9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far News

Here's a blocky voxel RTS from the studio that made the Command & Conquer remasters

Veteran real-time strategy studio Petroglyph has released a cute new RTS in Early Access on Steam: 9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far is a classic-style setup of building bases, cranking out units, and battering your enemy from every direction as fast as you can. It's just the kind of thing you'd expect from a studio founded by people who worked on the original Command & Conquer series at Westwood, and who were behind the Command & Conquer remasters a few years back...

Early Access Hotfix #2

Hey Commanders!

We got word that some of you were having problems with Battlecam breaking mission completion and generally causing a bit of chaos. It seemed urgent enough that we decided to get it fixed asap.

We'll keep a lookout for any other high-priority issues this weekend while we work on other bug fixes and improvements to the game in our next big update later next week.

We sincerely appreciate all the great feedback we're getting - so please keep your comments and suggestions coming! We're watching closely on Discord and the Steam forums.

Thanks!

Early Access Hotfix #1

We have received your reports from the battlefield commanders. It looks like the troops already need support so we are rolling out this hotfix as soon as possible.

  • Fix for a save/load crash.
  • Enabling unit responses and HUD voices (in English) for languages other than English. e.g. German players would hear nothing for these events, which is probably worse than hearing it in English.
  • Mod manager has had some wording changed.

Command & Conquer Remastered devs return to their 8-Bit RTS series with new sequel 9-Bit Armies

Petroglyph, the makers of the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection and The Great War: Western Front, have just released their next RTS game into early access. 9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far is a sequel to their 8-Bit Armies series of real-time strategy games, the first of which came out all the way back in 2016. 9-Bit Armies retains the cute, voxel look of its predecessors, only now maps are even larger (4x bigger than the original, say Petroglyph), with naval battles, superstructures for your base and lots more to dig into either alone or in online co-op.
