1. What is the release date and exact release time of the game?
   13:00 UTC, August 31st, 2023

   $29.99/29.99€

   -20% on PC platforms, -10% on consoles

   No pre-order bonuses
   
5. Which platforms is Trine 5 releasing on?
   PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Store), PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, GeForce NOW (through Steam)
   
6. Is the game Steam Deck compatible?
   Everything should be playable.
   
7. How many people worked on Trine 5?
   It had a similar team size as Trine 4 which was around 50 people.
   
8. How long was the game in development?
   Around 3 years.
   
9. Will the game have achievements on all platforms?
   Steam, GOG, Epic, Xbox, PS have achievements/trophies. Switch does not.
   
10. Will the game have Steam trading cards?
    Yes.
    
11. Will more languages be added to the localizations for text/audio currently listed on Steam?
    Additional languages are not planned at the moment.
    
12. Will it be possible for players to add fan-created localizations for unsupported languages?
    If there are fan translations we are happy to support them.
    
13. Will we get a game map poster like in the Trine 4 Nintendo physical version?
    No, nothing planned here.
    
14. Is Ari Pulkkinen providing the music?
    Yes, Trine 5 features a mix of brand-new tracks and some remixes from previous Trine games (the adventure takes our heroes to multiple familiar locations!).
    
15. Will we be able to purchase the soundtrack separately?
    Yes, it will be purchaseable on Steam.
    
16. Will there be another Trine collection series when 5 comes out? If so, will it fix the achievements that don't work?
    No plans at the moment.
    
17. Does the PC version include a Steam code to activate or is it purely physical?
    The retail PC version comes with a Steam code for activation.
    
18. Will there be patches, free updates or paid DLC?
    None that we can announce at this time, however we are of course committed to fixing any bugs or issues with the game with patches post-launch.
    

Technical questions:

1. What will be the download/install size for the game?
   Roughly 17 GB.
   
2. Will the game feature cross play between PC/consoles and between Steam/Epic/GOG?
   Yes, but with certain limitations. PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch can all play together if they are using the same build version/number. This WILL NOT be the case at launch, but we are aiming to make it possible WITHIN A MONTH after launch. PlayStation users are left out of cross-play at this point.
   
3. Will the game feature cross-generation co-op play?
   Yes, this will work on all platforms at release, so for example PlayStation 4 users can play with PlayStation 5 users, and Xbox One users can play with Xbox Series S|X users.
   
4. Will the game feature cross saves between PC/consoles and between Steam/Epic/GOG?
   Saves are shared in online multiplayer, but cannot be directly transferred between 2 devices.
   
5. Is the multiplayer server-based or Peer-to-Peer? How does it work on a technical level?
   Connections are routed via Epic Online Services .
   
6. What is the maximum number of players in multiplayer?
   4 in Unlimited multiplayer mode (each player can be any hero), 3 in Classic multiplayer (only one of each hero can exist at any given time).
   
7. Can you play local multiplayer with two keyboards or 1 keyboard + 1 controller, or only with controllers?
   Multiple keyboards: The game has no special features for multiple keyboards, so they are unlikely to work due to how modern operating systems and USB drivers work.
   Keyboard and controllers: yes, this works with up to the maximum of 4 players on one PC (1 keyboard and 3* controllers, or 4* controllers)

9. Will Trine 5 have any modern GPU features, such as ray tracing, DLSS, DLAA, frame generation?
   No plans on that side. Our game is very optimized.
   

Content questions:

1. Will there be a hardcore mode on the release, i.e. no deaths allowed?
   Not full hardcore mode, but within the “Custom” difficulty, you can select a “Master” level difficulty for resurrection, which means you have 0 Soul Points and you’ll get a Game Over if any of your heroes dies. You’ll then be able to resume the game from the latest Grand Checkpoint.
   
2. Are there spawn points again?
   There are checkpoints scattered throughout the levels. You can continue the game from any checkpoint.
   
3. Are there any escape sequences?
   No, unless you count running away from certain fights.
   
4. Will there be retcons in this part?
   We do not want to spoil the story here.
   
5. Will goblins appear in this part?
   No goblins. The main enemies / villains will consist of Clockwork Knights and members of the Rat Gang.
   
6. Will there be free battles in the game or will there be closed arenas?
   Mostly free battles, but in some areas you’ll have to fight your way through to advance.
   
7. How will Amadeus create his cubes and balls? Above his head or where you draw and appear there?
   Above his head. For extra special wizard-y feeling, you can enable “Draw shapes to conjure objects” in the Options (-> Control Options). The objects will still appear above Amadeus’ head for gameplay reasons, however.
