  
• Added Trash Cans and Destructibles. There are now interactable trash cans around Sun Haven, Nel’Vari, and Withergate. Be careful not to get caught digging through the trash, though… unless you don’t mind hearing rumors about your stinky behavior. Additionally, there are new crates and barrels around all 4 towns (Hehe, you read that right! FOUR towns now!) that can be hit with your sword or scythe. Once broken, they can drop materials and other items!
  
  
• Added Riddle Quests. Discover new puzzles and riddles that have been hidden around the world! These new riddles offer exclusive rewards, so keep your eyes peeled for these secret quests.
  
  
• Various bug fixes.We’ve fixed tons of bugs and other issues, including: automatic collectors, automatic feeders, and feeding stations not working as intended, Shang’s first date causing you to get accidentally murdered by enemies, removed the Farmer Table’s spooky ghost animation issue, quest items not being given, Snaccoons going missing, miscellaneous typos, crafting issues with health, mana, and fish, and more!

[h3]New Romanceable Characters[/h3]
The three new romanceables are finally here! You will have the option to romance and marry two brand new characters, as well as another that you may have met already...

• Shang, the Righteous Swordsman - Coming to Sun Haven with a mysterious mission, Shang spares words and forms bonds very carefully. Living under a personal code of strict honor, this swordsman may find himself forced to make a decisive choice in the fate of his future.
  
• Miyeon, the Timid Angel - A new arrival in Sun Haven, Miyeon has moved to town with her accomplished parents. Living under the pressures of perfection, the anxious angel has quite the journey to spread her wings and fly.
  
• Lucius, the Moon Attendant - The Attendants to the Moon are a special caste of Nel’Varians that exist outside the village’s normal livelihood. The Moon Elf Lucius has learned not to expect the companionship of outsiders, though this isn’t to say he isn’t hopeful…
  

Each new Romanceable has their own unique dates, cutscenes, dialogue, keepsakes, and wedding rings! These characters also have certain unlock requirements. Be sure to talk to other NPCs and continue through the main quests to meet these amazing new characters!
To unlock Shang, you’ll need to be on Day 8 or later, complete Peter’s A Special “Fish” quest, and then enter your farm to receive a quest that will lead you to Shang.
To unlock Miyeon, you’ll need to be on Day 11 or later, complete Solon’s Plan in Action quest, then enter the Town Hall to meet Miyeon.
To unlock Lucius, you’ll need to progress the main story and travel to Nel’Vari. His home can be found next to the Grand Tree.

For those of you who are achievement hunters, these new romanceables also bring new Steam Achievements!

Now the seasons feel even more alive!

Farm Buildings
Who doesn’t love an organized farm? We’re excited to share that Patch 1.3 has over 10 brand-new Farm Structures, Buildings, and Crafting Stations. These structures can be used to help you process materials, store crafting stations, grow crops, or simply to help decorate your farm. These buildings include seasonal Greenhouses, Silos, Chicken Coops, Butterfly Gardens, Workshops, Ticket Counterfeiters, Mana Siphoners, and even Glorite Siphoners!

The seasonal Greenhouses can be used to plant crops from their respective seasons! You can have one of each season, and it even comes with its own built-in waterfall and farm area. The new Chicken Coop and Nel’Vari Butterfly Garden are mini barns that not only look beautiful, but they also increase your animal limit and can be used to house Chickens and Silk Moths inside. The new crafting tables are for all you troublemakers out there who have to resort to your own underhanded devices to create your own Tickets, Mana, and Glorite against the usual forest gathering method. These crafting tables are simple and don’t take many resources to gain extra currency!

We’ve also added 12 new Shed Skins to help you theme and decorate your farm just how you like it! Some of our favorites include the Beehive Shed, the Mushroom Shed, the Ghost Shed, the Pumpkin Shed, and the Cake Shed. Sheds now also have Night Lighting to brighten up your farm area in the evenings! Additionally, thanks to player feedback, we’ve increased the Shed limit from 4 total Sheds to 12 total Sheds. Now you can make even more creative farm layouts!

Speaking of building decorations, we’ve also added over 30 new House Customization Set options, which means you can mix and match hundreds of new combinations! Some of our favorites include the Cottage Core set, the Charming set, the Castle set, and the Log Cabin set. We can’t wait to see all of your new creations!

[h3]Player Birthdays:[/h3]
Birthday parties and gifts? Yes please! You can now choose a birthday when creating a new character, or if you’re playing on an older save, you can change your birthday once at the Town Hall. On the morning of your chosen birthday, you’ll be visited by Ronald, the Sun Haven Tavern’s Barkeep. He’ll ask you to swing by the Tavern that day - if you decide to go, you’ll be able to celebrate your birthday surrounded by your friends and other invited guests.

Don’t forget to empty your inventory before you go! The more romanceable characters you befriend, the more people you’ll have at your party - which means you’ll get even more unique gifts at the end of your birthday celebration!

Cake, gifts, and a piñata? This is the best birthday ever!!

6 New DLC Packs:
We are excited to announce 6 new DLC packs will be available on Steam very soon!

Some of these packs are even larger than the ones we released last patch, so get ready for some amazing items! Let’s take a look:

The Trick or Treat Pack contains over 35 items, including a furniture set, 10 new outfits, 1 mount, and 1 pet. This spooky-themed pack will give you a cozy fall feeling year-round. Ride around on a ghost, have a mini ghost companion follow you around, and decorate your farm to look scary good!

The Spirit Petal Pack contains over 30 items, including a furniture set, 8 new outfits, 1 mount, and 1 pet. This fae-themed pack will give your farm a mystical touch. Ride around on a koi fish, tend to a fae spirit pet, and decorate your house to feel like it’s been touched by elemental energy itself!

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Pack contains over 45 items, including a furniture set, 5 new outfits, 1 mount, and 1 pet. This Rock ‘n’ Roll pack will give you all the gear you need to look the part as you shred through Sun Haven with musical power. Ride around on a punk-rock horse, pet a heavy metal rat, and show everyone that your Rock ‘n’ Roll interior design isn’t just a phase.

The Cyberpop Pack contains over 55 items, including a furniture set, 10 new outfits, 1 mount, and 5 pets. In this Cyberpop Pack you’ll find an assortment of outfits and gadgets to take you a century (or five) into the future. Ride around on a hoverboard, pet some robotic and cyber-academia creatures, and decorate your farm to feel like a futuristic paradise.

The Funky Monkey Pack contains 1 hat, 2 mounts, and 1 pet. This Funky Monkey Pack will give you an adorable collection of banana-themed items to help you get around Sun Haven in style. You’d be bananas not to like this pack!

The Dreamy Ram Pack contains 1 hat, 1 mount, and 1 pet. These are the cutest items on this side of the Sun Haven River! This Dreamy Ram Pack will give you the sweetest collection of dreamy creatures to accompany you on your adventures.

We’re excited to share an update for Patch 1.3!

Patch 1.3 is available now on the Public Beta Environment (PBE), and we’re making great progress on finalizing the patch for release after it’s finalized on the PBE!

Patch 1.3 will be released once it’s stabilized on the PBE and we’re able to make the patch as bug-free as possible.

The New Romanceables are here - Shang, Miyeon, and Lucius!


[h3]New Romanceables:[/h3]
Coming with Patch 1.3 are 3 new romanceables joining the large cast of Sun Haven characters! We’ve expanded our world with Shang, the Righteous Swordsman, Miyeon, the Timid Angel, and Lucius, the thoughtful Moon Attendant. These new characters have dates, events, bulletin board quests, and tons of new dialogue for you to explore!

[h3]Farm Structures:[/h3]
We’re introducing a plethora of new structures to place around your farm in Patch 1.3! These farm structures can help you out in a bunch of different ways, not only as decorations but with some extra effects as well! Some of these buildings include seasonal Greenhouses, Silos, Chicken Coops, Ticket Counterfeiter, Glorite Mining Machine, Butterfly Gardens, and more! Thanks to player feedback, we are also increasing the Shed limit to 12, so you can decorate your farm to your heart’s content!

In addition to the new structures, sheds now have beautiful night lighting to brighten up your areas in the evenings and to liven up your farm! With the increased shed limit, we’ve also added even more Shed Skins and House Customizations to choose from. We can’t wait to see your creative farm layouts!

Everyone deserves to be celebrated on their birthday, so we’ve added a yearly event that does just that! On the morning of your birthday (which is chosen in character customization and can only be changed in the Town Hall once, so choose wisely!), you’ll receive a surprise visit from Ronald, the local Tavern’s barkeep. Head over to the Sun Haven Tavern to celebrate your birthday surrounded by your friends and other guests of Sun Haven. The more NPCs you befriend, the more people you’ll have show up to your party! Be sure to come empty with an empty inventory though, because your friends may have gifts for you!

[h3]Miscellaneous Updates:[/h3]

• Updated Weather Effects and Animations. There are quite a few new seasonal weather effects that have been added, including light and heavy rain, light and heavy snow, and foggy and windy days, and themed seasonal particles around the maps of Sun Haven, Nel’Vari, and Withergate! Weather sound effects have also been added, which means that rain will finally make rain sounds!
• Withergate and Nel’Vari Fruit Trees.We’ve added a whole bunch of different fruit trees that can be purchased from Christine in Withergate and Clemmett in Nel’Vari. These fruit trees can also be found around the map as you’re exploring!
  
• Added Proximity Animations.We wanted to make the world of Sun Haven feel more alive, so we’ve now added proximity animations to tons of areas in Sun Haven and Withergate. You’ll now see banners waving, trees moving, windows shining, and more as you adventure through the world! You can expect to see us continue to add more animations in future patches as well.
  
• Various bug fixes.We’ve fixed tons of bugs and other issues, including digging up floor tiles in Nel’Vari, crop growths not syncing, tons of multiplayer bugs, quest and dialogue typos, controller support issues, and more!
