[p]Season 7: Theme 5 [/p][h3]THEME: Ancient History[/h3][p]Build a level inspired by ancient and early civilisations, from humanity's earliest societies up to before the medieval era. This usually means around 5000 BC to 500 AD, but early civilisations such as the Maya, Aztec and Inca are also allowed.[/p][p][/p][h3]FAQ[/h3][p]Q: Does “Ancient History” include Prehistoric cultures?[/p][p]Yes. Prehistoric and early societies (such as the Neolithic or Bronze Age) are allowed.[/p][p]Q: Are Pre-Columbian American civilisations allowed?[/p][p]Yes. Civilisations like the Maya, Aztec and Inca are valid.[/p][p]Q: Are medieval castles, knights or feudal cities allowed?[/p][p]No. Medieval or later settings do not fit this theme.[/p][p]Q: Can I mix multiple ancient cultures?[/p][p]Yes, as long as the level still feels ancient.[/p][p]Q: Can the level be set in modern times?[/p][p]Yes. Your level can take place among the ruins of an ancient civilisation or during the civilisation's heyday. Whichever inspires your design the most.[/p][p][/p][p]Looking for ideas? [/p][p] [/p][h3]WHAT MAKES A LEVEL FUN TO RACE[/h3][p]To give your level the best chance of being one of the up to 14 levels selected for the monthly Zeepkist Super League tournament by our panel of judges, focus on creating a track that is enjoyable to race. Keep these points in mind while building and testing your level:[/p]

- [p]Bronze Age: Akkad, Babylon, Indus Valley, Sumer, Minoan or Mycenaean cultures[/p]
- [p]Ancient Egypt: Pyramids, temples and tombs[/p]
- [p]Iron Age: Celtic, European, Assyrian or Persian cultures[/p]
- [p]Classical Greece: Temples, amphitheatres and hilltop cities[/p]
- [p]Roman Republic & Roman Empire: Temples, arenas and aqueducts[/p]
- [p]Ancient China: Early walls, palaces and watchtowers[/p]
- [p]Ancient India: Stepwells and rock-cut temples[/p]
- [p]Pre-Columbian Americas: Maya, Aztec, or Inca ruins[/p]
- [p] Your track should be complete and submitted by Sunday, 25th January 2026 at 18:00 GMT[/p]
- [p] Submissions will be combined into a single workshop item after the deadline above [/p]
- [p] You can only submit one level[/p]
- [p]You can modify or replace your submission as much as you like until the deadline[/p]
- [p] Level collaborations are permitted[/p]
- [p]Maximum of 3 players per level[/p]
- [p]This counts as a level submission for each individual creator[/p]
- [p]Please add collaborators in the collaborators text field of the Level Editor level settings and mention them when submitting the level[/p]
- [p] Level author name MUST contain the submitters' Steam (or Discord) username[/p]
- [p] The name of the level MUST start with "ZSL - " (e.g "ZSL - My Level")[/p]
- [p] Your submission MUST be created within the 3 week building period. Please do not re-upload older maps—even if they fit the theme! [/p]
- [p]Level MUST be inspired by ancient or early civilistions (prehistoric to pre-medieval)[/p]
- [p]Level MUST not feature medieval or modern elements (knights, castles etc)[/p]
- [p]Level MAY be set during the civilisation's heydey or among its ruins[/p]
- [p]Level MAY include or mix multiple cultures[/p]
- [p]Level MAY include small fantastical or mysterious elements (e.g., UFOs or strange artifacts) for decoration, as long as the overall level remains clearly inspired by ancient or early civilisations.[/p]
- [p]Allowed inspirations include Bronze/Iron Age, Classical Greece, Rome, Ancient Egypt/China/India, Pre-Columbian Americas or any other early civilisations (typically 5000 BC to 500 AD)[/p]
- [p]Scaling track pieces is permitted[/p]
- [p]Level MUST follow any theme requirements set above[/p]
- [p]Level MUST be under 3000 blocks[/p]
- [p]Level MUST have an author time above 25 seconds[/p]
- [p]Level MUST have an author time under 60 seconds[/p]
- [p]Level MUST have at least 3 checkpoints. [/p]
- [p]Consider adding additional checkpoints for split timing or where it would prevent a cut, as cuts do not make for good tournament tracks![/p]
- [p]Level MUST NOT have risky or hidden finishes/shortcuts[/p]
- [p]e.g blind shortcuts or using no-collision/invisible/logic blocks to hide a secret path that is NOT the intended route. This includes hidden linked checkpoints.[/p]
- [p] Join our Official Discord server[/p]
- [p] Upload the level to the Steam Workshop[/p]
- [p] Link the workshop item in the theme's thread in #level-submissions[/p]
- [p]Up to 14 levels will be featured in the monthly Zeepkist Super League tournament; picked by our diverse judging panel full of players of all skill ranges[/p]
- [p]The community will vote on their favourite maps from the theme once submissions close[/p]
- [p]Creators of the 4 best decorated and 4 best track design/flow will win the Season 7 Level Contest cosmetic (two unique Soapbox cosmetics!) [/p]

- [p]Enjoyability: Is your level fun to drive? Focus on smooth, flowing racing lines that are satisfying to drive. Add interesting twists, jumps or obstacles that make the track exciting without creating frustration.[/p]
- [p]Learnability: Can players of all skill levels pick up your level and complete it in a reasonable time? The Super League is open to everyone, so try to design your level so both newcomers and experienced racers can enjoy it and have a chance to set a time.[/p]
