Zeepkist Alpha - Version 3

The Medals Update!

Welcome to the medals update! Zeepkist now awards medals at the end of levels!

There's 4 medals to achieve:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Author Time

Adventure mode has been updated to now unlock levels when bronze medals are achieved, and to unlock hats/zeepkists when gold medals are achieved. Players can also set custom medal times for the levels they create!

This update lays the groundwork for workshop support, which is coming in the future!

New content:

- 1 new zeepkist (replaces red default zeepkist)
- 3 new character colors
- 12 new glass materials
- Version sign in main menu
- Medals!
- Reset progress button in settings

Changes:

- Best times are now saved as separate files
- Sped up start countdown
- Changed zeeplevel format*
- Changed race results panel
- Changed race ending logic

Bugfixes:

- Fixed pause menu not disappearing when a controller gets disconnected and you get reset to main menu

Changed zeeplevel format*

Zeeplevels have been changed to better support the Steam Workshop in the future, this means your old levels are now incompatible with this version. To update your levels to work again, simply open them in the level editor and save them again!

The next update

This update lays the groundwork for further Steamworks SDK integration and Steam Workshop support. This will be a rather technical feature update without much new content, but it will mean (if all goes well!) that user made levels will be able to be shared via Steam!

Progress on this can be followed via the usual channels!

Zeepkist Alpha - Version 2, Patch 6

- Added support for Playstation 5 controllers connected via USB

Zeepkist Alpha - Version 2, Patch 5

This patch mostly adds a bunch of backend settings to instellingen.json, located at:

C:/Users//AppData/LocalLow/Steelpan Interactive/Zeepkist/Belangrijk

I'll get around to adding proper in-game menus for these later, but I thought it was important to already add the functionality for those who really want/need it.

- Added render distance settings backend (separate values for 1-4 players)

- Added volumetric lighting toggle settings backend

- Added half-rate v-sync toggle settings backend (v-sync AND half-v-sync need to be set to true)

- Added target fps value for when v-sync is toggled off. Default is -1, which corresponds to infinite

- Loading times of levels should now be consistent across framerates

- Enabled Steam cloud save, I hope this works :)

Here's a list of all settings that can be edited in instellingen.json:

Zeepkist Alpha - Version 2, Patch 4

- Changed inverted menu "controls" label to inverted menu "directions"

- Added a worldwide player counter sign, to test Steamworks integration

- Added the first achievement, to test Steamworks integration

- Added a slipstream power value in the settings file, default is 124.*

- This build is newer than the [testing] branch, which I've disabled.
The settings file is located at:
C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Steelpan Interactive\Zeepkist\Belangrijk\instellingen.json

Change the value after "gameplay_slipstream_power" to whatever you want. If that setting doesn't exist, change your audio volume in-game and apply settings, the gameplay_slipstream_power value will now show up in the json.

There will be a slider in the future 😄

Zeepkist Alpha - Version 2, Patch 3

- Resolution list now gets updated every time the settings menu is opened.

- Added frame counter to debug view (Page Up)

- Fixed split-screen slipstream being too sensitive
